27th August 1966: Despite still regarded by many in 1966 as a Rugby League town Leeds United show they are here to stay by installing a new television gantry ready for the visit of Manchester United. Kenneth Wolstenholme also describes their team as injury hit, unaware that these new players would come to dominate English football in the coming years. Manchester United however are still years away from being their deadliest rivals.

Leeds showing signs of things to come. Man United however won the league that season. Some great players on show. One I always thought underrated was England World cup player John Connelly. A thoughtful, intelligent winger in the shadow of Law, Best & Charlton.
