    For those that say it's not the original, I would have to agree. It starts when you want it to. It goes when you want it to. It stops when you want it to. Rode the original when it was new, back in the day, and rode this one two days ago. Bringing home my new 2018 in two days. Throw a leg over, if you have a mind to do so. It's not a Harley (got one of those already). It's not a ninja. It's not a goldwing. Its a Z. And by golly it's a piece of perfection in so many ways.

    Adam, nice reviews on this bike, it's really a beautiful bike & looks like it's a blast to ride, I love these retro bikes, nice job. It looks like a good bike for street riding. Really enjoy your channel.

    Great review - like the balanced approach. How would it compare to an XSR900?

    Nice video. Not crazy about the view from the rear showing your back.

    Adam as always excellent production value. Would love to see more pillion reviews added in. A female perspective is always nice. It is a growing market segment.

    They weren't in the doldrums exactly. They had the 2 stroke triples that were rocket ships in acceleratuon. Nope, not long distance bike for sure. But they would eat just about anything at the time in the quarter or stoplight to stoplight. Lots of fun but the Z1 was a game changer for sure. No doubt. I'm buying one of these.

    I'll take the black version. Providing they put on the polished rims from this one

      same here! But im thinking a wheel specialist can make them look exactly the same as on the red/brown version ? I doubt kawa has the wheels as an option.,

    If the temp ever hits 50 in Chicago again I'm going to demo one. Need to see about the flat spot off-idle in first for myself. Like a lot of people it's the first bike I ever fell in love with

    • @natashahancock9896
      @natashahancock9896 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flat spot? What flat spot? Throttle is very sensitive In places, yep, just like the shaft drive 550 LTDs in the mid 1980s.
      Just like the ZL600 and 900 Eliminators of the late 1980s. Just like the larger Spectre 1100. Just like the late 80s V Max. Just like....bikes. Everyone should learn their bike. Learn the bike, like experienced riders will (others should observe this wise practice). A riders inability to Manipulate the controls of this finely crafted, magnificent motorcycle should get a 250 Rebel. Or a car, and shut up...bitches....
      Oh no! Another flaw! Stop at a light and keep you feet on the pegs and it falls over...900rs is garbage.
      Go get your bike dude, it's a good one.

    The suspension on the Z900 got very good reviews, the Z900RS has even better suspension and it can be adjusted in more ways than Z900. I like the review, but i dont get this "its not that sporty" thing, this bike has about the same engine as Z900 but with better brakes and suspension...and the z900 is very sporty.

    I wouldn’t change the exhaust either. This is the first bike Kawasaki tuned the exhaust for a certain tone they wanted. If you change it, it will be louder but might lose that cool tone.

    Thank you for your insight, how and what would you recommend for the suspension to possibly upgrade?
    I am up in the air between this and a T120, both retro but different bike concepts though they do make me smile just looking at them.

    The left hand power of Zeus. LOL. On the plus side, old school bikers have great left forearm strength.

    if they would have made the changes you say, the price would have been $11k+
    this bike is probably the best performance per dollar in a long while.
    ...and it looks great

    its very good looking bike sounds like it goes as good as it looks as far as the rider is concerned,the original old z900 handled awful wallowed vibrated and did not work well at higher speeds.

    You can disable the ABS. The default is ABS 1, then ABS 2 for a less aggressive throttle for poor traction situations like rain or gravel, and then off for no ABS.

    • @raymorris952
      @raymorris952 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No fella, that's the Traction control that you can turn off , KTRC 1 2 and off. That does not turn off the ABS .

    Hope Kawasaki brings back the Eliminator. It was the ultimate sleeper of a cruiser

    • @natashahancock9896

      Hell yes, 900 eliminator and the zl600

    • @natashahancock9896
      @natashahancock9896 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Had the eliminator and the zl600. Fine bikes, and I miss them both. Lost the 900 to an ex, and they couldn't extract enough of the 600 from a t boned Nissan truck to save. 900rs rides similar to me.
      Mine is my fave of of 7 in the barn, unless doing jumps or gravel roads.
      Go get it, you won't be sorry

    Good review! But t'aint nowt like the original, too short, exhaust wrong, water cooling, injection, etc. But I agree it looks good but nothing like the original one, which is still the Mona Lisa of motorcycles.

    Kawasaki has done this three times the 90s zephyr the 2000s zrx and now this one. It's cool but not a new concept just a new bike

    Purdy near perfect stanard retro bike. Paint is stunning for a non-Harley.
    Two things bug me about it.
    1. Cheap, round reflectors under the seat. That in itself wouldn't be so bad if you could just unscrew them, but they leave behind these hideous coat hangers that were welded to the frame.
    2. That tacky radiator cap staring back at the rider non-stop. I get it on a $6k SV650, but not a $12k bike that is trying to compete with Triumph and Ducati.
    I'm not a big inline 4 fan, but I have a Versys 1000. What it lacks in character, it makes up in practicality.

    • @therealstokes
      @therealstokes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      saddlebag The coat hangers are removable.
