    I know I speak for many viewers when I say that one of our favorite moments is watching a reactor listen to Home Free for the first time. The "WHAT? . . . . I'm just so lost" is a moment that most of us had in our own journey. And seeing it in the faces and voices of others never gets old. Welcome to the family. You have many wild acoustical adventures just ahead!

    A song nearly one hundred years old, lost to the past. Made it's come back in the movie " Oh brother where art thou. " Then, Home Free pre-recorded it. Now the song is iconic. Almost a hundred years later. Great reaction lady.🌹

      I love old songs. Listen to Turn, Turn, Turn. The lyrics are from the book of Ecclesiastes, attributed to Solomon, making them around 3,000 years old. A great thing about Country and Folk is the preservation of all of the great music going back a few centuries.

    Welcome to the musical world of Home Free! They have a huge fan base of wonderful folks (known as Home Fries). Keep going down this rabbit hole - they have years' worth of covers and originals to react to, and their musical talents (each of them are incredible vocalists with ridiculous ranges) will continue to blow you away with every performance you hear. From deep bass, to incredibly high tenor, to complex harmonies, to (imo) the best beat boxing in the world, they are one of the most outstanding a Capella groups in existence today. Thanks for your reaction - your excitement is genuine and contagious! Peace!

    Home Fry here. Home Free is the best acapella group! Not only are they technically great, but they're so versatile and just so down to earth and funny and real. They could be your brother, your uncle, your dad, your son, your cousin, your nephew, whatever. They're everybody's favorite family member, I swear. Anyway, just too much to talk about with them. If you keep listening to more of their large repertoire of videos/songs out there, you will come to understand this, but you have to take that journey yourself! Thanks for reacting :)

    This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

  • @marshac7738
    @marshac7738 ปีที่แล้ว

    Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves.
    In this song they are making a distinct southern (country blues) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
    Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Remember This", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page), "Listen to the Music", "What's Left of My Heart", "Understand", and "Road Sweet Road" 😍!

    You're not alone. Austin and Rob's tenor voice gets you on an emotional level for it's beauty. Tim's bass on other hand just grabs you on an almost primeval level of feeling. The contrasts just take your senses in so many different directions all in one song.

    Home Free is an a cappella group consisting of 5 men. Austin is lead singer, next is Rob who sounds similar, then there's Adam Rupp the beat-boxer/sound effects man, then there's Tim Foust the bass singer(a 5 octave singer(G1-G5)) and last is Adam Chance who was doing the background Didgeridoo sound in it.. and is the last man seen...Look at their lips to see what their doing...it helps with these a cappella groups....

    • @46wireboy
      @46wireboy ปีที่แล้ว

      Austin is not the lead singer. There is NO lead singer. It's not Didgeridoo, it's a Jew's Harp sound. And ALL OF THEM DO SOUND EFFECTS!

    Home Free is the real deal. They are an amazing a cappella group so that means no instruments. The beatboxer is an amazing talent and was doing harmonica, drums and other sounds. Chance (back row, left) did the mouth harp sound. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and then sing high up with the tenors. Rob (glasses) has a most beautiful voice and Austin (lead here) is very talented. They can sing all genres of music and they all take the lead depending on the song. 😀

    New sub here for more Home Free. Many song suggestions, Just pick one, All are great. They are the best acapella group! I saw them live for the 1st time Dec 8th. They did this song and yes, sounds just like it with one expectation, the harmonica solo by the beatboxer was joined by the 1st one singing. Oh I should say nomonica, since they do not use instruments. Looking forward to more Home Free reactions! Oh they do all genre a of music too.

    And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you a chair.
    You're about to be buried in Home Fries.
    Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. God bless ‘em.
    All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos.
    For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version).
    For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
    For Rob's soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.)
    For Austin's soaring power tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.)
    For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget.
    For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
    For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
    For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
    For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens.
    Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
    Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob and Austin singing Nessun Dorma. You'll need smelling salts after that one.
    Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother).
    Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
    You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

    Everything is made by their voices, but please consider, this is not a live recording but rather a music video which allows them to layer the same voice (like Adam the beatboxer to do the drum track and over layer it with his mouth harmonica).
