Thanks! It’s actually a custom case that I ordered on eBay. It’s pretty much a DVD case with the games artwork for. Great way to throw loose copies of games into your collection. I ordered these like 5+ years ago so I can’t even tell you who the seller was lol
Man, 10+ years ago i found a loose cart copy of this in a hole in the wall game store for $35. I snatched it up pretty quick but made sure i could bring it back if it dodnt work. The guy at the counter swore up and down it worked, but when I got it home, no dice. I was so bummed because i knew this was a special game and was praying it would work. Luckily i was able to get my money back but there is no way ill ever come across a deal like that again.
Oh man that sucks lol. Yea these carts are hard to find in good working condition. I got super lucky with mine. You almost have to find a broken one for cheap and fix the board yourself
Really good video. Yeah, definitely a really fun but really tough game. It's not for the uninitiated. I'd have a hard time making an order on difficulty but I'd say Grind Stormer, Eliminate Down, Airbuster/Aero Blaster, Undead Line and Gaiares are my top 5 hardest Genesis shooters. As far as which ones I like, I do prefer Eliminate Down a touch over Grind Stormer, then Undead Line followed by Airbuster and I'd have Gaiares last of the group (but still fun). edit: I can definitely include Hellfire and Truxton on difficult chart but don't enjoy those games as much as the ones above so find it hard to say where they rank with regard to difficulty.
Thanks! Yea agreed... a lot of fun but it's a game that you have to keep at it until you learn the patterns. Solid list! It's tough to a full ranking. I haven't played every single shmup on the Genesis yet, but your list is good. I enjoy Truxton but I wouldn't put it on any top list of mine. Hellfire is AF too lol
I saw this sitting on the shelf of my childhood video store for years... and never rented it. Loved Darius and Aero Fighters, so unsure if bad or good decisions.. 🤔
@@VicariouslyRetro Anbernic will help me, in that regard. I am always open to shmups. Big recommend for SNES Strike Gunner (read co-op but careful if Mega Beam Cannon equipped, as it uses the full bar for a single shot and is easy to use weapon ammo while linked together).
I forgot to mention that the music in this game is pretty solid too. It’s a shame that the constant blaster noise drains it out sometimes

It’s fun as hell, but it can be frustrating as hell lol. You should def check it out, although a physical copy is beyond tough to come by now
