It is absolutely criminal that the Shadow Clone technique, not Multi-Shadow Clone technique, just the base Shadow Clone technique, was not used more often for simple reconnaissance. How ANY leaf village Shinobi got caught in an ambush ever just astounds me to no end.
I assume it’s because it’s a forbidden jutsu not known by the public. Not that that’s an excuse to not letting it be known by more Shinobi. It’s only one hand sign so gotta wonder how complicated it is to just watch someone do lol
I was literally rewatching the Sasuke vs Deidara fight earlier today because it was the thing that got me interested in Naruto and anime as a whole back when I was 13, and boy, is it good. Honestly, all the detonating clay jutsu are incredible, not just C4. The C1 golems that, when dismembered, reform as a new golem. The C2 dragon with mines and its unnecessarily adorable homing dragons. The C3, which is just H-Bomb. The C0, which has a fireball that's _10 km wide_ , meaning it potentially has a yield equivalent to _10-30 megatons of TNT_ , ie. 1-2x as powerful as Castle Bravo, one of the strongest bombs ever tested. The guy was super dangerous. It's a shame he had to fight Sasuke. I also miss the Deidara Tobi dynamic, it was great
I assume its like the exploding paper bomb jutsu the second invinted. I also dont think it would stop because once it explodes he would regen while it went off and create a perpetual nuke and if that happened i dont think that would be a good idea for the story. Like, Imagine in Boruto they pan over the area where the war was and JUST A DOME OF EXPLOSIONS KEEP GOING OFF AND EVERY SO OFTEN YOU SEE A BODY AT THE CENTER. Nearly nothing could seal that
If only he was resurected, had infinite regeneration, and could spam C0 10km nukes during the war... Oh wait, he was, but he didn't... That's the biggest butthurt moment for me in the entire Naruto/ Boruto saga... oh did I mention that he could fly?! and the number of shinobies capable of flying was... Sai, Oohnoki (& bunch of people using their techniques), Sasuke with Curse seal and that's pretty much it. Just fly high over one battlefield, nuke, regenerate, move to the other one... Or make 5 shadow / clay clones to do it on all frontlines at the same time. or just a remote battlefield somewhere where it's irrelevant... Give me something!!!
konan's dance of the shikigami is underrated, it's basically the paper equivalent of suigetsu's hydrification jutsu, it's just unfortunate that the jutsu has to be wielded by a woman and the writer had to be Kishimoto.
Nah bro. Sakura was part of team 7 yet she was treated like deadweight and became a meme. He could have give her some broken support abilities like maybe transferring all damage(even lethal) that someone takes then she heals herself. Or learning that reviving the dead jutsu from Granny Chiyo and since she is constantly storing chakra and has super healing, she could out heal her death or something😔 @@Altaire7
The upper limit of transformation Jutsu would be the person's chakra. The law of conservation of mass also includes energy; therefore, to gain mass, one would have to put in the energy, or in Naruto’s case, chakra. Additionally, the smoke and sound generated by the transformation could be the excess energy due to the inefficiency of the process or as a byproduct of the molecular change. To justify what is shown in the show, the more significant the change, the more energy is lost; thus, the more dramatic a person changes, the more chakra they are wasting. If we assume this inefficiency grows exponentially, much like how area and volume interact, it could be possible that children can look like their teachers while masters would still be unable to turn into tailed beasts. Therefore, I could see someone like Naruto being able to turn himself into a tailed beast, but I bet a lot of regular ninjas couldn’t. Some laws that justify my thoughts are the laws of conservation, Einstein’s famous E=mc, and the square-cube law.
@@MohamedRamadan-qi4hlit easier to imitate a human body or the shape & feel of a weapon than a biomechanics of living creature probably. There is nothing to suggest it cant be done, but ppl with the chakra control to pull it off probably have better (more prestigious) jutsu to learn. Remember you cant hide your chakra signature so it wouldn't fool a high security ninja base & you don't need anything that fancy to gather intel on civilians. Also mostly useless in combat as we have only seen The monkey King maintain it while take/inflicting damage.
@@MohamedRamadan-qi4hlId argue so. Though, I feel like there couldve been a specialist that focused on transformations. But yeah, an inanimate object that has nothing more than its dimensions and material composition is leagues easier and practical than creating newly formed wings, deciding on muscle formation, its usability and then learning how to use them adequately in a moment's notice (unless they spent time studying and practicing extensively, hence why specialists would be cool) is probably much hard than just turning into a spinning piece of metal.
Shadow Clone Jutsu is crazy useful, considering that the experience gained by the clones goes to the original upon vanishing. This means that you could theoretically have each clone learn a language, martial art, or jutsu, poof away, and then the original would instantaneously be a damn genius. Of course, most people aren't Uzumaki or Senju and can likely only summon a couple of clones, it might not be as useful for most as it was for Naruto.
I mean honestly all you need are 4 to learn multiple languages in a few months... Heck technically you could use it and give yourself full immersion learning if you just want one.
true, Shadow Clone Jutsu can be incredibly advantageous, especially for someone like Naruto with his Uzumaki lineage. The ability to gain knowledge and experience from the clones is a major advantage.
the duration of a shadow clone depends on its purpose and the amount of chakra used, it can last until destroyed or until the chakra supply is depleted. @@liamwarner5749
@@liamwarner5749 I think it is until "the pain" where that term is defined by any great shock, distance, injury low energy, too high of energy... Etc. Not that that term was defined or used in the show, but Kakashi/Sasuke, etc defined limitations earlier in the series a few times... Though between dimensions seemed to really count for distance and Naruto's broke most rules due to power level.
My take on the Substitution Jutsu is that it's a Summoning Jutsu that works with your reflexes when your about to get injured (like you said) but you'd first need to put a contract on an object before using it. That's why ninjas can substitute with logs that have paper bombs lit on them because it gets stuck in time.
And the main reason why ninjas don't SEE that it's a log or an object is that you replace your original body with a fake body sorta like Shadow clone but much easier whilst also not having any "sentience".
I can see why you would think that, but looking into it, it's actually an application of the Body Flicker Technique (being derived from it directly). So the reason they don't see it is because they're using a technique that applies so much speed that it looks like they're teleporting. This is also why the two techniques have similar displays/animations in the show.
but if thats the case, thats how teleportation jutsu work it would be the same as the flying raijin that Minato uses . If i can reverse summon my self in to a marked object why dont all ninjas mark something in their village and teleport back when they are in danger?
I absolutely LOVE that you went over some of the lower-ranked, "useless" jutsu like Transformation and Substitution. When I used to RP Naruto, people would "trade" their Academy jutsu for points that would let them get higher-ranked techniques. They didn't get why I filled my jutsu list with E- and D-rank techniques. One of my favorites is Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique, which is what we see Kakashi use on Sasuke during the bell test and then literally never again, I think. Being able to lurk underground like that is super stealthy, and then of course it would much easier to kill someone once you've dragged them under as well.
""Double Suicide Decapitation Technique," That sounds like you're combining the technique Anko tried to use on Orochimaru with Kakashi's jutsu. Kakshi's technique doesn't involve suicide in any way. Think it's called groundhog decapitation in the dub.
The ability to reverse summon jutsu yourself should be used more Imagine if people could form summoning contracts with their allies and be summoned back to the safety of their village if their ever in danger
Never understood why inojin never got his mother who trained with a poison specialist to add a contact based poisons into his ink so even when his drawings break they can still do damage
Contact based poison in a fight could be a disadvantage to his own allies if they don't have/run out of the antidote. It's too unpredictable. Did the drawing break over their heads and rain poison? The enemy broke it with a kunai/senbon, is that now coated in the poison? Is the wind blowing in the wrong direction? Not counting size, he and his allies would have to think about even smaller details that they probably wouldn't be able to focus on in the middle of a fight.
@@rixserd but Inojin could just use other brush to draw without having a poison ink like whenever he want to rescue his comrades. All he gotta do is just to swap the brush as simple as that
I think sasori’s poison + Iron sand are deadly combination. -Iron sand drizzle: shoots bullets of iron sand with incredible speed that can’t be even seen in the eye. Unless you have strong defence like chakra shield. -Iron sand world order: covers the entire area with iron sand branches that hit every corner making escaping unscathed impossible. If you get as little as small cut, its over since the poison will take effect and paralyse you.
Yea Sai's ink summons are practically infinitely better puppet dolls when it comes to their original purpose of user-safety. Those puppet dolls typically don't have _meaningfully_ better durability either, and need to be replaced instead of being a flawlessly expendable and repeatable resource. The range difference is also there, and no weakness to chakra string removal.
Yeah the Transformation Justus is underrated plus the one thing I never get is when a Ninja see a crime or suspect they try to describe them I mean their ninja just transform into them
My headcanon is that the substitution jutsu is basically a combination of summoning + reverse summoning + genjutsu. You have to first tag a nearby object like a log with a summoning fuinjutsu mark, then when you activate the substitution the object is summoned to your location while you are simultaneously reverse summoned to the objects location. A minor genjutsu is used to hide the switch. This is why the technique is rarely used and almost never spammed, because it does actually require preparation ahead of time to use.
I see deidara in the thumbnail so I’m guessing he is talked about. This brings me to my theory that edo deidara is the strongest character in the verse (including all edo characters) he can’t die so he could use his biggest explosion over and over again and destroy EVERYTHING
I agree honestly if he would've spammed his biggest explosion Plus the one with micro sized explosions that almost killed Sasuke there would be no need for other Edo. Maybe except for nagato since he can gather Intel via rennigan or remain stealthy with his chameleon and still cause distractions with his other animal summonings.
1st Honestly Sasori, Chiyo and Kankuro should be up there in terms of how they were able to benefit the Sand Village. Lowkey the Puppet Jutsu relies on the puppets own mechanisms that the controller has put into it or onto it. Poison by Sasori by blades, Chiyo never used poison however gave her puppets weapons in general, and Kankuro improved Sasori's own work... 2nd Puppet jutsu in all sense of purpose was to make the ninjas do less of the sacrifices of being in the spot to give their own life in order to save others. It basically was a useful ninja jutsu that i wish was used more in the anime as there was about i think 6 battles in Naruto was used itself and 2 that relied on it in Boruto.
Especially give that puppets can have a combination of weapons, tools, and poisons on top of different jutsu combinations. Nick Please please do a puppet video.
I just also want to point out the only reason that Haku's mirror technique was overcome by 2 genin were not only because those 2 genin were reincarnations of god, but also because Haku was not intending to kill them, only make them unconscious. Haku just had the unfortunate circumstance of running into the 2 reincarnations of god that had an ungodly amount of stamina that his efforts to make them unconscious were taking too long.
You made a good point on transformation justu, but I wonder why everyone on Tobirama's team when they are surrounded by kinkaku and Ginkaku's squad just turn into Kunis or senbons. Then all they have to do is stuffed into tobiramas pouch and tobirama would just flying raigin out of there. 😅😅😂
Because of the retcons.... originally transformation was a shapeshifting jutsu, then it was retconned into an illusion and then it was retconned into being a physical shapeshifting if you put enough chakra into it (aka naruto) but only an illusion if you use it like a normal person, this came up alot with the early jutsus in the series. I mean look at sakura's fight with the sound genin and see how she uses substitution like its teleportation. Kishimoto admitted that he didnt think all of the justus through for long term powerscaling and had to do a bunch of retcons throughout the series because of it. After all hiruzen even said that the 1st and 2nd hokages were just as strong as he remembered them... and then we saw shippuden
I think I have an explanation to how the substitute jutsu works. If you remember the episode when Pain sneaked in Konoha and the Animal Path used summoning-like technique to bring along other paths. I think here we have something similar. Ninja makes in advance a transformed log and marks it with seals to summon himself to the location of the log and vice versa on command.
A Jutsu that I feel was pretty underutilised was the Dance of the Shikigami. Now just hear me out on this one: Imagine what it could do and how much of a nightmare it could become in the hands of a Fuinjutsu Master. You could make your body a veritable Swiss army knife of Seals and Tags instead of being confined to booms like Konan was. Hell, combine it with the Sealing Technique and you also become a veritable walking arsenal that Ten Ten only dreams of being and a walking army since I'm almost certain there is a way to seal Shadow Clones for later use, there is a way to seal basically everything else after all. There is a lot of synergy potential to that technique that was never utilised tbh.
100% agree with you on the transformation jutsu. Even if it's the only thing you know and there is an upper limit on size. It's still ludicrously powerful if mastered.
My picks might be underated or not but I'll throw out my 5 favorites. 1. Earth grudge sphere(Kakuzu's forbidden jutsu) 2. Triple rashoman gates 3. Tayuyas demon flute summons (Imagine if we seen more instruments utilized from the Sound village) 4. Raikage's lighting taijutsu 5. Water clones/various clone tactics
I used to think and still kinda want to believe that Monkey King Enma's ability to change to a staff was a gekei genkai of the monkey summons, like can't summons have gekei genkai?? And can't they be crazy and unexplainable ones??😅
I can agree with this, especially since every time he transforms, it's into that staff. It seems very unique and special to him. That said, we still see Naruto change into a demon windmill shuriken and function as one physically. Also, I could be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure there was a moment when nameless shinobi were able to turn into rocks or something.
@jonkeathegamer yes true, but as a shuriken I don't believe he'd be able to slice through people, he'd hit them and transform back to himself or he'd be blocked and transform back. Whereas MKE is made up of that material when he transform. But I could be completely wrong. I also just realised I spelled kekei genkai wrong in that comment😅
@@otimingawhika3721 This is quickly disproven by Naruto transforming Gamabunta into Kurama. We see his froggy flippers are able to not only be shifted into fox claws, but be used to properly grip onto Shukaku. The entire point of the transformation was because his body was unfit to restrain Shukaku.
@@jonkeathegamer true, I forgot about that, but claws are also bone, so Gamabunta has material in his body strong enough to have claws, I'm just talking about changing the body to be stronger than it is capable of being, otherwise everyone can transform into a stronger version of themselves made of adamantite, I don't know, just thinking out loud, but I like this, if you remember anything else to disprove this theory.
I hope somebody makes a Kamatari plush just for you! Iv'e always thought he and the yokai he is based off of was cool. I'm guessing they call him Kamatari instead of Kamaitachi like the original yokai is called so people don't confuse him with Itachi.
I always assumed that the Substitution Jutsu was like a thing you had to be kinda focusing on when you get hit, and it's like prepping a complex set of things. So it only works if you're consciously thinking of the objects you would replace yourself with, and if you are maybe focusing some small amount of chakra on it or something. Because even people that use it and it would be useful to use it at some time get caught unawares at times, so it's GOTTA be something that can be overcome or outsmarted in some way.
The thing about Haku's mirror attack is that he wasn't being serious about that fight. Zabuza makes it clear that Haku is way too soft, and that he wasn't actually aiming to kill Naruto and Sasuke. He was purposefully hitting their non-vital points, and he can do so to the point where he can just barely disable a person entirely WHILE aiming at vital points.
With this man's understanding of Naruto I think it would be amazing if he wrote a fanfic or two as they would not only be deeply based on manga canon but they would be an outlet for some of his opinions such as fugaku's mangekyo and such. Even though it would take a cut into his time for videos i bet if he put some serious time into them, then people would be willing to pay for them due to their high quality.
Tsunade's fight with Kabuto was the reason I got interested in medical ninjutsu because 1. combative medical ninjutsu has never been explored and 2. if she had used that against literally anyone else other than an extremely talented medical ninja like Kabuto it would've been game over. Like if she'd used it against Orochimaru later on, I really don't think there's anything he would've been able to do. It's also a very ninja like way of fighting, because instead of massive fire balls or lightining hands or giant animals it's a simple touch with no warning as to what it will do and will render an opponent immobile
Idea of a hidden konoha jutsu, a forest emergence that's using the shadow paralysis jutsu, you can stop them even if they run away from the trees, they'll be sealed because they're in the shadow of the forest, so i guess shadow forest emergence
With transformation I would assume that chakra is the limit on how much you can do. A summon and naruto all have a ton of chakra. That being said the bird thing is very solid. Also I would think that you could have your teammates turn into kuni, or flowers put them in your bag and then just pull them out at any time. Zabuza didn't notice that the weapon flying at him had chakra so unless someone with a magic eye is guarding the gates I would think anyone could carry a platoon of pretty rocks into a village and cause serious problems.
yeah with the transformation jutsu there is the expansion jutsu and the beast mimicry. Kiba with Mimicry he combines with his dogs to become a giant creature. Choji with the expansion jutsu is able to become huge or just make parts of himself huge. I always seen these as more refined versions of the transformation jutsu. even the shadow possession jutsu can be seen as a type of transformations because your transforming your shadow. it does have more to it then that but it can even be turned into solid objects.
You can't trust Lightspeed comments that early in the Naruto manga. If it was true that how cool is moving at light speed then that means Sasuke was able to track him with a one tomoe Sharingan. But couldn't track Rock Lee with a two-tomoe Sharingan.
If I remember the anime right, he had 2 tomoe in one eye and 1 in the other, but maybe it was his eyelid that was blocking the last tomoe though it’s been a while.
Not totally true. Sasuke could track Lee just fine but he couldn't react to his movements. Haku is jumping several feet between mirrors and Sasuke can barely hit them with a fireball. Whereas all Lee has to do is extend his arm/leg to strike Sasuke. This is a common misunderstanding and an excellent example of combat speed vs travel speed.
@@AtelierGod your misremembering the only had one tomoe during the Land of Waves. And he just miraculously had two in each eye during his face down with Lee.
@@maxlee8780 Pretty sure that was only in the anime though. It was stated he could track him just not react (even in the anime). So I think that was an artistic decision. Even if it was in the manga as well that does not mean lightspeed is out of the question. it just means Lee is faster than light
I assume the chakra cost is the limitation on the transformation jutsu. Remeber, Gamabunta supplied the chakra, Naruto only supplied the image and hand signs. I have no way to confirm this, no one does, but I would assume Enma was able to transform himself into adamantite because he was a monkey sage and used natural chakra along with his own massive amount of chakra to do it. While not explicitly a 'boss summon', Sarutobi did summon him to help fight the first and second hokage along with Orochimaru... so you gotta assume he's on that same level as the boss summons if not superior. Gamabunta and Manda were boss summons but they weren't the ones in charge of their respective clans while Enma probably was. He is the Monkey KING after all. The substitution jutsu is just as confusing as ever.
The chakra scaple technique is really slept on and potentially game changing. Imagine Hinata or Neji using it and every time they got a hit they were dicing up your insides and cutting tendons.
While he’s not necessarily a pacifist, shino definitely seems to have an aversion to unnecessary or egregious violence, as he’s refused to use those incredibly brutal abilities he has access to. And they definitely havent forgotten about it, mitsuki even said after their duel that shino could have killed him if he used the bugs he withheld. My theory is that shino will eventually be put in a position where he has to protect his students, and with his back to a wall he goes all out and uses the renkaiju or similar bugs, finally showing us his true strength while sticking to his character, as he comes off as someone who dislikes senseless violence, and holds a similar stance to tobirama where he wants to separate children from war and danger, so it would be fitting that he would only use those bugs in order to protect his students from harm
35:19 I’d imagine that more mass = more chakra used, sort of like how elemental releases create elements from chakra. Additionally, some substances might be more difficult to become, so transforming into adamantine may not be an option for most ninjas. However, this means someone like Naruto should absolutely be able to become adamantine
The reason why the Substitution Jutsu can be used thr way it is has to do with it being derived directly from the Body Flicker Technique. People can react so quickly with it because the basis of Substitution Jutsu is a technique that applies speed many in the show compare to teleportation.
Iwagakure Shinobi have some of the most underated jutsu Hiding with Camouflage Technique + Shadow Clone = Invisible Clones That gives pretty much any ninja access to budget Limbo clones apart from they can be touched and sensed with sound and chakra Then add light weight rock technique and now the invisible ninja can fly
On the subject of Sai... did people forget what ninjas are even for? Espionage, intel gathering, quick and effective elimination of a target - that's what these people did historically, they were covert agents. Sai's jutsus are perfect for these things. At it's core, Sai is the most "ninja" out of all characters. Everyone is either a demi-god or a one-man army.
They do explain substitution, albeit very little. They prepare a substitution ahead of time, and then in response to an attack that would do damage they reverse summon the object to their location. Presumably they use body flicker to move themselves out of the way, but that's not explici stated. Also substitutions don't need to be objects, it can also be animals (that one bunny that Naruto killed in the land of waves). There also is a limit to how much a transformation jutsu can be used to change oneself. The bigger and more different from your own original body the transformation is, the higher the chakra cost. Monkey King Enma isn't using a basic transformation jutsu with a ton of chakra to turn into an infinitely extendable adamantite staff. He's using a unique ability of his that he has innately. Those are his two forms; a monkey and a staff. For anyone else to transform themselves into something significantly different/large than what they already are, the chakra cost would be massive. That doesn't seem to apply to transformations smaller than oneself though, no matter how different from your own body it is
1. Shadow Clones / any physical clone jutsu as support for other jutsu - ex: Water Prison + Water Clone which was mentioned, then there's Naruto using Shadow Clones to help with Rasengan, but there are potential combos as well: Ino using Shadow Clone and have the clone use Mind Transfer instead of the real body, Shikamaru with at least 1 Shadow Clone trying to get the Shadow Bind while the main body fights, Shadow Clones + transformation jutsu into mouse for recon. 2. Body Flicker - pretty much similar to substitution jutsu in potential use but somehow more believable, this should be like a discount flying raijin. 3. Flashbang tags - I feel like they should work as natural counters to doujutsus similar to how a fart counters Kiba's strong smell, specially against a Byakugan because they wouldn't be able to cover their eyes unless they quickly deactivate. 4. Smokebombs - these should be used more by sensory types and doujutsu users, this is like an actual Mist Breathing technique.
It's been forever, but I remember reading a Naruto fanfic that liked to world build the world of Naruto and dissect how things work. One of those things was the substitution jutsu. In the fic it's explained that it's obviously a jutsu, so technically ninja magic, but what the jutsu does is reach your chakra out for something to replace you with, and swapping your positions. In the fic, Naruto even reverses the jutsu to replace a kidnapped character with I think a shadowclone to get the kidnapped character out. But, yeah. It's interesting to try and ponder how things work when they aren't really explained in the source material. Even if taking things to their logical extremes kinda breaks things.
see.. Shadow Clone rules were rewritten sometime after Konoha Crush arc. It was said splitting your chakra evenly amongst clones makes them able to do your jutsu but once they die or get defeated then they were gone and that chakra goes along with it. Then it evolved into they can capture intel and you don't lose the chakra once they get dis-spelled and you regain the chakra. I would like to know how and when that changed.
If they get killed then the chakra is gone, if the jutsu is undone by ur own free will then the chakra comes back to you. Intel is returned either way. I think it really gets rewrtitten around the pain arc with the sage mode clones
My picks most underrated would be 1. Fury 2. Welcoming approach: thousand-armed murder 3. Dance of the seedling fern 4. One thousand years of death 5. Sexy jutsu 6. Blood dragon ascension 7. Water prison shark dance technique 8.The Eight Trigrams: Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven 9. Genjutsu: Ketsuryūgan 10. Summoning: Quintuple Rashōmon
Hey Nick, I don’t remember if you’ve done a video on this or not, but what do you think would happen if Naruto went evil and Sasuke stayed in the village? iBIJ anime has a series on it that’s pretty interesting so far, but I feel like you’d give something that’d be more likely and detailed.
In Accordance To The Transparent Escape Jutsu ,Enma (The Examiner In Chunin Exam Killed By Baki) Also Possessed Something Similar To This Known As The Transparency Jutsu. I Think You Forgot To Mention That As It Was Shown In The 4th Shinobi World War's Filler Episode.
Hey nick what will happen if a person marked someone with a flying raijin seal and the marked person makes a shadow clone who does the user transport to
If you mark a shadow clone that disperses, then nowhere because the seal is gone. If you mark someone who then makes a shadow clone you still teleport to the original
Borutos wind style gale palm/Boruto stream. In the Ao arc in the anime, he uses it to basically fly for a little bit, in order to get on one of Aos drones. He can create two clones, each with a gale palm in hand, jump on the gale palms, and shoot forward incredibly fast, and he can do this at least twice while in the air. Timed correctly, he could hop around in the air and spam vanishing rasengan
second honorable mention thousand years of death, if you fast you can pull it off easely, imagine if coated with lightning or amaterasu, normally you can see black flames coming toward you, now try blocking a finger up your ass that can instantly kill you, you can substitute an enemy though they won but then instantly die 10:47 now I wonder why the hell it was thought in all ninja schools I mean it is so useful, you can use it assassinate, recognisance and many other stuff, you need to escape you can use it Too bad shino is usless in boruto you know the otsoku wouldn't be able to do anything 19:42 the question shouldn't all elctric users be able to do it, sasuke can shape his chidori he could turn it into a sanbon and shot it it, and that's it 22:03 could it work against edo tensei? 27:21 just poison would suffice, good luck at dogging a barrage of attacks which is they hit you well gg 31:25 probably because of plot, none would have died oh you getting hit poof you are fine, neji would have survived, jiraja same
I maintain that you could very easily build an entire KIT around Water Prison. Tiny Water Prisons around your hands and feet to increase your striking power. Massive ones to literally bowl over and crush fools with like Human Boulder. Water Prisons as armor and weapons. Using that specifically hard and dense water for your Jutsu that need Water to amp those up.
The transformation jutsu is likely not used a lot because it's most likely taught as a way for students to earn the rank of Gennin in a practical fashion that puts everyone on equal footing. Also, its effectiveness is likely due to Chakra being a substitute for Energy and Mass being created using energy to reconstruct the body on a molecular level to pull off impersonations, and I'd like to believe that is why there's not really a floor nor ceiling, it just depends on how much energy and mass you can convert into the other effectively, and just, yeah, I think it's more taught as an advanced technique to, again, level the playing field for graduates, but also that it could be applied to disguise themselves as someone else and potentially make an enemy think that they're someone else who's half-slumped and in their final moments and just leave you be so you can run away after they leave. I also think it's not used a ton because clans push Gennin aspirants to learn their clans secret jutsu and by doing that they kinda lose a proficiency for the transformation jutsu over time and more or less rely on clan techniques and I'd say that outside of Naruto, the clan that seemingly does exactly the thing you describe are the Akamichi, but they take it to an nth degree hence their extreme changes is body size and strength possible for them via their caloric conversion. Either way, I think it has to do with Chakra reserves and specific techniques that someone from other clans focus on the most causes a loss in proficiency among most major characters in Naruto. Also, it kinda makes me wonder how Rock Lee got through and onto Team Guy with the Gennin rank since he completely lacks any capability of producing any form of Ninjutsu, or at least that's what they say at the beginning of Naruto where he is first introduced... possibly Guy pushed for it, maybe pulled some strings, and also it's possible that he just aced enough of the rest of the Gennin exams at the school to average out to just barely passing... maybe.
The way it's portrayed and how it works makes it confusing, but if Substitution Jutsu was a type vary basic type of Reverse Summoning Jutsu it would make sense, prep the thing you want to use to replace your body with and make sure it's in a specific radius of you then use the jutsu at the right time to swap places with it, it would be better and require more set up to use.
Nick, the substitution jutsu was used by Sasuke when Kakashi tied him up in a rope after the Danzu fight. So it would more be a reflex to disadvantageous situations maybe? Rather than just reacting to harm..
That jutsu that Danzo used against Sasuke. The wind release bullet. That was powerful enough to pierce through solid stone and was only used during that fight. Why didn't Temari use it in the 4th Great Ninja war? You can't tell me her wind style is exclusive to when she has her fan.
12:13 I'd assume because it's incredibly difficult to learn and probably requires an absurd amount of chakra control to even attempt. At least that's my head canon 🤷 I'd also assume sensor ninja would be able to detect it
The Demonic Mirror technique is such a cool premise and a unique application of the ice element. It's very unfortunate that it never got to be applied in grander scale due to being so early in the story. Like, the whole reason all Haku does is throwing Senbon at Sasuke and Naruto is pretty much just because it's so early in the story. Techniques weren't all that crazy then, with only some small exceptions. Also do keep in mind that Haku admitted to the fact that he specificly didn't aim for any vital spots and only wanted to keep the 2 from interfering in the fight between Kakashi and Zabuza. Had Haku appeared later, I think the Demonic Mirror technique could have been a lot more. Maybe it would have been able to reflect nin-jutsu on top of what it already does. Maybe Haku would have thrown ice- senbon that not only pierce you, but also apply frost bite and slowly turn you into ice. Maybe he would have been able to use other ice release techniques that freeze people or create ice storms inside his dome. It's sad that we never saw a user of ice release in canon ever again.
i've fully headcanoned that substitution jutsu is a minor space-time jutsu, probably using an object the user can visualize with Conjuration nen levels of accuracy. there's zero way everyone that's ever used it has imperceptibly fast flashstep and can cast transformation that quickly.
Yeah, if the replacement jutsu works the way he described, the user has to already be so much faster and more skilled than their opponent that they could just take them out easily. If you can move fast enough to grab something, disguise it as you, put it where you were, then go and hide all before the other person notices then you could just merc them. The only way it makes sense is if it is some kind of summoning jutsu like Ten Ten uses for weapons, somewhere there is a warehouse full of perfectly cut logs that every ninja draws from
I got into an argument with someone debating whether or not current Sakura is stronger than current Naruto and current Sasuke (who may be dead). The person argued that Naruto could end Sakura with just a rasenshuriken in sage mode and I argued that Sakura could just catch the rasenshuriken and throw it back. They lost their shit as said that she couldn't do that even though its canon that she has the chakra control to catch ninjutsu. That one fast, that highly skilled medical ninjas or anyone with excellent chakra control, could catch ninjutsu and redirect/throw it back at the target, is VERY under rated.
Well, we can know slightly how the subsitution jutsu works. In the intial Land of Waves arc that the subsitution jutsu must have a degree of setup. Recall when Naruto trying to out do Sauske throws the shuriken at the rabbit? Zabuza or Haku set it up ahead of time.
All of these justu require incredible finesse with chakra control, anybody can technically learn these techniques but there are sooo many factors in why many would not learn these justu or if learned would not actively use. *Ability to use in active combat effectively over other justu that come more natural to you * Does this align with your skill set. Like how often will you find yourself using this Justu based on life/missions. You may not want to dedicate time to a justu you feel you may not use often *Can you use this move with very little effort or would another justu be better suited In conclusion I believe the people we see using these justu because the answer is YES for all the above for them
It is absolutely criminal that the Shadow Clone technique, not Multi-Shadow Clone technique, just the base Shadow Clone technique, was not used more often for simple reconnaissance. How ANY leaf village Shinobi got caught in an ambush ever just astounds me to no end.
I assume it’s because it’s a forbidden jutsu not known by the public. Not that that’s an excuse to not letting it be known by more Shinobi. It’s only one hand sign so gotta wonder how complicated it is to just watch someone do lol
true, shadow clone technique for reconnaissance would have been incredibly useful. hard to believe they didn't utilize it more often.
its forbidden because it can easily kill the user. how tobirama got caught is another case tho lol
I thought shadow clone jutsu was the jutsu everyone needs to learn to become a genin. An multi-shadow clone jutsu was the forbidden one

I also miss the Deidara Tobi dynamic, it was great
Sasuke should have been toast right there
Susanno wasn't the strongest defense it was his plot armor
Give me something!!!
yeah, a perpetual nuke would be a bit too intense for the story. The aftermath would be chaotic, to say the least.@@altoid3453
konan's dance of the shikigami is underrated, it's basically the paper equivalent of suigetsu's hydrification jutsu, it's just unfortunate that the jutsu has to be wielded by a woman and the writer had to be Kishimoto.
Watch/read "Read or Die" and "Read or Dream" if you want to see a papermancer realized to its full potential.

Nah bro. Sakura was part of team 7 yet she was treated like deadweight and became a meme. Or learning that reviving the dead jutsu from Granny Chiyo and since she is constantly storing chakra and has super healing, she could out heal her death or something😔 @@Altaire7
You know what's really underrated? THE ENTIRE LAND OF IRON. Do a video.
Soooo why aren't every one just giving themselves wings? Or become all types of animals
Also mostly useless in combat as we have only seen The monkey King maintain it while take/inflicting damage.
oh yea. i forgot naruto lost almost all of his chakra from that transformation
@@DaJalster28 it's more easy to transform into a shurkin and to gain it's physics than to give yourself wings?
How long does a shadow clone remain anyway? Till destroyed or is it constantly using up a limited supply of Chakra?
the duration of a shadow clone depends on its purpose and the amount of chakra used, it can last until destroyed or until the chakra supply is depleted.
@@kaiyamazaki1684it creates an afterimage masking the substituted object
@ratillecebrasquedubitantiu4451 It's the same thing Shisui does with Afterimage Clones to a much lesser degree. Which also comes from Body Flicker.
but if thats the case, thats how teleportation jutsu work it would be the same as the flying raijin that Minato uses .
The ability to reverse summon jutsu yourself should be used more
Imagine if people could form summoning contracts with their allies and be summoned back to the safety of their village if their ever in danger
It would be to good
How would the summoner know they were in danger though?
@@Imugi007maybe something similar to the seal on Yamato’s hand when Naruto was transforming into kurama during the pain fight
I waited the whole video for Transformation Jutsu. Respect.
Yeah the Transformation Justus is underrated plus the one thing I never get is when a Ninja see a crime or suspect they try to describe them I mean their ninja just transform into them
I always thought it was funny that they didn't make like a 100lb club look like a sword, or make a longsword look like a Dagger.

I'm eternally mad that we never got more puppet fights that aren't anime only. Kankuro deserves his flowers dammit.
Especially give that puppets can have a combination of weapons, tools, and poisons on top of different jutsu combinations. Nick Please please do a puppet video.
"Enough about the pretty femboy let's talk about another pretty femboy"

I just also want to point out the only reason that Haku's mirror technique was overcome by 2 genin were not only because those 2 genin were reincarnations of god, but also because Haku was not intending to kill them, only make them unconscious. Haku just had the unfortunate circumstance of running into the 2 reincarnations of god that had an ungodly amount of stamina that his efforts to make them unconscious were taking too long.
So glad you included substitution, as soon as this video started I was thinking about how redic that jutsu is
The insect one is so crazy . And didn't shisui get infected with a insect ? I could be wrong though
Yeah he did
You made a good point on transformation justu, but I wonder why everyone on Tobirama's team when they are surrounded by kinkaku and Ginkaku's squad just turn into Kunis or senbons.

I cried when he said the strongest used his jutsu prowess to "commit felonies" 😂😂😂
Ehh, that would be really dumb and a waste of his time.
How cool would it be if Sauske did the ice mirror technique as a nod to haku
Imagine if sai draws the ten tails
Keep up the awesome work and videos Nick love the video

That Shino part killed me 😂😂😂😂 the guy’s wearing 2012 Kanye shades and loosing to Mitsuki 😂😂
I think of the transformation just constantly and it's uses .thanks a lot for all your content
Nice video. you are my quartermaster for combat tech
The reason why the Substitution Jutsu can be used thr way it is has to do with it being derived directly from the Body Flicker Technique. People can react so quickly with it because the basis of Substitution Jutsu is a technique that applies speed many in the show compare to teleportation.
Love your content - maybe just add chapters for these lists so I can skip the 5min intro while I’m watching videos between meetings lmfao
Iwagakure Shinobi have some of the most underated jutsu
Hiding with Camouflage Technique + Shadow Clone = Invisible Clones
That gives pretty much any ninja access to budget Limbo clones apart from they can be touched and sensed with sound and chakra
Then add light weight rock technique and now the invisible ninja can fly
That doesn't seem to apply to transformations smaller than oneself though, no matter how different from your own body it is
I love the way you explain everything ❤
Kamitari was the first thought I had when I read underrated jutsu lol so satisfying to see him get props
Body flicker is hella under-rated imo
Plus : dessappearing with camouflage + shisoi level of body flicker = nightmare fuel
In Accordance To The Transparent Escape Jutsu ,Enma (The Examiner In Chunin Exam Killed By Baki) Also Possessed Something Similar To This Known As The Transparency Jutsu. I Think You Forgot To Mention That As It Was Shown In The 4th Shinobi World War's Filler Episode.
filler is not included, only things that is canon.
Hey nick what will happen if a person marked someone with a flying raijin seal and the marked person makes a shadow clone who does the user transport to
My guess would be nowhere because it would disappear
If you mark a shadow clone that disperses, then nowhere because the seal is gone. If you mark someone who then makes a shadow clone you still teleport to the original
This video taught me that jutsu have feelings and I appreciate jutsu more now
1:15 it's a Kamaitachi, which is really cool.
Sai dropping all those slugs on Naruto and Hotaru is one of my favorite scenes in the anime. He can draw like crazy
Good stuff
second honorable mention thousand years of death, if you fast you can pull it off easely, imagine if coated with lightning or amaterasu, normally you can see black flames coming toward you, now try blocking a finger up your ass that can instantly kill you, you can substitute an enemy though they won but then instantly die
10:47 now I wonder why the hell it was thought in all ninja schools I mean it is so useful, you can use it assassinate, recognisance and many other stuff, you need to escape you can use it
Too bad shino is usless in boruto you know the otsoku wouldn't be able to do anything
19:42 the question shouldn't all elctric users be able to do it, sasuke can shape his chidori he could turn it into a sanbon and shot it it, and that's it
22:03 could it work against edo tensei?
27:21 just poison would suffice, good luck at dogging a barrage of attacks which is they hit you well gg
31:25 probably because of plot, none would have died oh you getting hit poof you are fine, neji would have survived, jiraja same
8:35 or for example
godzilla
31:00 what about the snake sage mode jutsu?
At least that's my head canon 🤷
I'd also assume sensor ninja would be able to detect it
Getting back to his roots I love it
The Demonic Mirror technique is such a cool premise and a unique application of the ice element.
It's sad that we never saw a user of ice release in canon ever again.
....wait,how the hell do you crossbreed a single cell sized bug with a bug sized bug
i've fully headcanoned that substitution jutsu is a minor space-time jutsu, probably using an object the user can visualize with Conjuration nen levels of accuracy. there's zero way everyone that's ever used it has imperceptibly fast flashstep and can cast transformation that quickly.
Honorable mention is one of favorites too very underrated
ONE PIECE MENTIONED 💪💪💯
All of these justu require incredible finesse with chakra control, anybody can technically learn these techniques but there are sooo many factors in why many would not learn these justu or if learned would not actively use.
*Ability to use in active combat effectively over other justu that come more natural to you
* Does this align with your skill set. Like how often will you find yourself using this Justu based on life/missions. You may not want to dedicate time to a justu you feel you may not use often
*Can you use this move with very little effort or would another justu be better suited
In conclusion I believe the people we see using these justu because the answer is YES for all the above for them
I always kinda assumed the substitution was like a psuedo summoning. And it's like a contract to swap.
28:28 I finally figured out how a ninja changes a diaper.😂
Im loving the one peice inserts these days lol
Didn't Hayate use the Transparent Escape Technique while spying on Kabuto and Baki before the Sound Invasion?
I hope Nick is having the best time in China
In addition to everything on transformation jutsu you have pretty much Kibas and Akamarus full kit
