Lyrics:
VERSE 1
Just one drink! Gonna keep it mellow.
Responsible night for a polite fellow
Say hello to my friends and comrades
Don’t tend to offend so I say perhaps
Just two drinks! As a social courtesy.
We can raise a glass to our past fraternity
And certainly a perfectly normal informal get together
But it’s been forever since we gathered so whatever
Just three drinks! For the sake of the old times.
Proceed with tequila shots with a dish full of cold limes.
The whole nine, laughing remembering all the old lines
Never used to work but I could em give another try
Just four drinks! Y’know, take the edge off.
I’ve had a hard week, I deserve to get sauced.
Pick up another round as my friends depart and
They may not stick around but I just got started.
CHORUS
Feel so much better than usual
I feel indisputable
[ohhhh]
I think that I might be beautiful
VERSE 2
Juuuuust five drinks! F***in' treat myself!
Pour the Dom Perignon from the back of the top shelf.
Spend like god put on airs to sell it
Crowd pretends not to care but I know they’re jealous, just
Six drinks! Let slip the dogs of war!
I’m gonna start a f***in' riot til I’m tossed out the front door
Zero to sixty I can turn on a dime, I’m hitting
bottom and I’m feeling like committing a crime. Just
Eight drinks! Maybe I’ve lost count?
I can’t remember the night, what I drank, or the amount.
I’m fading in and out my very consciousness is crumbling.
. . . Sorry, was I saying something?
Twelve drinks! Strolling out of the hospital.
Is it hair of the dog if you stay drunk and don’t stop at all?
Another night losing it more than I can afford
Was I just feeling bored? Am I that insecure?
CHORUS
Feel so much better than usual
I feel indisputable
[ohhhh]
But now I’m feeling so beautiful
Don’t wake me up from this spell I’m under if I’m still breathing
I know that I will be ugly when
I feel like myself again
[ohhhh]
But now I’m feeling so beautiful
BRIDGE
Bottle of scotch served on the rocks with a shot of cachaca
Vodka sake kamikaze with a handle of sherry a
cherry brandy with a jaeger chaser champagne float
A bourbon hot toddy in teacup of throat coat
Martini bellini negroni baileys kahlua sambuca
Soju paloma mojito gimlet frangelico guinness
Tequila manhattan a margarita old fashioned
Dry vermouth and something I can’t taste cuz I’m so trashed
Soldiering over I’m slower shoulder to shoulder with no one
Stumbling sobering making friends with a smoker
I know I’m less than upright, losing the fight with the ground
Then someone hits the lights as they close for the night now
Try to look at heaven and I can’t see the stars
A billion trillion eyes are winking as I walk between parked cars
Metabolizing liquor while I’m losing my friends
I’m gonna hate myself tomorrow then I’ll do it again
Naa na na na naa (etc)
CHORUS
Feel so much better than usual
I feel indisputable
[ohhhh]
But now I'm feeling so beautiful
Don’t wake me up from this spell I’m under if I’m still breathing
I know that I will be ugly when
I feel like myself again
[ohhhh]
But now I’m feeling so beautiful
My vision is blurry
As long as I’m thirsty
Nobody can hurt me hurt me hurt me - เพลง

Coming from a family only about one generation removed from a history of severe alcoholism (Thanks to my parents basically never drinking around me even though I live in a place that is VERY alcohol centric), this sentiment proves to me that it's not just a "skip a generation" thing and that the cycle is actually broken (despite the fact that I'm not as abstinent from the stuff as them). In all my college years and beyond, I never had a morning where I woke up and thought "Damn, why the fuck did I go that hard last night" or even one where I seriously lost track of how much I had. Not to use what others have gone through to comfort myself that I'm not lost, but that's just a bit of what my internal dialogue is like.
That lyric broke me, i literally paused this vid when i heard it and had to let it sink in

As someone who is addicted to addictions and less the thing itself yeah this song is 100 percent accurate
As someone with depersonalization-derealization disorder combined with maladaptive daydreaming disorder + addiction to food and videogames, all as ways to hide from reality by indulging in short-term meaningless pleasures, this song is basically word for word my experience (minus the actual drinking ofc) during my worst moments. I'm now thankfully far removed from that and have gotten way better, but I still love this song, I think because hearing it for the first time made me feel so seen. I also think that the genre of electronic is great for this sort of thing because the highs that you get and the fast-paced thoughts are something that electronic music really makes you feel to your core, even if you haven't quite experienced something like this before

@@Firestonetheunicorn did anything happen after that it sounds terrifying!
The lyrics are great. It perfectly describes not just alcohol addiction, but other addictions too. The way you calm yourself with each "just one more". The way you are going to hate yourself, and then do it all over again. The way you are lost in all of this.

This is one of my favorite depictions of alcoholism. The faces, his demons, appearing at the door before he's even touched a glass, showing that he knows exactly what's going to happen. "Just" being used for one, two, three, four, five, six, eight drinks because he's excusing himself, pretending like everything's fine until he's too drunk to care. By twelve drinks he's self-actualizing, he's coming to terms (again) with his alcoholism and questioning himself, comes face to face with his demons of addiction, and then decides to drown them in more booze. You can also see him gradually becoming less and less happy. The first few drinks he's smiling and having a good time, and as the song quickly spirals out of control getting faster and faster you can also see him spiraling out of control and hating it. Absolutely incredible depth and storytelling for a bouncy song that a lot of alcoholics party to without realizing the irony.
Good articulation of the message. Except that after 12 drinks you're not thinking anything.
@@nonoah4284 Well after twelve drinks you're also not falling and smashing against a bunch of hypermassive drinks or being carried through a river of wine so artistic liberties are being taken here.

I noticed that after he loses consciousness the heads don’t say “*just* 12 drinks.” They say “12 drinks” like he’s not even trying to make it seem like a small amount anymore. And after that point he’s not making up excuses either, just left to realize how deep he’s gotten in his addiction. The last thing left is his real reason (aside from now being addicted), that he does it to drown his insecurities and make his brain foggy so he’s unable to think about it so much while in his drunken state

@@Sampletexto1 bruh adds nothing to the conversation so whats the point?
Nice analysis
I totally agree. This whole song by definition is a song about justifying reasons to become "Drunk". I feel the heads stop saying "just # drinks" and change simply because right before they say "12 drinks", he asks if he was saying something, as he himself has forgotten why he is drinking. He cant even remember the number, because the number doesnt matter. The truth is, at a certain point, as you said, he doesnt care how many, he is simply drinking, and that's all he cares about. He wants to simply drink because, "As long as I'm thirsty, nobody can hurt me."
Edit: actually after another relisten, he jumps from "just 8 drinks" to asking if he was saying something. He leaves a hospital and then says "12 drinks". So he literally just lost track and doesnt care.
I hate how many nights of my life this song describes. I'm glad they're mostly behind me now... I hope whoever wrote this is doing better now too.

I feel like most songs don’t consist of an actual story with the lyrics but rather with the music video, but the very few that do make it explicitly obvious that there is a story (like the “robbery” series with Tee Grizzly) but this song you have to REALLY dig deep to notice the story, like noticing that the chorus actually gets longer everytime it repeats with more and more grim lyrics, as well as the fact that he just straight up stop counting the drinks. Also the vocals start getting more wobbly, and he starts using more profanity. Also I notice that people forget that he knew this would happen since before the 4th drink with the line “I’m just getting started” which is just outright him acknowledging the addiction and that it’s happens before. Such a banger with the most sad and grim lyrics.

“But now I’m feeling so beautiful/ Don’t wake me up from the spell I’m under if I’m still breathing/ I know that I will be ugly when I feel like myself again,” You continue to escalate and fuel that high because you know that once you’re sober you’ll hate yourself. There's 3 kinds of people that listen to this song
1. Living tombstone fans
2. Alcoholics who realize this is an extremely accurate depiction of drinking when you have a problem
3. both
i have a feeling your person C.
Dont out us like that xD
I'm a TLT fan (greatly I'm not an alcoholic or both).
bro really have to do a bohemian rhapsody reference at 3:26
"I know I will be ugly when, I feel like myself again." That line hits me the most in the song.
And also "I'm gonna hate myself tomorrow, (Then I'll do it again)"
the reason therapists tell u to drink if they cant solve ur problem.
@@samtheaspirant5571 I truly hope no therapists have ever said that

@@segaman4275 Yeah pay attention to how he says "is it hair of the dog if you stay drunk and don't stop at all?" (everytime he blacks out he wakes up drunk and keeps going), then shows a bridge of him drinking a ton of wine into the next day, then night time hits and he goes to another bar. When he gets out of the bar(s) (who knows) the sun is coming up. Then another bridge and one final black out to end the bender.
and something I can't taste because I'm so trashed
I come here to admit that I do indeed have problems with alcohol, even now I have my second flask of whiskey drunk, and the part where he says that he would do it again, that is completely the truth, and I do not deny it
If there are children reading this, please don't drink too much, I started with wine, I continued with beer and now I'm with spirits, money is hard to control, why do you always think "a little more won't hurt" I even managed to manage my money in a methodical way so that I have just enough for alcohol and have my normal life, and it works for me, I live well, I do not lack anything, but I am drunk on weekends
Alcoholics don’t run in my family. They drive.
As someone who likes to memorize songs the verses where he’s listing drinks is so hard but when I get it it’s going to feel so good.
i felt this comment
Good luck 👍
you're gonna be *feeling so beautiful*
i feel you bro, i'm the same way
Like getting the names from The Ultimate Showdown
Can we just talk about how friggin trippy the animations is tho
yeah why not
Disney level shit
Even better than Disney imo- this is one guy, and there’s so much dynamic angles, perspectives, and fluidity. It doesn’t have the polish of Disney animation, but the way the animator maximizes the space on the screen is spectacular.
@@eike1124 Yeah, exactly! :D

Everything this song is, explains the exact reason why I haven't touched a bottle of alcohol for over a year.
The feeling of losing control, finally letting go of everything inside me whenever i had the chance. It scared me.
My authentic self, my soul and all its colours were kept hidden inside me 24/7, and drinking was the one thing that allowed me to let it all out. Be myself. Have fun MY way. Do what I WANTED. GET MY FREEDOM.
Over this year i changed.
I learned so much, discovered more about myself and my loved ones.
For anyone who's struggling with alcohol rn, all it takes is one week. Literally one week. You could change your life, give yourself the happiness you deserve without literal poison. The best part? You'll enjoy every waking moment.
Stay strong. Stay clean.
For me it’s 13 years
this song tickles my ape brain in just the right way
I love how he's slowly like
"I'll keep it safe!"
"Meh whatever just a few more drinks for the bois!"
*"i will get utterly shitfaced"*
"i'm gonna hate myself tomorrow *t h e n i ' l l d o i t a g a i n!* "
Then skipped to stage five where reality starts melting
That's how addictions start.
Sounds a whole lot like a memory actually! Dont drink kids! Or do a better job at moderation than I did, like any kind of moderation at all would be a start XD

i love how the animation gets more and more surreal over time.
at the beginning (1 or 2 drinks) its fairly normal, then in the middle of the video, even when it was pretty surreal, it was still going in and out of a realistic-ish style, at the very end its just a fever dream lol.
1:12 i just noticed his jacket dissapers.
I love how in act 1 he's confident of himself
In act 2 he's aggressive
And in act 3 is scared and loses his mind

Jesus the way at the end he slams into drinks and lies on the ground with the skull cracked hits hard. The symbolism is real
@itsLaZu SalgadoA Most likely the way that the main character almost "Falls" into a rhythm, snowballing out of control from one drink to the other to keep themselves drunk, before their supply is finally cut off and they feel "Ugly" as they knew they'd feel when they weren't drunk any longer, being symbolized by the character falling into the pit and their mask being cracked.
But my OCD is screaming at me because the crack is on the wrong side compared to the icon of the channel.
itsLaZu SalgadoA, as he falls, the drinks hurt the further he goes, each one he's aware does more damage but he's falling, so he can't stop. Been there before... it's a long way down and rock bottom hits hard.
Scarfbit, the icon implies you're seeing things through his eyes, he's allowing you his point of view.
Whoever animated this deserves an award
Agreed.
dude still so good wish more songs were this fast paced electronic and had the lyrics that flowed together so well just found this song again after so long I still love it very much
"As long as I'm thirsty, no one can hurt me"
Legitimately the belief of all alcoholics put into words. It's a broken mentality but it's a hope that all of us strive to prove: that something out there let's us survive the struggles of life.
"Trying to look at heaven, but I cant see the stars."
However, this hope amounts to nothing, because all that happens is he hates himself, he doesnt need others to do it for him.
Beautiful song.
Edit: I wanted to say that yes there is hope, but cripplingly terrible addictions like alcohol are not it.
Oh wow I just noticed that when he says that he doesn’t remember how much he drank, the voices skipped a number with the counting. First they said „6 drinks“ and then „8 drinks“ without counting the „7 drinks“
Sry if my english is bad, I‘m from germany and class 7 so don’t judge me pls T^T

Yo the animator has animated other stuff, including another music vid, check him out
I missed it like 7 minutes after the premier
After 3 years this music It's still a masterpiece
From a young artist, this looks absolutely sick. This is definitely the reason why i want to pursue animation, to be able to create works like this! The twisting and turning, each Exaggerated perspective. I didnt even watch the music video til i stumbled upon it, and it pairs so well with the song!
Just remember the man went back to the bar after being taken to hospital
I feel like this isn't a progressive story but situations if he stops at each drink.
i love hospital

Epic chad moment
He is a man of focus, commitment, and Sheer fucking will.
"i know that i will be ugly when i feel like myself again...but now i'm feeling so beautiful..."
i keep coming back to this line - i can't stop thinking about it -
because it's, like...an uncomfortably accurate depiction of substance abuse. alcohol was never my drug of choice, but still, this hits fuckin' close to home.
excellent job, dude.
Yea it reminds me of my inner thoughts when I'm drinking
That little voice that tells me that was too much or I shouldn't do that
Course under the influence you'll ignore that logic in favor of doing whatever thought process passes your mind first
Hello
This song is so catchy man!
I could listen to it 5 times over and NOT be bored with it.
Plus, it aswell as the animation is full of symbolism about the struggles of alcoholism and addiction in general.
Moderation when consuming alcohol is ALWAYS important!
The faces laughing at skully are the demons he's trying to escape by drinking so much, only to return because he feels worse after all that.
My favorite part is 3:09
Just the imagery of him falling upon the drinks and starting to be *hurt* by them with each collision happening with the drumbeats-SATISFYING AND AMAZING(or should i say "AA" mazing?) *Ba-dum tss*
Wine commercials: drink responsibly.
Some 42 yr old man who got a divorce, became homeless and lost custody of his children: 2:08
I love the irony of how he says, "Responsible night for a polite fellow."
Then proceeds to get completely wasted, get into an alcoholic rage, and end up in the hospital.
Slunky pretty much
bruh
That’s what alcohol does
thats what i was thinking
and then keeps going after leaving the hospital
Words can't describe how much I dig this song. The vocals, the animation, the music. It all meshes together perfectly!
