Have a sense that it's too tall for steep turns and that I'm gonna lose it, either slide or just fall down sideways.

      @@FeetsAndButts I bought a like new 2009 Versys650 (Candy Lime Green)
      just 6 months ago.
      I'm over 50 (but less than 100) LOL !
I have owned several motorcycles of various styles, brands, and sizes. (Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki) I have ridden a few other brands as well. (Harley Davidson & Hodaka)
The Versys650 is the most comfortable, capable, and fun motorcycle that I have ever ridden.
COMFORTABLE; Upright Ergonomics with a seat that is thick enough, wide enough, and spongy soft too.
CAPABLE; Not only is the 650 parallel twin engine reliable and capable of taking you places, the rest of the motorcycle is also designed to have utility purpose. The Versys650 accommodates panniers or saddlebags, and a cargo trunk option too.
It also has a very comfortable passenger's seat, (and guys, please don't worry about that little hump in the center of the passenger's seat being uncomfortable to sit on, because it's not made for "guys" to sit on ! ☝😘
Strong low end torque makes the Verseys more capable and compatible for carrying an extra passenger than 600cc sportbikes.
FUN ; The Versys 650 is the best motorcycle that I've owned. I wouldn't want a bigger or heavier motorcycle, and I don't need a faster or more powerful motorcycle, either. I don't feel as if the Versys650 is lacking anything. As a daily commuter or a long distance touring motorcycle, it does everything that you would expect a motorcycle to do, and it does it well !
I took a Road Safety Course, and during the Emergency Braking Road Test,
(20mph - 0mph) I did a smooth stoppie on wet pavement, (in heavy wind and rain) !
That was the moment that I knew that the love that I had been feeling for my
      Kawasaki 💚 Versys 650 was REAL ! ! !

I love it .

    • @mikevermaesen3413

patrick , goede keus😜.

I'm running Dunlop SportMax-3 Tires on my 2009 Versys650. No grip issues, (except when they were brand new). I don't want to grind my footpeg protectors completely off though, so I try to lean my bike appropriately. I've managed to put a little bit of wear into my chicken strips (without dragging and destroying my footpegs or my good riding boots).

    • @mikevermaesen3413
      @mikevermaesen3413  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I fill the tires with 3.0 BAR. Brand of tire does a lot! And the weather conditions are important! Ik ride the Bridgestone sport touring T30F. Perfect for dry conditions and by 20 degrees you can go to the max! Beneath the 20 degrees you can push a little less. And with wet conditions you have to ride carefully. This tire has no profile on de edges, so its slippery in wet condition...

Mike Vermaesen I own a Versys 650 and highly recommend it. I was in your same position after not riding in over a decade. I researched bikes heavily before deciding on the versys. I sat on around a hundred bikes before the versys and nothing felt better to me. I grew up riding dirt bikes and the versys felt like a big comfy motocross. Riding is smooth and it has enough power to thrill. Corners great...accelerates well...peppy in higher rpm manageable for a new rider if you stay lower. fun and versatile bike I will never sell.

The tyres on my bike are the: Bridgestone T30R Sport Touring tires. These tires are super suitable for dry and warm weather days. But if it's became wet and cold they perform a lot less, this is because the profile is not all the way to edges of the tire. You will notice while driving when the profile ends, the tires begin to get nervous. So.. in the Winter's are these tires good enough, but in the Summer it's a lot of FUN!!

Hello. A very nice video. I am from Mexico, I have a 2013 and it is my biggest love. I would like to see your rear tire, surely there is not chicken strips on it. II still not able to make dissapear my 1cm chicken streap.

Rodrigo Paez. Thanx👍🏼. My rear tire have no strips on both sides 😜 acually i'am riding on the edge not against it 💪🏼.My front tire i ride against the edges, except the right site of the tire, this side has a 2mm strip ,this is because my exhaust hits the ground earlier so i can't go further then this 🤗. And thats also why 'left turns are my favorite' 😬

Nice too know.. When i hit the pin under the footpeg for the first time the rear tire had a 2mm strip left to ride on, so enough grip left ;) But i don't know if it's the same by the 2013 version ? When you look further into the corner you will get more lean, and when you pull or push the handle bar ( just what you like ) it wil be easier to turn your bike ( called counter steering ) if you never done this before, try it on a straight line, pull and push your handle bar slightly and see how your bike will react ;) if you get confortible with it you can use it it in the corners :).

yes, i´ve notice that turning this bike requires more counter steering than other bikes i rode
