    Balloon Fight is one of those games I never hear about but is crazy fun. The single player mode gets old after a while, where that game shines is 2 player battle mode.

      Yea very true! I like that game a lot. And you’re right, not many people talk about it. I gotta pop that game in, it’s been awhile lol

    In my 34 years of NES ownership I had never heard of or seen that Arkanoid controller 👍

      Haha yea most people never heard of it. I’m shocked how well made it was too. Thing still works flawlessly

    Good video and fun idea. As you say, there's tons of favorite games lists already available (and those are still fun enough) but looking into the uncommon parts of any console's library is a real blast and there's always more to discover. I hope you continue the idea with either more NES or same idea with some of the other consoles.
    I'm more of a Genesis guy so I don't get as deep into the NES library as others but I've had these games on my list to check out for a while and I'd be curious if you have any opinion on any of them. Willow, Magic of Scheherazade, Shadow of the Ninja and Vice Project Doom. Die Hard was the last new NES game I tried and that was surprisingly good and deep. It really wanted you to play out the movie.

      Thanks, bro! Yea I got the idea of the video when I was talking about some of these games with my buddies and they never heard of them.
      Same, as you can tell I’m a Genesis guy as well. And I’ll be honest, I’ve never played these games that you just mentioned for the NES. I’ll have to look into them. Thanks for watching and maybe I’ll make a Genesis one soon!

    One game I like to play once in a while is Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. It's no masterpiece but it plays decently. If you're gonna beat this, make sure you have a magic daggar for a special enemy since it's immune to every weapon you have.
    Another I know is Kickle Cubicle. Imagine Adventures of Lolo if you had an ice breath. Fun little game.

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’ve actually never heard of that Robin Hood game. I just looked it up, $10 on eBay. I’ll def check it out, thanks! Is it a tough game?
      Yup, I own Kickle Cubicle. Great game.

    • @Matt-Rat

      @@VicariouslyRetro Robin Hood is a little hard because you need to explore and I recommend leveling up since it's an action RPG. You have one life and 3 continues. There is a secret password system but you'll have to research it.

      @@Matt-Rat ah ok, true. I actually like action RPG’s over JRPG so I’ll def check it out. Thanks!

    Powerblade, Gun-Nac, Clash at Demonhead, Gremlins 2, and Magic of Scheherazade (sp?) would be my personal top 5 great underrated nes games.
    edit: also little samson. I know everyone knows about it due to its rarity, but its a really good game by itself.

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Wow, what a list! Not gonna lie, I’m not super familiar with any of these games. I’ll check them out. I just looked them up on TH-cam and they all look cool.
      Yea I never played Little Samson. Wish I picked it up when it was cheap like 12 years ago lol. But yea, heard it’s amazing. Emulation it is

    • @ChairmanMeow1
      @ChairmanMeow1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@VicariouslyRetroPowerblade is just a really good sidescroller. Its not insanely difficult like most NES games, you can beat it pretty easily. I kind of like that for an NES game lol. Sequel isnt bad either. Gun-Nac is what Id recommend to play the most though, its just so fun.

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ChairmanMeow1 nice! Sounds good. I just checked the price of Gun-Nac and it’s like $325 for a loose cart. Holy crap haha. I’ll have to emulate it. Thanks bro!

    • @ChairmanMeow1
      @ChairmanMeow1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@VicariouslyRetroNothing wrong with emulation. I'd never be able to afford anything on NES with physical carts these days!!

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ChairmanMeow1 for real lol. Most of the games that I bought were way back in the day before they shot up to ridiculous prices. Damn shame, oh well lol. But I agree. I used to be anti-emulation like 10-12 years ago, but now I realize that it's the only way to play some of these rare games and to preserve them. Plus whenever an old game is rereleased, its just a copy of the rom, so what's the difference!

    That first game looks cool. Lode runner i have on gameboy and i hate it. I would say my fav unpopular game for nes is xexzy. Do a nes top 20 bro

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea Arkanoid is so much fun. I never played Lode Runner on the gameboy, but the NES version is a lot of fun. The Saturn version is way better though.
      Yes! Xexzy is a great game! I should do a top NES video. Thanks!

      Saw that they made a PAL region gameboy game. Since the gameboy isn’t region locked, I’ll try and pick that up. It’s around $30 but hey, I love the games
