    I would add a few points:
    1) in 10+ years in this industry I have never had a client agree to an hourly rate, its just too much of an unknown, even if they agree to your hourly rate they will want to know how many hours so you are pretty much back to a flat rate
    2) If you have trouble justifying a value based price, suggest to the client that you build it for free and take 50% on all sales it generates for the time the website is up. They will immediatley realise thats a huge sum of money and suddenly your $20k doesn't sound too bad and makes them realise the value of what you are doing for them.
    3) This is the most important. if a client is nit picking over a few hours here and there or trying to beat you down on every price, don't be scared to just pass on the project. I often see freelancers working at low rates because the client bullied them into it and they thought that saying no to work was a bad thing. Your time is valuable, don't let a client tell you otherwise.

      Love these points! I'll have to try the strategy you said in number 2. Yes, eventually you get to the point where some projects just don't make sense.
