I like the crack lines actually. And the two different colors are also cool… happy accidents as Bob Ross would say.
I think because the white is opaque and the blue is translucent, it did the crackle effect on small scale. They are beautiful ❤❤❤
I love blue! I really love how this turned out. The cracks add character. ❤
The cracks almost look like bubbles trying to rise during the curing process. I try to make features of incidents such as these. Thank you for your experiments.
That is a *crazy* effect on the lid! I have never, ever seen or heard of that! Yes, it does look aged, giving it a really, really cool effect! I like the jar! 😊💕
To get the deep pour to hold the marbling, you will need to mix in the white after the resin has begun to get about as thick as the 1:1. That could be quite the wait, just make sure it waits in a shallowish container, to prevent flashcure!
Your right! I completely forgot while making the video 🤦♀️
The lines would be beautiful filled in in white or silver something. They look like lightning bolts in a night sky to me. Really beautiful. ✌🏻🤍
I agree!!
Lovely all the way.
I kinda like the "fault lines" it makes it look unique!
THANK YOU! for making a video! I’m a boring Friday night girl.
Just started watching. I’ll comment after. 😊
You are a super star😊
LOL thanks!
Oh wow...the lid...those lines...I've never used 3:1 and I don't think I will LOL Bottom looks awesome. I'd do the lid with the same as the bottom, now seeing your test. Thank you for your tests....saves all of us some head aches! STILL loved this video :)
😂 Its supposed to look like that. Lol It does have the aged look and i love it!!!
Add a drop of black to get it darker faster. Learned that recently
Thank you Michelle, it still looks cute, the cracks gives it its individuality, one of a kind.
This piece definitely is interesting, especially the lid but it turned out beautifully love, love, love the blue color as you know it is my favorite color 😊😊❤😊😊. Keep creating and inspiring us.
It came out so pretty and love the colour xxx
Just very beautiful 😍. I really do want to get into doing this. Santa shopping for the elementary kids is so fun. They really do rake their time to figure out what to get. This would be perfect for mom or dad
That bottom is just gorgeous! Maybe the lid had some teeny water drops inside the knob and that's what caused the crevices?
Quite possibly I'm not sure, I did measure it with water but thought it was dry.🤔
I remember watching another YT resin artist measure moukds using different methods. Using rice was more accurate than water in his experiment.
Hmmm that’s interesting!
I like the bottom a lot. Wonder if you could pour the top in stages? Tend to think the fault lines are bubbles that tried to escape? ❤ the blue white though.
I loved it!!!
I like it its cute ❤❤❤
It does answer a question for me: Deep but thin walled, does not need deep poor - thank you! It's a gorgeous deep blue - love it. Maybe a "pigment" white or something thicker/heavier than Castin' Craft white might work better? Just a suggestion, I have no idea, the white just looked pretty thin on both. Beautiful jar though, love that royal blue!!! 😍
The bottom turned out really pretty. It is really strange how the top had the imperfections since the mold was good. I wonder if you let the white thicken a bit before pouring together if you would get a more marble effect since it is such a thin viscosity.
I really like them both. The bottom is definitely marble look, and the top is very interesting. I wonder if you put white pen on all the cracks.? Thankyou for showing us 👍🤗
Michelle, you can use the deep pour in your new curing machine. I did a huge deep pour dragon in mine and was able to unmold it in 5 hours. The marble effect might hold if you can get it to cure that quickly. Cobalt is my favorite blue and I love how the individual pieces came out.
I’m definitely going to try again! Thanks 😃
Michelle, when you try it again, please share with us how it turned out. ❤
Those cracks are weird but kinda cool Michelle. I love it so much ❤
Turned out very pretty! Seems silly to make the lid solid…but it is pretty! Thank you,
I don’t understand why they chose that design either way too much resin for a lid in my opinion 🤨
It does seem it would be easier and take less resin if the hollowed the center of the lid. No reason that I can think of that it needs to be solid. I wonder if there's a way to hollow out the lid so it doesn't have to be solid? Maybe I mean more like; finding something to fill the space so it's not solid resin. Does that make sense? I'm sure there's a better way to word that, just not from my brain apparently. Lol
Yes next time I do this mold I will definitely fill with something more than just resin.
I watched a wood Turner trying to get this effect. In deep poor resin, you have to allow it to start to thicken up. Quite a while before you can do the marble effect in them.
Ahh Thank you for the tip that makes perfect sense!!!!
Add a drop of black to get it darker faster. Learned that recently
Lol. Never mind about the black. You just said that you didn’t want to do that for that color you were wanting.
Just ignore me. I’m bored. 😂
LOL that made me laugh 😁
Hi I love the lid with the cracks how about some gold to full them it would make the lid look even older.
Great idea! Might as well make the most of them now right!? 😀
Love that idea! Like the Japanese do to cracks. Appreciation for faults.
I think they're beautiful! Aside from the blue not matching because of the difference in the resins. The top "fault lines"...happy accidents?!? The swirling on the bottom is probably the difference in the viscosity of the colors and the way they were flowing to fill....just my guess, and since I'm not a chemical engineer...well...FWIW. lol. But love the technique!
Thanks I totally agree!!
I love the blue colour Michelle, the mold is beautiful, it's disappointing when a fault appears, did you make another lid? Thanks for showing your video, it's hard to get perfection every time ❤
No I haven’t done so yet, I have a million things I want to do and not enough time 😁
It looks like the lid flash cured to me, that creates cracks like that. They look quite natural in that though. I’ve had some flash cures and none have been usable lol
I don’t know how though because it was a deep pour resin. 🤔
Only saying how it looks, I wouldn’t know how a deep pour can flash cure either x
It's pretty. I wonder if it's an effect of too much liquid pigment? You did add a lot and it did end up darker. 15:03 It looks like the "tunnels are a darker blue.
I’m not sure I haven’t done it again since
Beautiful color, I really like this mold shape. It looks the cracks are exothermic reaction, regardless of being a deep pour, it still happens in hotter weather. Wouldn’t the color be look darker in a thicker walled pour vs a thin walled pour. ?❤ thanks for sharing,
I’m not sure I’m going to try it again
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 I totally understand ❤️
I guess I’m missing a comma LOL I meant to mean I’m not sure of your question but I will try it again 😁
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 gotcha, 😂 well I have a progressive visual impairments, I’m sure I’m the worse at seeing correctly
Awesome experiment 💙 I liked the vintage vibe of the cracks on the lid. I wonder if anyone else that has this mold got the same result?
The bottom turned out great too! I thought the lid color was darker on the paper towel but you said they were the same so I thought it was just my monitor.
Probably my eyes I’m sure 😁
I think the sides of the first thing you poured are bulging out....
The cracked look are bubbles trying to escape
Hmmmm interesting!
Very pretty could the cracks be of too much color
I’m really not sure to be honest ☹️
I was thinking there might be too much pigment in it. Are the cracks, sticky or gooey at all?
I made my turtle and used a deep pour resin and when I de moulded it the turtles flippers just snapped off.
😡🤬😭🤯
Wow!! I’m sitting here wondering what could possibly make that happen but I really don’t know!? 🤔
Don probably would've done it properly. You should've asked him for help.
Lol you’re probably right 😁
