I hate to point out some poetic license by the film makers but a mk2 fiestas fuel tank wouldn’t rupture and catch fire like that. I was rear ended in one back in 2000 by an HGV , I had to be cut out as the back of the car was unrecognisable. The tanks are self sealing and double skinned so they can take a battering before they leak. The accident shown would’ve T boned the car at best even if it flipped onto its side. Technically speaking , if Bayleaf had already seen the Routemaster Bus and then the bike, he would’ve already applied the brakes and started to slow down.

I believe that the cast and crew made this as a reference to Series 1-2 Ding Dong Merrily (Christmas Special), as the Shelvoke SPV was being repaired for it's gearbox.. And was replaced by a Dennis F12 which crashed... And then here the Dennis RS 133 was being serviced (I believe) and was issued with a temporary Dodge which ended up crashing...
I know London's Burning was a drama but as this accident happened in the City it should have been the City of London Police attending this incident with Bayleaf's appliance, not the Met Police.
It was actually a Blue car that Bayleff hit causing the 1984 Blue Ford Fiesta 3 Door Hatchback to overturn onto it's passenger side and caused the fuel tank in the underside of the car to catch fire with the passenger banging on the window and then the car burst into flames with the firemen from the 1984 Dennis RS Fire Appliance spraying water from hoses onto the car to fut the fire out and to cool thw car down and in the aftermath the 1991 Ford Sierra Hatchback Police Car arrived at the scene to block of the road and the officer was reprimanding Bayleff for his actions and the 1992 Leyland DAF 400 Series Ambulance arrived to take the injured people to St Hugh's Hospital and by now th overturned car had the fire put out and has cooled down
That policeman had no right to reprimand Bayleaf until all the facts were known! I love this storyline though.

Yeah but Bayleaf had gone to the left hand lane in the box junction. The bike was actually on the wrong side of the white line.
