    So if you measure it and put the same amount back in you dont have to check the fluid at 185-200 degrees? Checking at that exact temp is hard for a DIYer without a transmission temp reader.

    You should've took a swig of that transmission fluid like the Wizard did. Funny, Great video. Thank you.

    Great video man. Looking forward to your future fluid videos covering stuff like the PTU, front and rear diff!

      I am doing the PTU this Saturday!
      I also have to change the oil in the edge again.
      Thanks for watching.

      @@ThezNutzGarage The AWD Sport Edge has a rear diff and a PTU. Would you happen to know if it also has a front diff? Or is the PTU the same thing as the front diff?

      I will look. I am editing the PTU fluid change video now.

      I think the “diff” in the front is the PTU.

    Great Video!! Thanks!
    Quick question, might be weird one but do I need to level the car before draining or just driving up the front end on ramp would be enough?

    • @ThezNutzGarage
      @ThezNutzGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s best to level the car and fill up to the drain plug while the engine is running. I just measured what came out and refilled with that same amount.

    Do you think its worth paying more for their signature series fluid vs the OE variant?

      I have had no problem with their fluids other than you have to order everything online. I need to change the fluids in this car again.

    I liked the video :-) How to check the Transmission Fluid Level ? Engine running, turned off ?

    • @ThezNutzGarage
      @ThezNutzGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I measured what came out and replaced with the same amount. I can’t remember but I think it has a dip stick. I checked it cold because it’s directly under the air box. I might be in the owners manual

    HI ALL I have a 2018 Ford Edge and my wife was at the dealership about 6 months and they recommended changing the transmission fluid. the car had 30,000 miles and so I thought I would check online and see what was the recommended change interval should be. This is one of the TH-cam video's i found and I thought maybe that was right. Well I found another and it said 150,000 miles. Decided to check the owner’s manual. If you own one of these cars on page 490 you will find the recommended interval to change the transmission fluid is 150,000. I know that overheating can ruin transmission fluid.so If your car has had overheating problems then maybe you should but if not save your money for more important things. There’s nothing wrong with changing it early.

      Trans fluid I change at 30,000 miles and that’s is just a drain and fill. PTU at 30,000 as well.

      If you flip to the next page it's says 30,000 miles but you probably only drive the car on the highway then just shut it off no fluid will last 150,00 just outrageous

    Do you have to remove the air box and intake like on yours just a fillet?

    • @ThezNutzGarage
      @ThezNutzGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really don’t remember but I my have removed that for video purposes.

    How has the amzoil performed? Any problems?

    • @ThezNutzGarage
      @ThezNutzGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problems.
      It seems to work as good or better than oem. I also have it in my 2014 fusion and it’s been doing great for over a year now.

    Howmany oil litter does ford edge 2019 need for transmission

    • @ThezNutzGarage
      @ThezNutzGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I did a drain and fill. I did not remove all of the fluid. I measured what came out and replaced it with the same amount. I think there was a dip stick as well. You can go to amsoil.com. There you can put your car’s info into the site and where you choose your trans fluid it will tell you capacities.
