You’re right - the Internet definitely needed this video! Thx for adding all the correct nomenclature and numbers too! Great use of common sense to fabricate and modify a DIY tool to do a difficult job and make it dead easy after a couple trial runs. 😉🔧👍 Yup, Tecumseh definitely engineered this one badly! I’m glad there don’t seem to be many of those around!
If you put a little grease on the keepers they will stick to the valve stem so you won’t accidentally drop one while installing. Just a bit of information
Haha! As an old motorcycle guy, I was talking at you through my tv to hook that spring compressor to the rocker stud and use it as a fulcrum! And then you did! Kuudo's Kyle! (Robert has some cool stuff on his channel!.... several of us old Snapper guys)
Thanks for the video Kyle. I'm working on a 2001 MTD Yard Machine. I've pretty much dismantled the entire tractor except for the Engine and carburetor. I've 100% fixed the steering. Welded on a Adjustable linkage on tie rod. Transaxle has all bearings & shift linkage replaced wheel bushing/bearings replaced. All new belts. New seat. Lots of stainless steel hardware. It has Tecumseh 13 HP, and diff valve & push rod setup than yours. It's almost done. Good job fixing stuff, I'll be watching.
Nifty little tool you made there. Glad you showed this, it will come in handy for the future. I have a C Clamp style valve spring compressor that would probably work on that as long as the one end of the clamp has room to sit behind the valve cover. If not that tool you made was a great idea. The old gasket definitely looked like it was getting some blow-by so it definitely needed it. I like that tractor. I wish mine had a fender shifter. I added a cup holder to mine lol. I was gonna cut a hole in the fender to stick it down in, but I just ended up running a couple self taps at the bottom of the cup holder into the fender. Great residential tractors. 👍
@@Kylebythecreek thanks for your subscription to my TH-cam channel Kyle by the creek I'm going to be doing a video on the cleaning of the hydro gear transmission on my craftsman gt tractor
