    You legend!!! The comment about the coordinate system being on centre (timecode 0:33) has saved me untold pain. I've got the new 4th axis to setup and have been getting weird g-code as my zero was top of stock. I've been chasing my post for errors, trolling old forums, this fixed my problem in seconds - Thank you!!!!!

    Dam Good Video boys , not sure how i miss this video when it came out. I wish Fusion would give Tool Orientation to the Home/Hobby folks. i understand we cant have it all for free, but i cant justify the cheapest subscription for a very part time hobby running a homebrew sieg X2 cnc. For now i am probably going finish my home brew 4th axis converted rotary table and i will have to merge all of the gcode in one file with manually adding the Gcode to rotate the axis in a ... 3+1 fashion. That would be a starting point. Thank you guys for all the videos Keep them coming

    Now I'm considering adding 4th axis. It makes things so much nicer than having to do multiple op changes. Less error too. Thanks John.

    Thanks very much. Please keep these 4th axis content coming, it’s super useful for us guys with a 4th, but not experienced at using it.

    Love the collet chuck - can switch ops easily btw lathe, rapidturn, microarc and collet fixture.

    Great video. I would like the see even more 4th axis content . 🙂 is the clamp made out of aluminum or steel?

    Just curious, what do you like better. Fusion 360 or Solid Works? I was learning both a few years ago but chose fusion 360. Fusion 360 made more sense to me. I saw in your earlier videos you were using mastercam and solidworks. I'm asking because you have experience with both.

      SolidWorks was $5k + over $1,200 per year in maintenance - and, at the time, it did not include any CAM. It has more powerful CAD, but for everything we do, Fusion 360 CAD is more than capable. And the Fusion CAM is excellent.

      @@nyccnc Awesome, thanks for the reply. That was my impression too. I like how I can export an STL file to 3D print, check fitment then generate CAM in one program. Just didn't know if I was missing something with solid works. I work in IT but this CNC stuff fascinates me. I've learned allot from your videos, thanks!!!

    curious as to why you used scalloping instead of designing a part you could 2d contour on 4 sides.

    John, nice video, thank you! About your training, is there any chance to watch some recaps at least? Because I live in Ukraine and it's zero chances I can participate in person. It would be hard even in better times, but obviously now that's impossible) I really love your content and I appreciate the way you make it understandable even for un unexperienced users of F360.

    Pro tip, TH-cam has a dark theme. Always throw's me off when someone screenshots something I have in dark theme that isn't on theirs. Great video as always.

    And the hands-on classes are sold out already! Congrats, but I'm sorry I missed them.

    Why no tail stock available for the microarc? You can't put features on long parts. Also, why not make the spindle take 5C or MT2? It's just a thru hole.

    • @Dyna78
      @Dyna78 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I remember correctly, the Micro arc does not have a through hole. Why not? Probably the same reason there's apparently no tailstock available, no internal collet option, etc...they likely had an engineer design it, not a machinist.

  • @joshedwards6205
    @joshedwards6205 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could you use a live center on the opposite side and then pull the stock out further and machine maybe 2 clamps at the same time?

      he should almost be using a end support at the length he is already at. Doubling that length would get pretty noodle as material is removed

      @@scottkip3645 it does not have t be a "tormach" one, ali express will sell an adjustable height tailstock for $30 i think, lock in the height once and off to the races!

    Complete novice opinion warning. Why not start with the center hole and your fixture isn't sticking out so far. Rotate 90°
