    Looks amazing. What type of oil do you use for frying?

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel
      @JapaneseCookingChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you!!
      For frying (stir-frying, etc) I use salad oil, sesame oil (dark color), or olive oil.
      For deep-frying I use salad oil or sesame oil (white color).
      White color sesame oil is expensive, but it tastes superb if you deep-fry something with it!
      Anyway, you can use whatever you want:D

    I never cared for salmon when I was younger the taste and texture threw me off. But I recently tried again by making it with miso. it has forever changed my view.

    I've googled and haven't found an explanation so can you explain to me why you add sugar to scrambled eggs? Is it just a preference thing or does it do something to the flavor or egg, or something? Thank you!!

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel
      @JapaneseCookingChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's preference. The sweet scrambled egg is very delicious. It's common thing in Japan:)

    Hi, I have Akami miso instead of the shiro, would this work for the miso baked salmon by omitting the soy sauce?

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel
      @JapaneseCookingChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean you wanna use red miso? Yes, that's absolutely fine! And, you can omit soy sauce :)
      Thanks for watching my channel! I hope you will enjoy delicious salmon with miso 😊

    Your tartar sauce is not a real tartar sauce. It needs acidity like pickles or some type of vinegar or even some mustard. Your sauce is like a runny egg salad.

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel
      @JapaneseCookingChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thank you for watching my video!
      You can make your own tartar sauce:D

      japanese tartar sauce is different from european tartar sauce. sometimes different dishes/condiments have the same name in different countries :)
