Honestly i follow a lot of youtubers and most Si owners traded their Si to type R and sometimes i watch them coz of racing content but really i wanted to watch more of Si content (cause thats the one i currently have) and you're still delivering that! Soooo happy to see this thing back on the road. I’m so glad that through all of your hardships and problems, you still pushed through and didn’t give up. Love your si and I strive to have the same build one day. Right now just intake exhaust dp/fp Hondata w tsp stage 1+, motor mounts, clutch masters fx400 6 puck, but I hope to have my si the same as yours one day. Can’t wait to see the gnarly content with this car. Day 1 sub here, keep up the great work Phong! 💪🏼

I regret buying my 10th gen civic si so badly lol gotta pump so much money into it just to even get to 400whp on my old 9th gen it would handle that stock for 100k miles lmao

Yeah but then it wouldn’t be the same, I’d rather build the 1.5L’s and show what they are capable of. The point is to show that this motor is still as capable to make power! 💪🏼

This man is just unlucky seen tons of L,s hold 300 easy and if you want more you can easily get more power just some upgrade rods and trubo tbh I say the custom tunes are blowing them up just need a good ass tuner
Other then the Type R engine, would you have to replace anything else for the engine to fully work. Ive heard you have to get custom axels, new ecu, brackets, trans etc.
@@geo-bm3hw Honestly, that’s very subjective. The only reason I say that is because not everyone drives the same and the difference as well with myself is I push this car time and time again and share the transparency of what goes on. Also the built engine before this one lasted 2 years, the only other issue we really had aside from building the trans was the head lifting. Holding 30 psi on a small 1.5L with pretty skinny headstuds isn’t easy, that’s why with this built block we custom fabbed for larger ones. I can say a stock block can make 300whp, but of course to what extent. Just like anything there’s a limit.
I want my 10th gen Si to be around 300whp. What do you think I should do to prevent it from having issues I also daily the car and romp on it from time to time.

I'm surprised he wasn't tried to put the 2.0 vtec turbo from the 10th gen type R. Pretty sure it be a half easy swap tbh and a lot more reliable for higher power. Let me know if I'm wrong tho
It’s actually a bit more difficult than that, you would need to get custom axles done, as well as brackets, an ECU to run it, and more. Also if we Type R swapped it, this wouldn’t be the same build. We’re here to show that these 1.5L’s are still as capable making power.

What’s the nice after you change in 1st Gear at 18:08? My Si be making the same noise and I’m not sure if that’s an issue or not.
My transmission is built so it has straight cut gears, that’s why it whines like that. If yours is whining like that and it’s not built, then you may have an issue. Hence the word “may”

Haha, depends on what year RS3. I’m sure we’ve spent enough to afford a brand new RS3, as for the C6.. yeah possibly haha 😂 But I wouldn’t have it any other way, was worth the experience! Plus we get to build something not a lot of people expect to be all that fast.
@@PhongVLG let me ask you what happened to the motor? I am aware who built it and unfortunately through numerous pictures of his work I would stay as far as humanly possible away from anything he builds.
@@Hardwaretuned We had a spun rod bearing, which is something that happens overtime too. We also owned that block for 2 years, so I wouldn’t blame the motor work but I definitely wanted a better peace of mind when moving forward so when I saw this opportunity to start fresh I had to go for it.

@@Hardwaretuned No I don’t plan on it, @ososik has already showed that it isn’t all that necessary since he made around 700+whp on hondata (Link: th-cam.com/video/NE0Qgr3TR4U/w-d-xo.html ) So I’ll just stick to the stock ECU, unless I want to add more flash haha 😂
