      Idiotic statement. Each criminal is different and to make such a simplified generalizing statements makes you sound like a bratty child.
      If a criminal is truly remorseful, has done their time, and is not judged a danger to the public, they have a right to go free, no matter the crime. What you want is revenge, not justice.

      I live in Shreveport and don't ever remember hearing about it. I'm 42 so id guess I'm old enough to remember. When was this? 1990? I missed that part.
      Edit: Yea. I was 9 yrs old at the time. I even went to NSU and had family going there before me but still don't remember this. What I do remember is my best friends mom going missing a few years later, in Bossier. Her name was Jan Todd. She dissappeared with a guy friend one night and thru were found 10 or 15 yrs later, buried in his truck at the bottom of a huge gravel mound at a local gravel company. Their remains were in the back. They still have never identified any suspects even though it's obvious it was someone related to that gravel company.
      I also remember finding out the dude I knew was a serial killer. A guy named Eric Mickelson. Killed at least 2 people and maybe more. I met him around. 2002 and found out around 2009? that he killed some people, including a girl named Kristy O'Pry that disappeared around 1990. He had always been a suspect and finally admitted it when he got busted for the other murder, IIRC.
      When I was 15, a friend of mines gf was murdered and they questioned him for it. It ended up being her best friends dad that did it. Her name was Christie Wolfe. Her friends name was Christina Casey and Christina's dad broke into Christie's window and attacked her.
      I also got questioned in a couple of homicide cases when my weed dealer was murdered and when my other drug dealer murdered some people.
      Yea. Not stuff to brag about. I know. The feds followed me for a few weeks in one of those dealer cases. They were looking for my dealer and thought I'd lead them to him I assume.

    *The Good Time Law* was instituted to ensure adequate prison space for those who pose a public safety threat. How does this man not pose a threat to society?! It just comes down to our overcrowded prisons here in the US. How the law works is that every week a person in custody demonstrates good behavior, it’s calculated into 13 days. So it shortens their prison time by adding 6 days to every week if they behave well.

    • @susanmckisson5764
      @susanmckisson5764 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Agreed. There are no little girls in prison, so he is able to behave himself while locked up; but if he is out in the community he surely poses a threat. How do judges and/or parole boards not see that?

    • @TightyWhiteyTrash
      @TightyWhiteyTrash 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@susanmckisson5764 it’s absolutely infuriating. And majority of these offenders that get a light sentence or are released on good behavior (and not just in the US), tend to reoffend again and do something even more heinous. Our justice system here in the US is messed up. Id prefer to say f’d up, but I can’t on here. It extends to not just pedos and s*x offenders, but even minor crimes such as robbery/retail theft, drug related offenses, assault, domestic violence (don’t even get me started with that). And then major crimes. Someone that’s charged with human trafficking might only get 8 years. An attempted murder charge in the second degree might only get 9 years. And a kidnapping suspect might only get of with THREE years. It’s just crazy to me and upsetting at the same time. You never know who your neighbor is or who you’re talking to in a public setting. Sorry I ranted off topic, but it’s something to think about.

    I went to university in Natchitoches and my grandmother was in Steel Magnolias. Wow. Glad I watched this. I started uni there in 1999. THANK YOU for saying Natchitoches correctly! 👌🙏
    You could cover my best friends mom's disappearance 60 miles from Natchitoches, in Bossier City, LA. Her name was Jan Todd. You can look her case up. She and her guy friend disappeared one night and weren't found for 10+ years.
    One day, workers found a truck buried at the bottom of a 30m tall mound of gravel with their remains in the back. It's been 20+ years and they still have no suspects they've identified publicly. The truck belonged to her guy friend, Jodie Toney. They had gone out dancing that night and were never seen again. Last time they were seen was at a restaurant called Sue's Kitchen that's no longer there.

    This plea bargaining is absurd, simply getting a plea of guilty to lesser charges to save court time & cost. So wrong………If the prosecution doesn’t have sufficient evidence, work harder to get it.

    I think he never revealed the location of her remains because they would have found evidence of rape and he’d be convicted of that as well. And he didn’t want to be labeled a pedophile since they are routinely beaten in jail.

    Two other very similar cases, 5 year old Melissa Brannen was abducted & killed from a Christmas party in Virginia by Caleb Daniel Hughes in 1989. Her body was never found. He served only 29 years of a 50 year sentence and was released in 2019. In Wisconsin in 1975 9 year old Lisa French was raped & murdered while trick or treating on Halloween by Gerald Turner. He was sentenced to 38 years, served only 17 years and was released in 1992. He’s been in & out of prison since then as Wisconsin residents vehemently protested each release. I believe he is currently in a supervised waiting facility awaiting release yet again.
    We live in an utter joke of a society. Rapists & murderers are not deterred, never thinking twice because of soft punishment. I guess these monsters would’ve done more time in prison had they been drug dealers. DeSalle, Hughes & Turner should’ve all been executed. Not just executed, but executed Wrong Turn 4 Doctor style, publicly, for all to see. I believe this would definitely deter predators from committing these heinous crimes.

    Unbelievable. Shocking. Sickening.

    He should of never got out. He killed a far better person than himself and he didn't tell anyone where to find the little girl was. If someone this horrible actually gets out early he should of been forced to tell the family where she is before he could even be considered. He is the only person that can go her grave because he didn't give the family that right. He should of remained in prison you do not reform people that kill children he is just waiting to do it again.

    Avery is only 6 months younger then my daughter. I can just imagine that little girl on her bike peddling around the neighborhood selling candy like my daughter and her friends did for school back then.
    Sadly 99 percent of the people are nice and decent and harmless but, that one percent is what makes life so scary for parents. You don't know who the potential 1 percent would be. The ones not on the child abuser lists. But, since the time of Avery's death two things have come along that makes it harder to protect your child and makes them more vulnerable to abusers.
    One is the kicking out of kids from malls as meeting up places to be with friends and meet new ones. The safety and protection offered with adults in stores and security made it easy for kids to hang out with each other and have a safe place to go where lots of other kids were.
    Now they only have the streets and hanging indoors with the internet - which is the other culprit. No other friends around to talk sense and caution into you while talking to some 'cute boy' who is actually a 47 year old fat loser who likes young girls. And without the safety of numbers with other kids and adults around you become a target.

    Sorry but why do parents let their kids roam the neighborhoods? I am 59. My Mom did not let me do that. I was not allowed to ride my bike In The street. I did not stay home alone. She was overprotective. I love her for that!!💜. I did the same with my sons. Even in the 70s and 80s there were monsters out there!!😱
