Great update. No beating around the bush with mr sheahan. Terrible news for alinghi. Must be a big effort now to get the 2nd mast updated an in the boat.
I'm figuring it is related to the sail track system. Looked like it gave way in the first break. The moment that is free it loses a huge amount of structural tension.
@@danbrown4090 Indeed and both boats in practice beat Ineos by 30secs yesterday. Can’t read too much into it, but the word is these 2 boats are pretty damn good. I’m not sure if the Defender will give 100 % in the next 4 days, but the challengers are going to need to.
Calculating of load failure from team. Then of course one design mast every team getting instructions and information for what loads they built. Only red bull having now a problem show they rigging, loads or buikt on mast something wrong calculated🤷 They getting nervous times now - red bull not really was finding problem - never some was communicated after first defect.
Red bull gives you wings...... And takes away masts.. Sorry, i couldn't think of anything funnier with the state of how things are in this world at the moment
@@PlanetSailOnlineSecrecy of the teams kills fan experience. Sadly, only Alinghi looks a bit open to public with their Fan Area. The other bases are closed off Fort Knox style and spread around kilometers of dock sites.
It's not America's cup anymore, it's everyone else's. We haven't been good in it for years and the way it sounds is this will be another disappointing race for the American's....Personally, I prefer the old days when it took sailors with brute strength and tenacity, and a captain with many years of experience in reading the winds....but....Ahh well....Good luck to all the contestants. and to the Americans....May the force be with you!
Thank you for another excellent report.

Now that was a great report!!
I am convinced that they still struggle with the main sail force distribution setup. They have been sporting ugly wrinkles all over.
It's going to be awesome!🎉🎉🎉 So close, one mistake and it's over rover

Guess we now know who will be the first team to be going home first.
super summary, pithy, to the point, thanks!
Nice... Im looking forward to it.
Looking forward to the real racing!
Great report.
All the best Team New Zealand.
Yeah ! Bring it Home Kiwi.
@@Albert_Br Thanks ! And more than likely the top 2 teams will be Italy and NZ.

@@Albert_Br Might watch it on TV3 in the morning unless I miraculously wake up at those unsociable hours, lol.

Ouch.
Something is fundimentally wrong at Alinghi.
This is KARMA alinghi for hiring coutts and butterworth years ago
Saw the mast coming in and couldn’t believe it’s a mast they tow. Pretty much game over if they don’t get the load numbers right.
ernesto should have tightened the "allen key"😂

They clearly habe a design weakness...none of the others have had a problem with thier masts.
American Magic might be less sad now that Alinghi hired their designer away (and who designed Patriot I with a large rudder vibration).
Terrible for Team Alinghi. Hopefully they will be back asap 👍🏾🙏🏾🇳🇿
Hahahahahaha
Where was the mast made? I wonder what could be happening?
One design masts all made in NZ. Teams can enhance from the basic model but staying within guidelines. This all, of course, means nothing to me.
Cue Matthew Modine at al carrying their spare mast into the Alinghi compound singing "waltzing Mathilda". 🦘🦘🐨🐨
2 days for the start
They should of bought a NZ design like the French
So should everyone aside from the Italians by the look of things!
Would it be ironic if the French beat ETNZ
My guess they are the slowest boat, now over pushing.
Maybe Red Bull doesn't give you wings after all!
They should add Adrian Newey as Designer’s
It's 2024... still images?? We want to see the actual footage, not just talking about it
No videos are available as yet - the event is still in practice mode - it’s coming though

I want the traditional sailing boats back!!!!
I thought they weren't allowed to practice race together
Think they can but only for a limited amount of time,
Why is it called dismasted not demasted?
Yikes...
Doing something wrong
Looks like their campaign is effectively over

if i cant watch the crew ..... im not watching
And yet, here you are
So paint drying more your thing... ?
When will the Americas Cup boats get back to something recognizable again? The entire foiling thing is getting old.
Plenty of other sailing classes to enjoy but this is F1 baby!
Foiling is the present and. future. End of
Nah .... watching hours of paint drying on the water is old.....
Still shots??!! A real let down on video coverage that is usually so much better than this. Come on, you PS can do much better
No video available yet - organisation still in practice mode but it’s coming once racing starts tomorrow
