Whenever I finally get to visit New York City, I’m going to make this exact playlist and just walk around. This is what I dream of when I think of New York City.
@@maddy.evelena7377 I understand that, a lot of my extended family lives close to Manhattan. I’ve heard bad things, but I still want to do some of the touristy stuff. And I want to visit during Christmas.
@@hollyhouk9119 Honestly I'd ignore Manhattan almost in it's entirety unless you really want the tourist stuff like Times Square. The atmosphere is just crowds of tourists, street vendors, and insane prices for most of the borough. If you just want to walk around and be in that real NYC atmosphere head to a nicer area of Brooklyn or Queens
It’s sad what’s happening in the USA 🇺🇸 right now 😔. Thank God for TH-cam that I could just get out of this world 🌎 for a moment. With these amazing music and videos of the past. Hope everything recovers again.
Theres something so nostalgic, even for a guy like me born post 9/11 in 2001 who could barely relate to an era like this back then... yet i am an old soul. I love history, and seeing what was and all that was. That first song that played, really homed in the nostalgia factor for me. Felt like an old man dancing gently with his wife to an old song on the record player that played back in their day to show off to their grand children.
New York is one of my favourite Cities - I'm from Ireland and last visited in 2010 during the Holiday season. A great city, tremendous people - stay strong everyone. Thank you for this video!
@@christophermacintyre5890 I guess so, I really enjoy this music and I listened to it while I was in New York and while working on my vids, it really means a lot to me, thank you.
If Kevin McLeod ever decided to monetize his music, probably about 50%-60% of TH-cam videos would be demonetized over copyright claims. Thank goodness he is a benevolent king.
I have been having this strange feeling for about 10 years now and that is like I lived or I was supposed to be born in NYC somewhere between 1910 an 1960.
NYC between 1910 &1960 was the pinnacle of civilization. It always had its poor areas and problems, but even they had an interesting character. And those incredible skyscrapers that are all but invisible now with the glass and steel cubes that overcrowded the skyline in the past 50 years. I must agree with you, NY in the timeframe you mention was the center of the world.
Thanks. I guess to get ahead I would need some videos with cats doing silly things, Top 10 Lists, or politics (God forbid). However, I'm just not interested in making that type of content.
i hope one day i can go to New York City and play this. Im going to reply whenever i fly there (its probably gonna take long since i live at the other side of the country)
Please put together something with Kevins ‘Intractable’ in it. Is there anything else like this track which I think is one of the best pieces of music i have ever heard . I first heard it as the soundtrack to black and white US photo series on You Tube . Ive searched for other material like this but no luck yet.
@@davidnoelwinder8368 Sorry, I haven't had the inspiration to make any videos lately, plus the fact that the removable drive with all the files I had for making some new videos crashed. If I can retrieve those file I will be back in business.
@@christophermacintyre5890 Hi Christopher, and a very good morning from here in England. I really hope that you find your mojo again and I’m sorry that it has left you but I’m sure that you will see from your subscribers that we need your work and I’m certainly one of them. All the best , Dave
Anybody see a pothole? Can it be that there was a time when the streets were in this good of shape? Goes to show you what a city can look like when you have a populace that is civilized. And a workforce that cared about quality workmanship. Gone with the wind !
What you can do is Google search "The Prelinger Collection" and "Internet Archive - Jeff Kaplan". Also, if you go to the end of this video at the 37:30 mark where I list the credits. If you pause the video at that point, you can put the titles of the specific videos I used in Google search. All of these should hopefully still be on the Internet Archive site. Once there, they have more information about the archival footage.
Don't credit me because the viceos don't belong to me. They come from the Prelinger Collection, curated by Jeff Kaplan. archive.org/details/prelinger, or search Google under "The Prelinger Collection" and "Jeff Kaplan". Or, go to the end of the video at around 37:30, where I give a full list of credits. You can put those titles in Google Search and they will come up for the Internet Archive as well.
I downloaded the items from the Prelinger Collection at the Internet Archive: archive.org/details/prelinger. If you go to the very end of this video (37:27) I have a list of credits to aid in your search.

Not going to lie but as a teenager in 2020 I would love to go back in time during the 1920s, the architecture, music, cafes, clothing is amazing.
