Teardrop Camping at Sandy Creek COE Gator Park - Relaxation at Angelina National Forest in Jasper TX

Touring and Trails visit another Corp of Engineers Campground in the Angelina National Forest. We go looking for gators and did spot a small one in the lake. Talking to a few locals and they can confirm many gators hang out around the boat ramps. This is a great place, and we highly recommend putting this on your to do list. When Martin Dies is full, this a great alternative just south of it (there's even a hiking trail that connects them). There's also Magnolia Ridge on Steinhagen too. This is a nice one though- cool kayaking through the cypress along the shoreline.

We enjoyed our stay at Martin Dies last year but it was very full. This is a great alternative at a slower pace.

Appreciate the sub, for this campout we used the grill ring provided by the park. We bring our collapsable rack from Academy when cooking over fire but got lucky this time.
