Great video.. love your work and your methods. I found these cool little abrasive sanding needle type things at my hobby store. They are really good for this type of project. They can be expensive but if you take a super fine grit model sand paper and clue it to tooth picks they do the same job.
Thanks for the vid Poundz. I found that clear nail polish, yes clear. Will strip paint very well without damaging the plastic. Nail polish remover can be a hassle unless diluted. Clear nail polish right out the bottle.... spread on, wipe off. Made my life a whole lot easier. Cheers.
i know you're probably super busy and don't have much time to respond to comments but I wanna say thanks for all the tips you given it really helps. BUT - when breaking down figures, sanding and panting. how do you get the figures re-assembled without the heat thats needed to reapply joints not messing up with the paint?
tjis helped me so much I painted the marvel legends retro wave cyclops to look like the giant size xmen he looks very good I painted him since the actual figure looks the same but is like 40 or something like that
Wsp boss appreciate the tips. Ik you do strictly Spider-Man but can I have your opinion on painting the ML retro Thor Ragnarok boots? It ain’t nothin crazy im just tryna make it a brighter yellow. It got a calf swivel, so do I have to sand anything down? Appreciate any help.
Yo I hate to bother you with more questions but I figured if anyone knew the answer it would be you. I'm making my first attempted on doing a custom Speed ball figure and was wondering if you can recommend me some paints and possibly some hints or suggestions on how to get the best looking design
O your great at fixing figures so i need your help. I have the new version of symbiote spiderman(kingpin wave) and his arm broke. I tried to get the arm out of the butterfly joint. I took a break from it so my brother tried used A DRILL! and he left a mark. And his symbol was messed up so how do i get rid of the mark and what paint do i use to repaint it. Thank you
Joseph Rollins I take apart arms, hands, feet, lower legs, upper thighs, I also remove pins on arms and legs depending on the color needed. I never take a torso apart or remove the upper torso with another lower torso
Hello Poundz978, I have a question for you. What type of sandpaper is best for sanding down joints to prep for a figure repaint? I ask because about a week ago I finally got my TASM 2 Marvel Legends figure & I wish to repaint it to be movie accurate, since the default colors are way off.
Great video. I finally started back up on my 2nd custom. Can you recommend any figures that have a harness that looks like suspenders that I could swipe for my custom? Or a figure or something to use that has somewhat softer plastic that I could make into suspenders? Thank you, and again, great video, very helpful.
I just don't get how you are able to sand down stuff like the elbow joints the fit is so tight there is no paint fitting in between there that won't rub for me.
Thanks for the tutorial. Trying to use this method but having a hard time separating my figures. What's your method you use? Can you put up a video about getting the shoulders and torso apart?
I really recommend u should try doppleganger just sculpt head hands and feet and drill holes that are the size of the shoulder peg like Life with Brock did
Best line work i have ever seen. Hey Poundz, do you have a video of you actually doing sanding? What sanding equipment do uou use? Do you use a sanding bit on a Dremel? Thx as always!
I’m just starting off with customizing. I would like to see how you sand the figures. I cannot find anywhere how to sand a superior octopus figure. Pls help
this is my first day customizing and you are my teacher....just solved my joint paint rub problem...thanks man!
Thank you for giving us your valuable time to teach us how to do this stuff. I don’t know what we would do w/o ya Poundz! God Bless 👍

The nail polish remover I use takes just 1 swipe of a Q-tip and the paint is gone
Thx
Poundz978 which nail polish do you use?
Your tutorials are next level. Thank you for them
Great video! Really hoping for that "How to Sand" video soon!🤞😬🤞
I actually like the Spiderman without the lines for some reason. Your a skilled customizer Poundz!
Thank you very much
Thanks dude this helped a lot, now I know where to sand and not just guess. I’m thinking of making a bullet point Spider-Man custom.
These HOW TO videos are great. Thank you.
Thank you poundz this exactly what kind of content I'm looking for thank you man
Hope I can make more of these
Your videos helped me alot I didn't even know I had to sand it
Sanding is the most important part, paint won’t stay in the joints if you don’t make room for it.
@@Poundz978 question what type of sealer do you use
And what happens if I don't sand like the chest will the paint rub off or stay

Hairdryer - heat up the holes in the legs and arms and attach … there should be no paint chip if done correctly
Good tips. Superior Spidey looking 🔥
Thx sir, I appreciate that
tjis helped me so much I painted the marvel legends retro wave cyclops to look like the giant size xmen he looks very good I painted him since the actual figure looks the same but is like 40 or something like that
Haha, that’s funny bc I’m currently doing the same thing after getting the Target Ex. Storm and Thunderbird. Great minds think alike!
Should you disassemble the fig to get better access to the areas that need sanded
Love your work man. Excited too see the superior webbing full.
Have you thought of trying a super fine micro pen?

Oh, I'm looking forward for that! Thanks again!
Thank you very much. This is great I didn't realize to trim the edges like that. That is so helpful.
Yes that helps a lot
I made a custom Nitro the shoulders always rub the paint off I wish I had sanded it first.
What type of sandpaper do you use?

Sorry to ask this, what paint do you use?
Great vid Poundz! Do you crack your figs open to do the sanding or keep them one piece?
yes.
This may sound stupid what do I sand it with? Sand paper?
Thanks man.. helped.. in the elbows and knees and ankles.. do you take them completely apart or sand when they are together
Joseph Rollins I take apart arms, hands, feet, lower legs, upper thighs,
I also remove pins on arms and legs depending on the color needed.
I never take a torso apart or remove the upper torso with another lower torso
@poundz978 just the hands and feet not the pegs that are in them right?
How did you do the fire effects in the begining

Amazing man good job
Bro what do u use to seal your figures with
Do you have to sand if you're using a light coat of primer? I could see still doing the shoulders and other rub areas.
Yes ... Whatever joint your adding paint to needs to be sanded down .. Even primer adds a layer on
Thanks for the tutorial. Trying to use this method but having a hard time separating my figures. What's your method you use? Can you put up a video about getting the shoulders and torso apart?
Love your channel man. Thanks for all the tips
Learning from the master. I would have liked to see you actually sand it to see how you do it.
do you have to sand your figure down????
I really love a Spidey without the webbing!
I wanna see more! Lol I liked and sub.
What paint do you use :)?
What sand paper do you use?
Do I use a tool
Nice man! Question though, what tipe of paint did you use? I tried using enamel paint on a startlord heads one, not long after it went really sticky.

RoboToast glad this helps

Bro i know i just ask you this question last week, thanks for making a video for Demo
The tutorial was great
Thank u
Where do you get all your figures from
The store
That's good. In Sweden we can't find any. I need superior Spider-man for my custom build.
Now make video on how to sand
So wherever I'm going to paint I need to sand?
Thanks pounds I always try to do customs but their not that good. This really did help
Glad I could help, you'll get it soon enough
Omg thank you so much I've been doing everything wrong I'm so grateful
Hope this helps s bit
I just hate how the arms always flare out and don't hug close to the body's on legend figures especially on spiderman body style figures
hola
I'd love to see this for a female figure
Someone please answer this but HOW DO YOU SAND!!!!!!!
With sand paper and your hand or a dremel
Poundz978 oh alright I'm lucky I got the sandpaper
So a female Marvel legends would be easier to start with, since it doesn't have the waist joint, so that's one less joint to sand
Sybato maybe a Bucky cap body is the easiest to work on.
A female is as easy... but requires different prep
