Ow also as an edit even if you do everything right it will still SOMEHOW jam up with a random piece of Pyrite no idea how. So for anyone watching this years down the line. The Silicon Crucible design will break 99% of the time. If you want it to work then you need to plug it in in a certain order and way. The best way I have found is that the lead must be plugged in first and it must be plugged in to the sorter. Then you need to allow the lead to fill for a bit before plugging in the other two lines.
interesting enough is the fact that sorter (& i.sorter) are also 100% throughput if you have exactly 2 types of ressources on plastanium conveyor (overflow and underflow works perfectly too and with the same purpose => they split the 2 ressources, but sorter gives a bit more control in that niche case)
btw you can also do the phase with just titanium conveyor belt using your trick with the crucible :) bXNjaAF4nEWPXU7DMBCEZ/2TpBSEOAASFwgSHIMnrmBS0xpRu3LcVhyZQ0DYtQXsyzeanR3LuECnYKLbe6yed272d4/3D1hv/DzlcCghRaDDTQnFxXDcj1OKJ/+RMi4Pkh7P3p18xvVLDput/19fJbZf39N53LriMbwd41TbujnlwhfALeoogBpUg/4FidSsK3SDabACI0liUANn+TOwPVc+Lcv3J9dYySiG7RcetJNOoBmqgR8T00AZ9GySQMtukHLDqOYgpmUY7l2TYlV7v2qvxQrEC0Oi1J/SrHr6AYFHNFs=
1:47 HOLY MOLY THATS EPIC. So can you do this with silicon too? Edit: Oh wait you can it's 3:51 but instead it's coal-sand-sand or sand-sand-coal configuration and silicon smelters of course. VERY USEFUL AND EASY THANKS. BY THE WAY, IT'S WORKING ON NORMAL SORTERS TOO. YOU MIGHT CAN DO SOME CRAZY STUPID STUFF WITH THOSE TOO.
I don't see how this changes things. Your last example showed the overflow back feeding. That is how it worked before. Your other examples had full belts so it was not possible to back feed. Will this still work with partial belts?
Regarding the metaglass production, your router is placed after the Metaglass kilns to facilitate throughput but it placed next to one of the kilns. Will this cause clogging, or will it function normally as there is only one material?
It will work normally. Perhaps because metaglass is produced by kiln, it is never sent back and so it does not cause any problems, or maybe it is because there is always a place for the material to leave and so it is redirected to that place.
Greay update, smaller designs and the plastanium conveyors work better now too! But.. 1:35 Nope 2:04 shouldn't this design end up clogging because of the double materials ?normally it won't because it alternates BUT a common occurrence is that one ressources will lack (especially for silicon)in which case the design WILL end up clogging, and you will need to manually fix it 3:05 sorters don't have limited throughout like on the old v6 snapshots because insta belts were already fixed , so we can use them and make everything even smaller 4:37 this will clog up as the pyratite goes to the overflows right ?just like in 2:04, it will end clogging the design as these crucibles are very item hungry
I dont rlly think it will clog at all; since overflows and his twin doesnt store anymore and accepts on all sides instantly, but on the contrary it would initially waste some resources but wont accept anymore if junctions have stored enof.
The silicone crucible design at 4:37 does clog eventually. It takes some time but always ends up clogging. Pyratite sometimes blocks the coal flow. I've also seen Pyratite block the lead line at the entrance of the right side Pyratite mixer.
I do not like the silicone smelter at all, because I worry that it could clog if a certain shortage were to happen, but I'm not sure which one. I will test it tomorrow and see if I can clog it.
I have had problems with this blueprint. I don't know exactly why, because junctions are opaque, but when it is allowed to backstuff, one or more of the silicon smelters may run out of sand and not refill.
Not gonna lie, but all schematics in thumbnail will eventually stop working due to silicons going in junctions just change junctions into bridge conveyors
i'm on the latest pc version and it still doesnt work properly. i can reproduce most of what's in the video but the reality is that if you let it run it willy very quickly break and go back to having the resources on separate belts

well when u select nothing or something thats not what one of the two are carrying
I used this to replace junction
exactly what i was going to comment

I actually like how anuken/anuke gave overflows a sorter mechanic where they no longer store anything and has instant velocity for good throughput
Just learning Mindustry. Thanks!
Nice explanation, this is gonna be useful in doing some pvp
Yeah hopefully this helps and people start making better use of this :)

2:30 sili smelters dont get enough sand either but you can fix it by combining two titanium conveyors with another overflow.

Now you can overflow chain
The overflow clogged up to shut your smelter!
I LOVE THIS
i used to apply this design, but didn't work. i installed junctions and sorters, but the machine (for example smelter) didn't receive another material
