I made a decision to focus almost exclusively after around the era of infinite crisis, barring certain exceptions such as Joeh Loeb’s Batman. But thanks to your introductions, I decided to get the 2 volumes of JLI as my collections of DC in-between the crisis and zero hour.
And also so excited for the upcoming vol 3!
This is another Omni I’ve been really looking forward to. One of the few omnibus’s that Contain stories I’ve never read before. I’ve been holding off reading volume one until I get this volume in. Great review man.
I’d like to see one more volume that covers the Breakdowns crossover and includes more of the Quarterlies. That would carry the series out to about the point where it made a tonal shift, becoming a bit more serious.
I have the first one and this one is on the way.

This is absolutely top tier DC comics. It never got better than Adam Hughes and Bart Sears! Must own, folks.

Hahaha mines arrived up in Canada! Excited as I became a fan of the series via the “Formerly know as the justice league” in 2003! I’ve been looking forward to this volume.
Great review Omar. So glad this channel exists. Also I thought you were saying "The Sparrow" until I saw the picture and got a laugh out of thinking of Despero going by that while flapping his cape like little wings.
I got JLI 1 because of you and really loved it. What would you recommend getting first, JLI 2 or Batman Road to No Man's Land? Better story, more likely to sell out, less likely to get reprinted, whatever reasoning you have works to help make the decision.
Want to get both eventually but need to set priorities during these times.
One of my favorite moments in JLI, Batman walking through the fighting heroes. Loved that.

Great review! So happy that this is actually coming out. I can remember a time where they had only released 2 trades and the second one was impossible to find. I’ve got these stories in floppies, trades, hardcovers, digital single issues trades, as well these amazing omnibuses. I’ll buy them in every format just to contribute towards the sales numbers and hopefully we’ll then get a third omnibus. My hopes are that the next omni includes I Can’t Believe it’s Not the Justice League, the JLA Classified issues by Giffen, DeMatteis and Maguire, as well as the DC Retroactive: Justice League America one-shot. That would tie a nice bow on things (although they could include their Booster Gold issues, as they featured the JLI team).
Three years I've been waiting for this and it's finally here. Well almost, it's in the mail, it's on the way. This was my Justice League. Bwahahaha. 🤣

I'll be scooping this book up for sure. Who knows if DC would ever get to Vol 3 and 4 of the big JLI trades with all their turmoil.
SOLD! Will pick this up and JLA by Morrison. DC might be notorious for their tight binding on their books, their slew of cancelled collected editions, and more behind the scenes drama, but you can't not love their stories.

I've been on the fence about Booster Gold and these JLI omnis. I got volume 1 today, and ordered booster gold and JLI vol. 2. I read some of these, but had no idea it ran for so long. Looking forward to digging into these.
These are great.
One of the first series I read digitally was the first bit of JLI on some dirty scans. Bought the first omni as soon as I saw it and I've this on preorder for awhile. Love this era of the League, and the underrated Detroit stuff right before

I'm reading this now. I had to give up hope on the other volumes of the Trade Paperbacks. I came to watch the video again because of the mapping and I agree it's not ideal. To break continuity of stories to stick to publishing order it makes no sense

Do you think a lot of this stuff comes down to nostalgia for enjoyment? For me - I started reading comics from early to mid 2000s so there really isn't a lot from before then that I enjoy. Something about those walls of text obscuring the art. Awesome video though Omar!

Classic Blue Beetle and Booster Gold? Ten years ago, I'd have jumped on this in a heartbeat! Nowadays, I'm a bit more jaded (and have other books to buy) but I'll definitely keep an eye out, and grab it if the price is right.

I really want to get this book Omar, thanks for the overview! Any information on how to find the second printing of vol 1? I tried buying it before, but I got the first printing with all of those issues.
Definitely getting this. One question though. Did this one have any of the issues of the first omni like the poor scans? I’m hoping the first one can be reprinted and fixed as I’m not sure why they would put it out the way that they did.
Naw that would be way too much work. They already reprinted the first omnibus fixing the missing dialogue bubbles.

What is Steel doing on the back cover (between Major Disaster and Orion)? He didn't even exist when those stories were published.
I've held off on this because I honestly could not believe that we would get the whole thing. I still don't believe, but another volume and I will regret not getting the first two volumes.

Clarification to the video which kinda implied Messner-Loebs takes over the reign of writing duties: DeMatteis wrote dialogue for all 60 issues of Justice League America/International during the Giffen run. He wrote #1-9 and #13 of JL Europe. Messner-Loebs only wrote #10-13, and Gerard Jones wrote the rest #14-50. So DeMatteis still has a heavy presence in these omnibuses.

Have you heard when the spawn origins hc vol 1 is getting reprinted I thought it was this month and I’ve seen nothing.
Pretty sure it was canceled and now they’re going with compendiums. Though I could be mistaken. I’m sure Omar knows though and will most likely reply to your comment

@@NearMintCondition I also got the History of the Marvel Universe Treasury Edition with them and The Man of Steel the day before. The strange thing with my copy of JLA there is no black page at the front the first page inside being the red title page.
This mapping sounds really annoying. Not sure how they thought it made sense. The reading order for this run has been understood for years. And no table of contents? Maybe for a strategic reason concerning the elephant in the room, but still. DC continues to astound. Cross your fingers for the third volume with Breakdowns.
Would a third volume of this series cover everything? I had just bought volumes one and two before learning it was possible that there could eventually be a third omni.
It would certainly be enough to cover the remaining issues.
The artwork looks great on the omnibus paper, but I think I'd be pissed off if I was reading this and The Extremist Vector storyline kept getting interrupted by issues of JLA. I wish they'd reprint the Justice League Europe issues separately in their own volume.
