He could have stepped down as Hokage to allow a new Hokage to take over once Konaha was repaired, there by allowing him to look after Naruto. He could have done very similar thinks I said with Sasuke if the massacre still happened. He could of talked to the heads of the Hyuga about the use of a deadly curse mark to subjugate some of its members, he could have put medical ninjutsu into the ninja academy lesson plans so every ninja would have a basic idea of what it was and (like Tsunade wanted) train some of the genin to work as medical nin.
You should do a video on all the clans descended from Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. The Kaguya, Hagoromo, Hamura/Moon, Uchiha, Senju, Hyūga, Uzumaki, and Fūma clans. Ginkaku and Kinkaku are most likely from the Hagoromo clan. The Uzumaki and Fūma are related to ths Senju and Uchiha respectively.
How ironic you dropped this video today and i just started rewatching naruto shippuden again today! it immidetly starts of with sasori as the main villain, one of the best!!!
I Laughed at loud when you explained Madara’s plans. They seemed so cool and intricate at the time but now it seems completely asinine that his plans would work. And after all that he still just smiles as laughs as he states that his plans “failed”. The man is one of a kind.
Zestu should have been at the top of the list.. He was the shadow figure behind the entire plot of Naruto, on Kaguya's behalf of course.. If I could make a Squad of My favorite Naruto villains, it would consist of; Zetsu, Sakon/Ukon, Mu, Kabuto, Hidan, and Hanzo..
Madara is a great villain, but he's no Aizen who imo is the greatest anime villain ( Freeza is up there too). His plan was actually well thougt out, he was insanely powerful, charismatic and smart. His plan nearly succeeded and needed the MC to sacrifice his own powers (unlike Naruto) and even then he was still going to win, until Kubo used plot armor and Urahara to stop him. And then he comes back and helps stop the next big bad (it's like Marara would have helped against Kaguya) while looking even more awesome, still being himself and not becoming a "good guy." Madara is great, but he'll be 3rd (4th for me because I have Vegeta second behind Aizen) at best behind Aizen and Freeza.
Hey, thanks for the birthday video Nick! I heard you say that you don't really like when villains "flip flop." Giving a villain a redemption arc is probably my favorite character arc EVER. Orochimaru Stan here so thank you Nick for the higher placement I completely agree!! He needs a lil more appreciation especially since Tsunade and Jiriya get plenty of props (I understand Jiriya being a lil more important tho) but Orochimaru definitely deserves more credit for his impact on the story and power/intellect
Congrats on your vacation and Lunar New Year. I hope you enjoy... Quick question and I'm sure you have answered it.. Was Zabuza not part of the Swordsman of the Mist when Might Dai killed 6 out of 7?? If so was it Suigetsu's bro? Who also could weird all the others I thought.
No he wasn't, it was Juzo Biwa who had the executioners blade at the time. He died fighting Might Dai in the manga but in the anime he joined the Akatsuki and died fight Yagura.
@zylexbonzo6570 awesome. Thank you for the explanation. I was curious, and though he does go into this in other videos I'm sure, I appreciate the quick concise response. Much appreciated. As a follow up, how does Zabuza eventually inherit his sword? Seeing as it changes hands quite often compared to the others I guess. Or maybe I'm wrong. I don't know truthfully.
I just finished Shippuden a couple weeks ago. It took me 7 years to finish Naruto and Shippuden, watching on and off. Basically I remembered Zabuza more than most other villains on this list, 7 years later. So I completely understand all the rhetoric about Zabuza. He's actually great
You should do a video about the effects of war on children pain, kakashi, obits, itachi all broken people and the once who healed them where children that never saw war I think war and how it affects people's minds is the true story of Naruto
I've been watching Star Wars and the last bit about Madara's plans not making sense reminds me of a conversation I had with my brother about how none of the Emperor's plans make any sense but they just keep working.
Mizuki showed us how deep the hatred for Naruto was from the village. Zabuza brought uncertainty for the heroes Orochimaru was devious and brought chills. Itachi from start to finish made you want to know more and more with high interest.
I think you should do a vid ranking the best villains in Naruto that are foils to Naruto- think that would be an interesting subject that often isn't considered a criteria in these 'top x' naruto villain videos
oh as for my favourite villain: it's got to be Orochimaru from part 1. creepy, powerful, with unclear motivations and emotionaly manipulative to the max. as a child with abandonment issues I could relate to his pawns and it made them all the more sad and him all the more terrifying, because I knew his smile and cheek touching wouldve worked on me as well ... abusing that need for love, connection and approval is just S tier villainy.
great video. also well appreciated, that you bring in the real world comparisons, that Konoha is the US and how they have never been the good guys. btw. which US president do you think Danzo would represent best? Reagan? he sure was evil af. but there are quite a few to choose from :P
10. Hanzo (cool design and wa sa big villian in some backstoies) 9. Sound 5 (cool powers Kimmoru was a badass who almost beat gaara and lee) 8. Sasuke (pretty imp to the plot and he puts a interesting perspective in the view as a bad guy we often don't have the view of a badguy. To me he was kinda like the main character of the villians) 7. Kabuto(I kinda like his war arc importance and how kinda crazy he got after going through so much) 6. Obito(orange/white mask heavy carrying I like the mystery if him,his madara persona was badass and tobi was hilarious) 5. Kid Gaara (dude was scary as shit from killing people in thechunin exams beating sakuke and rock lee) 4. Zabuza(hewas probably the most believable no talk jujutsu as he had the benefit of losing someone he cared for and seeing naruto speaking up for Haku broke him entirely plus his ending monolog was amazing) 3. Orchimaru (og big bad did so much thereought the entirely of naruto and he never really changed he just got what he wanted so hedoesn't have to all the bad stuff. 2. Nagato/Pain (pure badass and loved the pain voice. Also one of my fav backstories he also lead the most cool badass group. And he used the rinn to its max) 1. Madara (dude was mentioned since the very beginning. The introduction, how everyone reacted to his presents other then hashirama was pure badass. Only neg was his ending) that's my listing. I don't have danzo because my list is my favorite villians which are villians who actually do cool shit or have cool backstories or looks danzo is aa plain as it gets. And I think an introduction to a villian is imp and kaguya has the worse introduction of any naruto character ever I also don't like the bug shift of lore in naruto because ofher.
Kabuto is so underated I think people forget that Kabuto brought the real threat if no Kabuto then no edo/madara and the war would of ended so quick people love madara so much but you wouldn't of got him without Kabuto. The war would of been very boring without Kabuto
Bro it breaks my heart whenever someone says that Madara is the best villain in Naruto😔 Madara brought so many asspulls and retcons and most people love him just because he’s stupidly overpowered Best antagonist in the Naruto universe is obviously Pain. His backstory, the way he was slowly introduced, appearance, ost, motives and plans are just superior. I wish he was the last boss in Naruto, instead of this uchiha glazing competition we’ve got.
The fact that Orochimaru is still active by Boruto speaks to just how great a villain they are. Not to mention having the most beautifully chilling theme to pair with their unsettling character. If you're a genin in the Forest of Death and you hear someone going hard on the organ pipes, you know it's already over for you.
Lol I was hoping you'd bring some real life politics into this after hinting at it, like four lines in a row. The American armed the Taliban line killed me. Lmaoo 😂😂
Real shit Danzo and Orochimaru are my two favorite villains both of them were so good at making you absolutely hate them while also understanding them and where they were coming from
So glad Orochimaru is on this list, definitely my favorite Naruto villain, I've gotten so many weird looks from fellow Naruto fans for saying Orochimaru is one of my favorite characters.
My favourite is actually Tayuya, as crazy as that may seem. Idk, just really enjoy her attitude and her abilities. I was glad to see she made it into Narutop99.
Danzo's gonna stay my no. 1 villain cuz he's literal evil, but Madara is a close second cause of how much he's been hyped up and how he delivered. He's really cool. Orochimaru was pretty sick in part 1 of naruto but after that, he just became that evil lurking in the background. Not really being the main villain of anything but the viewer would just feel his presence and then a little bit of disgust lol. Kind of like a real snake.
Not sure if he counts but I think shukaku (and yes I mean the one tail not shikamaru’s dad- shikaku) is a great villain. Shukaku shows how a tailed beast can have a very unique personality, how they have grown to both fear and hate humanity. How naruto could have ended up through the foil of gaara, and also he has one of the most touching moments, to me at least, from any side character. When the tailed beasts are being sealed in the gedo statue by madara you see a flashback (thinking about it, that may not have even been canonical I really don’t know.) but he draws a parallel between the grown up and mature gaara to a monk that was shukaku’s previous jinchuriki. Seeing the touching moment between the monk who has suffered in solitude with the patience of a saint being praised by shukaku who used to torment gaara for no other apparent reason than for shits n giggles. It was a great opportunity to grow the character of shukaku but also by proxy all the tailed beasts. Shukaku adds so much context to the show by doing so little that it’s genuinely impressive. Considering how he was the driving force behind gaara being a psychopath in part 1 and also the secret weapon the konoha crush arc was built around I think it’s fair to call him a villain. He never became entirely good again during the naruto timeline. Now I don’t like how they delegated him to being a pet in boruto but that wasn’t really up to kishimoto so I’m not really counting it. Moments after his flashback with the monk, kurama goes on to instruct gaara in how to save Naruto’s life after he was extracted. With the context of all tailed beasts’ minds being linked it’s fair to assume kurama saw that flashback or at least understood how shukaku felt about gaara in that moment, kurama also knew what gaara meant to naruto and the life experiences gaara had up to that point. That half of kurama knowing the lack of consciousness and absolute ending to his existence that was coming once he was forced back into the ten tails decided naruto needed to be saved at any cost and because of the relationship gaara had with both shukaku and by proxy naruto he entrusted Naruto’s fading life to gaara. I know I’m kind of rambling here but when you consider it shukaku is easily one of the most impactful side characters and when you measure that against his screen time it’s truly an amazing character and villain. Edit- forgot to mention this, shukaku was the first indication that tailed beasts had genuine personalities before tailed beasts were entirely a thing in the series. By that point they were just chakra demons. It was a great foreshadowing to the personality we would eventually see kurama display.
Good list, can't disagree with any of your opinions! Personally I would have Orochimaru higher, maybe #1. His entire persona was extremely well written and introduced. He's like the Joker of the Batman franchise.

Keep up the awesome work and videos Nick love the video
Personally Nchammer my Favorite Villains in Naruto are Madara Pain and Sasuke.
Sasuke's not a villain. but the other two are A1
Did you just call Sasuke a villain?😅
You should do a video on all the clans descended from Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. The Kaguya, Hagoromo, Hamura/Moon, Uchiha, Senju, Hyūga, Uzumaki, and Fūma clans. Ginkaku and Kinkaku are most likely from the Hagoromo clan. The Uzumaki and Fūma are related to ths Senju and Uchiha respectively.
How ironic you dropped this video today and i just started rewatching naruto shippuden again today! it immidetly starts of with sasori as the main villain, one of the best!!!
Let’s get Top 5 filler arcs in Naruto
This is the earliest I’ve ever been to a new upload 😭
Congrats on the vacation 🎉
Fun fact, the chapter cover of chapter 16 has some huge forshadowing. We see team Minato's team photo which has Obito and Rin in it
Why the hell are you calling Orochimaru a “they”. He’s a he my dude.
Seems pretty spot on. Enjoyed the vid! Great to see zabuza!
Orochimaru is one of the best villains...almost everyone wanted him gone, and he still alive
I Laughed at loud when you explained Madara’s plans. They seemed so cool and intricate at the time but now it seems completely asinine that his plans would work. And after all that he still just smiles as laughs as he states that his plans “failed”. The man is one of a kind.
26:12 when you almost blamed nagato's pain on América 😂
And then he comes back and helps stop the next big bad (it's like Marara would have helped against Kaguya) while looking even more awesome, still being himself and not becoming a "good guy."
Madara is great, but he'll be 3rd (4th for me because I have Vegeta second behind Aizen) at best behind Aizen and Freeza.
Hey, thanks for the birthday video Nick! I heard you say that you don't really like when villains "flip flop." Giving a villain a redemption arc is probably my favorite character arc EVER. Most of my favorite characters in any anime/manga, book, movie, or other TV show are villains redeemed. I'd love to hear why you don't like it.
The villian shouts, the hero cries, he knows what he's been through, he doesnt have to do this. The villian turns away
[The music starts to play]
He scoffs, after all, what would he know. He turns back, a tear in the hero's eye
[A picture of a tree with a swing fades in]
Well, what would he know, hes an orphan afterall
[You smash your keyboard repeatedly]
"Don't don't tell me its that fucking swing!"
And all the villagers turned away on him, he even failed the graduation exam 4 time.
[Scene continues, you leave the room]
Hello Mr. Hammer,
I just firstly want to thank youtube for recommending your channel and thanking you for bringing me back to Boruto, it really has been a blast watching and reading it to catch-up to the current page and I really do think that Boruto has done alot of things right but I wanna hear what you think so I'd like to request a "ranking and explained" of every boruto arc and if oyu want regular naruto and naruto shippuden arc
I will be commenting this until I get my wish although not as formal lol
27:09 yes we do. He straight up tells Naruto ‘I grew up not knowing my parents as well’
Orochimaru Stan here so thank you Nick for the higher placement I completely agree!!
He's actually great
I just love the love that Zabuza gets here 🙌🏼
The Line Up of people telling your gf’s family why you’re busy filming 45min videos 😅😂
You should do a video about the effects of war on children pain, kakashi, obits, itachi all broken people and the once who healed them where children that never saw war I think war and how it affects people's minds is the true story of Naruto
We need that extra 45 minute video after your trip that video would be fire. Pain and itachi are huge plot points in the story
Amazing viddddd yes!! Can your second channel do more one piece vids? I’m finally 700 episodes in and I would love if you talked about it more!
I've been watching Star Wars and the last bit about Madara's plans not making sense reminds me of a conversation I had with my brother about how none of the Emperor's plans make any sense but they just keep working.
Mizuki showed us how deep the hatred for Naruto was from the village.
Zabuza brought uncertainty for the heroes
Orochimaru was devious and brought chills.
Itachi from start to finish made you want to know more and more with high interest.
You and I feel the same way about Kabuto. Pain and Zabuza are my favorite characters from Naruto period.
10. Hanzo (cool design and wa sa big villian in some backstoies)
9. Sound 5 (cool powers Kimmoru was a badass who almost beat gaara and lee)
8. Sasuke (pretty imp to the plot and he puts a interesting perspective in the view as a bad guy we often don't have the view of a badguy. To me he was kinda like the main character of the villians)
7. Kabuto(I kinda like his war arc importance and how kinda crazy he got after going through so much)
6. Obito(orange/white mask heavy carrying I like the mystery if him,his madara persona was badass and tobi was hilarious)
5. Kid Gaara (dude was scary as shit from killing people in thechunin exams beating sakuke and rock lee)
4. Zabuza(hewas probably the most believable no talk jujutsu as he had the benefit of losing someone he cared for and seeing naruto speaking up for Haku broke him entirely plus his ending monolog was amazing)
And he used the rinn to its max)
10. Orochimaru
9. Kimimaro
8. Sasuke
7. kid Gaara
6. Madara/Obito
5. Obito /Madara
4. Kabuto
3. Itachi when we perceived him as a villain
2. Zabuza
1. Pain
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!!!!
Hey Nick what would happed if your editor went on his own vacation...... Like would you be forced to edit your own vids
I was really expecting to hear Nick say Billy Graham when he started listing Dick Cheney and Henry Kissinger.
Kabuto is so underated I think people forget that Kabuto brought the real threat if no Kabuto then no edo/madara and the war would of ended so quick people love madara so much but you wouldn't of got him without Kabuto. The war would of been very boring without Kabuto
Zabuza is the villian that sold me on naruto back when it was airing. The sword alone to 14 year old me was so intense. Executioner blade plz
Haven’t watched but that alien Who ruined the GREATEST 2v1 ever should be the worst villain
Madara the G.O.A.T. across all anime
I love the Konoha and America comparison
These videos are Gold
Danzo literally created almost every major villain in Naruto. 😂
Bro it breaks my heart whenever someone says that Madara is the best villain in Naruto😔
Madara brought so many asspulls and retcons and most people love him just because he’s stupidly overpowered
Best antagonist in the Naruto universe is obviously Pain.
Orochimaru is easily the best villain in Naruto.
I dont think Madara or any other have trully matched his menacing aura. Orochimaru is a great villain
Pain is the best villain in naruto. He's the only who pushed and made Naruto question himself.
Gaara almost gave him an identity crisis
Madara over Pain, Orochimaru, and Danzo is crazy
It is quite literally as based as it gets
Correct*
30:15 the suicide explosion did do something. It destroyed shisui's eye
Amer-, I mean, Konoha had me wheezing
I lost it lolol
@NCHammer23 Have you done a video considering a possible connection between Kurama and the Kurama Clan?
Wouldn't the connection just be they're family?
@@appleboss9742 I mean Kurama the fox and the Kurama Clan.
Nick finally mentioning Guren the Crystal style user is satisfaction 🍍
Besides Madara, I'd say that Hidan would be in my Top Favorite if we're talking STRICTLY Evil Villans.
The Land of Waves is by far my favorite arc because of Haku and Zabuza. It was, in my opinion, Naruto at its very peak
That look very good video of top 10 best villains on Naruto series. Can you do of worst top 10 villains on naruto series.
Orochimaru
Madara was amazing but the way orochimaru always demanded my attention when he was on screen nothing like it
Best villain in naruto is the guy who denied nagato bread, that guy evil as hell
Yesss, he mentioned Gurren.
Great Danzo explanation.
Kaguya is STILL the best written female character in Naruto even if she's the second worst part of the plot
Nick spitting real facts in this
Not sure if he counts but I think shukaku (and yes I mean the one tail not shikamaru’s dad- shikaku) is a great villain.
Naruto really does have a Mount Rushmore huh
I'm guessing you filmed this a while back and are just now uploading it b/c Lunar New Year was last month my guy.
Lokey they constantly should be making a ton of ninjas with Kabuto snake powers
Good list, can't disagree with any of your opinions!
Personally I would have Orochimaru higher, maybe #1. His entire persona was extremely well written and introduced.
He's like the Joker of the Batman franchise.
Zabuza will always be my favorite. He’s the reason I fell in love with Naruto. Although he wasn’t exactly a villain.
Orochimaru is 100% my favorite villain and what got me truly into Naruto because he is aestheticly my og antagonist from my own book
