Great recipes! I am originally from Sweden so I love potatoes. Will definitively do the potato salad, (already do a good niku-jaga). A tip for the mentaiko - cod roe: ask in the shop for broken ones, they are half the price or less. But sadly no mentaiko here in Romania. I loved dishes made with mountain potato - yams - nagaimo in Japan. Especially gratin. Maybe you can make a clip with dishes made of this one day? Arigato!

Hi! Thank you so much for watching and your comment! My soy sauce in this video seems to have a slightly lighter color because it is not fire-roasted during the manufacturing process. These type is called "raw soy sauce" in Japan. I buy it because I can taste the fresh aroma and flavor of fresh soy sauce. I sometimes use normal soy sauce which is not "raw", and I think these normal soy sauce is called "dark soy sauce"...? I'm not sure if dark soy sauce in Japan is the same as the one in overseas. Anyway, you can use any type of soy sauce for my recipe!! About the sake, I like to use "drinking sake" because I think it gives more umami to the dish than cooking sake. But, you can also use cooking sake. It's not problem at all! Use whichever is easier to obtain 😊
I use white sesame oil for frying. I think most of Japanese people use normal salad oil. But, white sesame oil makes fried foods extremely tasty!! (Also used in authentic tempura restaurants in Japan.) I think these in the link are similar one if you wanna buy in overseas. amzn.to/3PPdFr1

@Balazs Szilagyi Yes, it is better to use a pot when there is a lot to boil. Using a microwave is said to heat the vegetables in a shorter time, so the nutrients in the vegetables are more likely to remain without being broken down. Water-soluble vitamins also seem to remain.
