At 1:07:30 and 1:31:00 you can see the switch of the delta track/section which is building for the direct connection between Budapest and Subotica. This will be use by the rail freight traffic as a direct route for cargo trains along the north-southern corridor to help avoiding Szeged-Rendező (Szeged marshalling railway yard) and the already crowded and overburdened railway crossings through the southern parts of Szeged, as its can be seen in the video.

Yes, both the Serbian and Hungarian governments are promising 2h 40min from Belgrade to Budapest, when the Hungarians finish their part next year or the year after. Apparently the governments also came to an agreement that passports will be checked in Belgrade and in Budapest to speed up the process, not on the border itself.

As far as I know, the Novi Sad - Subotica express connection from the Serbian side should be completed by the end of 2024. I hope that the Hungarians will also ensure the corresponding expansion from Szeged to Röszke ;-).

@@piotergod I know the problem reasonably well. We often vacation in Serbia. Great country and great people ;-)). But the connection between Subotica and Belgrade was still extremely slow in 2020 - I think it took almost five hours. I'm looking forward to trying out this new connection between Budapest and Belgrade. Finally, as a train driver, I also drive the Munich - Budapest route. It would be really great if the 2 hours and 40 minutes from Budepest to Belgrade could actually be achieved ;-)).
Za miesiąc będę jechał tą trasą. Ależ Subotica się zmieniła. Dzięki za film, bo bym się kłócił z konduktorem Srbija Voz, że chce mnie wysadzić z pociągu w jakimś nieznanym miejscu. Szkoda, że jeszcze nie będzie otwarta zmodernizowana trasa z Suboticy do Nowego Sadu. Pojadę więc przez Bajmok, Sombor, Bogojevo, Odżaci. W Suboticy, jak zauważyłem, pojawił się pociąg DB testujący trasę Nowy Sad - Subotica. Kilka filmów z udziałem tego pociągu nagrał w Nowym Sadzie Ljuibisa Jovanović.

It was also at Vrsac, only the goods, the railways from the two countries not understanding each other on passenger transport! I have a friend on Facebook who always did Vrsac with goods! Yeah it's sad there is no longer any connection through to Romania. i took the connection from Beograd to Vrsac and then a Romanian train onto Timisoara and then caught a night train onto Bucharest back in 2013 so it used to be a real thing. It's not like Romania doesn't have international rail connections with a number to Hungary and others to Moldova and Bulgaria/Turkiye. I hope they can reinstate the one via Vrsac. Otherwise it's cool there is this new connection between Subotica and Szeged.

No, the Hungarian State Railways (Máv), plans the run the Belgrade-Budapest express trains via the number 150 (Kelebia-Kiskunhalas-Kunszentmiklós-Budapest) railway line. It is unfortunate, because the Szeged-Budapest line runs through many of the most populated cities in Hungary. Our goverment is purely renovated the number 150 line for freight use.
I hope Serbia will invest in Beograd - Nis - Gradinje (Kalotina BG) section. Maybe Orient Express come back with high speed trains in the future, if other Balkan countries invest too.

When service started there was not electricity in subotica station, thanks to reconstruction and now they are testing to see if station is ready for electric trains and 200 km/h, so from the begining of decembar we can expecte electric trains

There could be a fast route from Timisoara to Beograd but they don't care about International rail travel

It is not open for any trains as it is reconstructed from the ground up. I belive freight trains go via Sombor and Bogojevo or pancevo and zrenjanin.
