There has been a lot of concern about going through customs, and rumors of problems with having to pay extraordinary fees. We were concerned, too, so did a short video of our experience going through there.

We have been traveling there multiple times a year for 25 years and never had a problem. The problems that people are having seem to be from not understanding what the rules are and whats allowed.

Recently heard multiple reports about people entering ZIH being threatened with charges for their own property: costume jewelry, someone else mentioned cash. Keep your valuables on your person, as in in your pocket! Out of sight, out of mind, and if the only reason you're using a checked bag is for sunscreen, just remember you can fill up that clear plastic bag with as many 3 oz bottles as you can fit in there. I use a gallon zipper bag every time and I've never heard a word about it.
