You know what might help with mixing up that resincrete? A wire whisk. It would help to break up the powder as you're mixing it up, and would minimize the lumps.
Thanks so much for the great tips on glueing and varnishing, you are a wonderful teacher and so comical. You are a joy to watch. All that watch appreciate you I am more than sure.
Very cute! It would be more work, but could you use something like the chrome and mirror effect powders meant for fingernails? They're created by putting on gel polish, then burnishing the chrome product on. For something this large, doing just some of the scales on the dragon egg and the rest another color could be really pretty. Like black, dark green, or dark eggplant purple etc.
I've got a silver mirror one. If you thought mica powder has fine particles, holy cow! You can see the silver dust just linger and float in the air for awhile. I use a dust mask when I use it now, until the particles settle.
They really are well done! Before gilding, artists would stain the surface red first because it added a warmer tone to the gold. I'd love to see a video on different coloured bases which are then coloured with the shiny paint pens. Maybe it'll make a visual difference.
For people in the US who don't have products like light cream or table cream, single cream would be the consistency of 1 part water to one part heavy whipping cream lol. When I was younger I remember seeing half and half, light cream, and heavy whipping cream in stores. I haven't seen light cream in decades in my area.
Silicone bowls make me crazy. They flop so much. I put my silicone bowls and beakers in hard plastic bowls and cups or mugs that lets mix with less mess.
I have a cordless airbrush that I got for Christmas, but I have never used it before, so need to learn to use an airbrush. Your comment has inspired me to take the plunge 👍
Wow! They are amazing! Great showing the comparison between sealing and not sealing! It really makes a huge difference! Thanks for another awesome video Steve! ❤
They’re fab, only just found your channel today and it’s so good to be watching a fellow Brit for a change ❤ Love the Chrome pens, where are they from please?
I have seen these Eco resin for a while but thought they weren't for me but having been watching all your videos I have decided to give it a go. I do have one question can you use the same molds for both eco resin and expoy resin. Thank you😊
❤ i absolutely love your videos! I’m just about to transition from resin to respond Crete and your tutorials have been incredibly inspiring. So thank you so much!! ❤
I love watching you and also Daniel Cooper. I’m new to the crafting industry and I’m doing all different things. I haven’t work with Resin Crete but would like to use it. Can you just make it and sell them as paint your own? Sorry if you have answered this in one of your videos but thought I would ask. Loving 🥰 the dragons I’m gonna end up buying more moulds 😂 help!! Great teacher thank you 🙏
I love Resincrete too but find it quite expensive. Would using a primer do the same thing as the watered down varnish instead of colouring it grey at mixing? 😊 Thanks for a useful video as always Steve 😊
I have a question and I'm also wondering if you could please possibly help me figure out a way to use ceramic molds for pouring resin in them. If it's possible how could I do it? Also would it be fairly cheap to do? I have a bottle of liquid latex rubber but I haven't tried it yet because I'm afraid of running the mold and not getting any kind of finished resin piece. Can you please help me with this? Also would you be interested in purchasing any ceramic molds or know of anyone who would?
The Greek root, homogenes, means "of the same kind." Definitions of homogenize. verb. cause to become equal or homogeneous as by mixing. “homogenize the main ingredients” so basically mixing the ingredients to become one consistency. Can be milk, resin create or any other ingredients really.
Homogenization is a mechanical process that forces liquid through small openings under high pressure. This breaks up the fat globules into smaller, more uniform sizes that are evenly distributed throughout the liquid.
Rather than use the chrome pen, by the refills and use an airbrush to apply. If you want any chance of it maintaining its chrome look, you need to spray paint a layer of black gloss on first snd let it dry iseally for 24 hrs. Another good chrome paint is Alclad chrome, again best applied with airbrush
Steve, I love that you are so messy, makes it so real, thank you😊
Black gloss spray primer undercoat will make metal top coats pop

Have you tried a red base for the gold tones, that is how they do gold leaf to make it brighter?
I love resin crete!
I see how I messed my project up, I did the tappy wappy when I should have squidgie widgied, rookie mistake
@@EZchairchillen yep, happens to us all🤷🏼♀️🤣
Wow, I use quite a bit of eco-resin. Now I know how to fix them. 😊

I've just purchased these pens from Amazon bkoz the finished look is amazing. Loved the silver dragon the most. ❤

I love watching your video's❤ I, too, am messy😂
I just can’t stop being messy, so I have to embrace it now lol.
Those are absolutely wonderful! I love the little dragons! That varnish really makes a huge difference.
Awesome Steve, like that the chrome pens can be used on the resincrete with a coat of varnish 1st!
steve do u put another coat of pure vanish after painting them or just leave them with the part water part varnish plz.. n they r fab
Very nice demo for sealing! Cute dragons!

Fantastic job, really enjoy learning from you. Keep up the good work.
Great video, thank you bunches!
Wow, the sealer, can you use on resin also? Pls tell Lisa ❤😊 USA, CA.
I adored this vid. But I have a question for you. I bought a small whale mould. Do I slice the mould open to get the tail out?
I have done that with a couple of moulds and it has worked. When I use it again I tape up the part I have cut. Hope that helps.
Gorgeous

❤❤❤ that egg. Cool video. Nice tips too. 🥰 I’ve got a big bag of this and need to make something. This gave me an idea. ☺️
Can you paint with a mica alcohol mix once sealed?
Hi, I have never heard of this ! It looks like a great idea ! Can I get it in Canada ?
Really cool and cute 🥰
Thank you.
Very nice. I wonder what it would do to mix the watered down varnish with the resincrete powder?
I always make a mess using that. Glad I’m not the only one 😂
I love Resincrete too but find it quite expensive.

Would you be able to spray paint them?
What color is the third one? It would look awesome as bronze or copper. Hard to find it in those pens.
Amazing tip, thank you so much. I do a few plaster pieces and haven't been sealing them first 🫣 I'll do this from now on.
So pleased I could help 😀
Beautiful 😊
Nice job!
Awesomeness!
Love this vid Steve.I NEED some resincrete.
Great video! Is there a less expensive way to get a shiny metallic effect than the pens, a specific brand of paint perhaps?
Is resincrete less likely to irritate the skin and lungs than regular resin?
Nice. I'm always afraid to use resincrete in my molds that I'm planning to use resin in again. Won't they cause the molds to become matte?
Do you still have any of the resin create kits?
Can u buy the resincrete kits in Australia?
Have you tried mica or flakes
I forgot to ask. Have you used beeswax to seal the resincrete pieces? Thank you.

can you paint that with acryloc paints?
Yes absolutely, I normally do use acrylic paints.
Can you paint them with a mica powder alcohol mix before sealing?@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts
why do you add water to the powder instead of the powder to the water?
This is me mixing up pancake mix 😂
I’ve been retired from being a teaching assistant for about six months now but even I spotted the mathematical hiccup 😁
Where do I find lets resin link for the kits
It will be in the description of the video I’ve put the discount code there as well 😀

If ya ain't messy ya just ain't into it. 😊
Homogenization is, as I understand, the process of mixing milk from multiple farms and cows. That’s it.
It can be milk, or anything where you mix things together to make a single thing from the parts.
The Greek root, homogenes, means "of the same kind." Definitions of homogenize. verb. cause to become equal or homogeneous as by mixing. “homogenize the main ingredients” so basically mixing the ingredients to become one consistency. Can be milk, resin create or any other ingredients really.
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts well, I learned it in a dairy setting (working for NWDA), but yes.
@@eilish27 yes, that part I know. I know medicolegal, which is largely Greek and Latin.
