I wish all the old football videos on TH-cam were as beautiful as these Pathe films.
I came here because of Tommy Lawrence,
Football is soooooo 😍
I did too
I came here to type exactly the same thing
1:14 The great Tommy Lawrence in action
Anyone else here after watching the bbc clip of the Liverpool goal keeper
Tommy Lawrence, yes

Me... and the other 8000000 viewers
Football players are now superstars, then they were normal. Just like you and me
Yes also
Always was a fan of Sinjun. Great player.
Sinjun had a great Enjun
As I was borne 25 days earlier, my mum held me as she watched the match. When Ian St John scored the winner, she threw me up and caught me.... No wonder I love pan-cakes!.
keepers should have stayed with green jerseys, referees with black... old times :)
Good day. Thank you so much for the video. Enjoyed of course Loke and gratitude from Baku city
Bill Shankly ❤one of a special game in Liverpool history
One of the dullest finals. Leeds true to form, breaking someone's collar bone early on. Thank God for Sinjun!
I love these old Pathe films, they really make the old cup finals come alive. Even as a United fan I enjoyed watching that.
P.S. Sinjun lol
Went to school in the 60's with someone whose surname was St John.....he pronounced it sinjun.
When it fell on the head of Ian St. John!!!
Two great sides that were big rivals for the next 10 years Shankly and Revie were both big friends often talked on the phone after MOTD.
Tommy lawrence 1940-2018 😥
What can I say... born in Leeds grew up supporting Liverpool since i was 10...
Why?
Leeds is full of Man United , and Redshite fans , scruffy Rugby League eds.
I well remember watching this game.....consensus was that it was a bit boring. One of the few live matches shown on TV in those days
It was - turgid at times. Leeds front men, especially Storey, were slow; Liverpool eventually ground them down.
Really nice of the TH-cam-Algorithm to keep recommending videos of Mr. Lawrence
Hard to believe this was Liverpool's first FA cup, first.
At this point everton were the bigger club on Merseyside,
@@NoName-jo2mm And is.
@@nenadcrnac3472 😉
@@nenadcrnac3472 biggest club? yet haven't won a trophy since the 90s and in a relegation battle....hmmmm
But just 10 years later, in the 70s, Liverpool became the biggest club, until today
I just really like the commentary, even if it does remind me of a
Harry Enfield and Friends sketch.
Boss this. And that 6.25 moment.
Solo il calcio inglese può suscitare simili emozioni ❤❤❤
My mate walked alongside Paul McCartney going into the ground on his own.
great fa cup💯🏆
Leeds were in a lot of finals, European & domestic but only won it in 1972. A great team that just didn't get their desserts. Liverpool were on the uppers with Shankly & we all know where Liverpool ended up in football infamy...😊
Does anybody know what the half time March is called?
In 1965, Albert Johanneson was the first black footballer to play in the FA Cup final. Here's coverage of the match: th-cam.com/video/u59t5QpcoMk/w-d-xo.html
Paul Reaney played too...
Oh Yes Indeedy.

Anyone who watches that and says football was better or the players were better In The Old Days is living in a world of confusion
Here for tommy Lawrence
@@redd605 where do you think I know him from
I actually go to the Wikipedia page just to check whether we had a player called Sinjun
EU TE AMO LIVERPOOL
I often wonder why Bobby Collins wore different coloured socks.
Brilliant! Oh when the Reds go marching in!
Merseyside had a great time from 1963-66 with Liverpool and Everton winning something every year and the Beatles at their peak.
Leeds were a great team. Liverpool were greater.
Goalkeepers were much more involved back then
Jeceng euyy
Here again after Liverpool beat Chelsea and won the 8th FA cup trophy
Only 8 ? piss poor amount for a club of Liverpool’s size.
@@garypayne5957 lol we have the most UCL titles in England, calm down son

When British clubs were British. I say British and not English because there were great players from all the home nations, Scotland particularly.
The influx of foreigners has improved the quality of the game but league football has lost its identity.
Albert Johannsen was South African and the game was better for it.

He said soccer? ? ?
That’s what it was usually called then. It was only football if you were posh.
@@stevefox2295 in London we called it football. They tended to call it soccer a lot in the north because Rugby was also called football up there.
Old English style of football

Leeds - Liverpool in the FA Cup and Her Majesty arrives resplendent in red? Not very non-partisan…
I’m guessing it was a mistake based on ignorance rather than actual partisanship on the part of Her Majesty.
