      That's only because they're a rip off in the first place, first upgrade... bearings, I mean ffs 🙄

      @@DUCato-ed3fw I wouldn't call them a rip off. Not everyone is going to race them seriously. Tamiya has some high end rc's for that. And there are other companies that make affordable racers if that is your thing.

    Brilliant video mate, just getting back in to rc again after a 15 year break, loads to learn again. Your video has made my mind up the Tamiya tt02 b for my first off roader. I’ve subbed, liked and turned notifications on. Keep up the good videos mate 👍🏻

    Great overview. Did the same once with my DF-02. Great fun. Upgrading is fun. Though my stock DB-02 costs less and runs 1000 times better 😂 Still modifying it and changing it. Had to give up the alloy arms. And the brushless motor. Got a stock TT-02B and a new TT-02B MS coming up ☺️

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nordic RC Visions I’m thinking the same about pulling the brushless motor out of this. The chassis just can’t take that kind of power.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RCKicks The TT-02B is definitely stronger than the DF-02. It’s like a chassis with all the weak points from the DF-02 bettered. But yeah, maybe still not strong enough. Will try some brushless set ups in mine, but yes, maybe I will end up changing it back again 😀

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nordic RC Visions I have the same power in a Schumacher K1 Aero and it makes the TT02B feel like a Grasshopper when it comes to handling with that kind of brushless power. I think I need to work on the shocks to make it feel more stable.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      RCKicks Yeah, I know what you mean. Even with my old and outdated DF-03 and DB-02 ’s I can really feel the difference compared to my other 4WD buggies, like the DF-02 and TT-02B. I really like the small Tamiya/TRF blue alloy upgrade shocks originally made for the DF-02, DF-03, DT-02. So smooth. Will put a set on my TT-02B MS too.

    Put the dampener oil that comes in the model, I’m the aluminum dampers. That’s what I did. I wanted easier adjustment if the spring for tuning, and a bit more rigid of a shock. The stock ones are fine, but a PITA to adjust and tune. Aluminum dampeners are just more convenient.

  • @johnnycoolness
    @johnnycoolness 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Also missed the alloy steering and importantly (for me cause I like those ones with the X brace) the alloy arms.

  • @kevinlong2167

    I have the TT02B Plasma Edge 2 (same chassis different body). I have a 10.5t Hobbywing motor in it and it runs about 30mph with the right motor timing and throttle limits on 2s lipos. Not tried it on 3s. To make sure the chassis could take the power I did a few upgrades: universal drive shafts, new bigger pinion, alloy drive shafts, alloy motor mount, alloy shocks, carbon shock stays and new slightly bigger wheels/tyres.
    Could spend a lot more and as you say prob just buy a Schumacher Cat Evo for racing, but where would the fun in that be?!

    You can buy all the hop ups in one box now it’s £85,as for everything else there is so much you can change and get it set up for really good racing,I’ll add a few things you can change,get a shorty battery and put it towards the front it will keep the front down more and balance it out especially if you have a light servo,also adjust the toe out on the front it helps the car to dart fast in the corners,run a hard spring in the rears helps the rear to get a bit loose and have medium front springs,run a heavy rear diff lube 50k at least,loose the servo saver it’s a big deal to get rid of the slop,get the 68 spur gear with 21 pinion 😉 car will then be awesome on track
