4K CABVIEW Koper - Ljubljana -- Adriatic Sea to inland Slovenia -- freight train travel

- Locomotive cabride from the port of Koper to Ljubljana was created along the most important railway lines in Slovenia, railway line Divača - Koper and Ljubljana - Sežana (Italy). These two railway lanes are very busy with a huge number of freight trains. Trains that use this route mainly transit from the Adriatic sea to Central Europe and back. This cab ride video created from a SŽ 541 locomotive which was pulling 28 wagons freight train from port of Koper to Austria. Detailed train and route informations are shown in the video. These informations include current location, maximum allowed train speed, limit speed, slow order speed, track altitude and other relevant informations.
This 4k video includes the locomotive shunting process at Ljubljana train station, decoupling one and coupling another train. Cabride will be continued by another coupled train, in the next cabview video...

I am also geography teacher and i have to say, that Slovenia is a relly nice country. Especially landscape is beautiful.

You give us a map of the trip and in many cases an aerial view of where we are starting. You show us rolling stock … you are great with this type of video.

Your as usual "odlicno fino" video brought me back to my first travel in former Jugoslavija, with the Simplon Orient Express pulled by a big steam loko ( should be former german BR 41 ) in 1958. I was a kid and on the way back, with my mother, home to Italy, from Zagreb (actually capital of Hrvatska/ Croatia) to Milano (Italy) through Ljubljana (actual capital of Slovenija,) Postojna, town of worldwide famous caves with a small gauge internal train. Then to Sezana, Opcina -Villa Opicina(Italian border former end border of the so said and sad, " Iron Curtain" with about 2 hrs stop for the border passing formalities, including loko change from Steam (JZ) to electric (FFSS). Then to Trieste on the Adriatic sea and via Venezia (Venice), Verona (Juliet and Romeo) Brescia and finally after about 24 hrs home in Milano. I thank you so much for this video contribution which really was a shot of youth for my memories with about ten years between 1956 and 1966 of summer holydays spent on the Adriatic shores / Jadranska Obala……..Thanks a lot Michael

A very scenic trip on an apparently well-maintained line. The maps were a big help! I was surprised that so much of the route is relatively unpopulated.

When you say “horn to colleges”, do you really mean “horn” to colleagues i.e. track, and other, workers ?
@@petermolloy6142 I have had a bus company in Sweden. Every time - when we meet another busdriver - we say "hello". But we do not say hello to all the workers on the road if that is what you mean. I think it´s the same "rule" in your country, that is what I remember from driving there. The same "rule" with MC.

Aprox. 15 containers monthly with LED panels from Shanghai are delivered by ship to Koper port a after it they use this railway for delivering to me in Slovakia..thanks for sharing :)

Pitanje kako da vlak ide sa lijevom stranom pruge kad sav saobracaj u cijeloj evropi vozi sa desne strane dali postoji jedno pravilo u cijelom svijetu da vlakovi i tramvaji idu samo sa lijevom stranom pruge ,ako neko zna neka odgovori na to pitanje ,zaista je prelijep pogled prirode i svega sto smo imali dok nismo sredili nasu staru jugu prava glupost politicara cao
to je samo v Sloveniji
Dule odlican video i jos lepsa voznja sa tobom krzo prelepu Sloveniju. Radis poso koji licno ja obozavam ali nazalost nisam u toj struci... Nije mi bilo sudjeno... Prelepa pruga, kvalitetna infrastruktura... Nadam se da ce jednog dana isto ovakva biti Beograd - Bar jedna od najinteresantnijih pruga na svetu sa mnogobrojnim mostovima, tunelima i velikom visinom krz Crnu Goru... Pa onda da se uziva u brzoj i lepoj voznji. Veliki pozdrav iz centralne Srbije! :)
Hvala lepo Marjane. Bilo bi stvarno sjajno kada bi barska pruga bila dovedena u ovakvo stanje. Putovanje vozom tom prugom bio bi pravi uzitak, a uz veci broj vozova prema Baru sigurno bi se povecao i broj putnika. U Sloveniji se sve pruge redovno i kvalitetno odrzavaju, za razliku od Srbije.
Nadamo se da ce biti, mislim da idemo u tom smeru... Pozzzzvozzz! :)

At 1:09:50 we see one of the main reasons I seem to be losing interest in armchair railfanning U.S.A. train videos. High horse power, cookie cutter diesel locomotives racing down ribbon railed speedways, hauling monotonous double stacks, can get boring. And what is so exciting about an almost endless row of "closed" auto-racks on a passing train? I think a region where "open" auto-racks & double ended locomotives without protective window screens is the norm, speaks volumes about relative cultures. Thanks much for another wonderful railfan video, and for keeping this old Vietnam vet happy. Good Luck to you, sir!

Great cab ride Dusan!Thanks!Btw just for info.. the computerized voice you can hear is the PZB I60 currently in use in Slovenia.Its an much older version of PZB90 that Germany uses nowdays for train protection below 160Km/h line speeds.
You're welcome! Yes, PZB Indusi I60 which is used in Slovenia is very similar to PZB I60 sistems in other former Yugoslav countries. It was created on the former PZB system used in former Germany.

After viewing the video a second time, I do have another question: The train you are coupling to for the return trip has another locomotive attached to the consist. Here in the US, several diesel-electric locomotives are connected as a "mutual unit" or one locomotive. There is a control cable that connects all the locomotives together. The head locomotive then has control of the other units as to throttle setting, forward or reverse, etc. I assume you have something similar? Thanks. Great video!!!
