My great grandparents had a collection of swing and jazz albums. (Gran-Granny was a flapper, too!) When I was too young to know what I was doing my Gran-Granny would dance to this music and I would imitate her until I knew the steps and the turns. She would laugh and clap and kiss me when I finally got it right. Now that she's gone I sometimes get teary-eyed thinking of what a joyful person she was. I will always love swing as much as I loved her and watching her dance... with a cigarette in one hand and a glass of gin on ice in the other. She lived to be 107yrs old!

Saw the live concert of Lionel Hampton - in Luton, UK of all places, where his 22-piece Orchestar (with three drummers no less) introduced what they called 'The Big Beat' which was the bridge to Rock n Roll. 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium' was THE live TV programme and through that I saw Judy Garland, Billie Holiday, and a host of others. Kudos to Perfect Swing folks for this series. Your selection of music and quality of sound is nothing but first rate. Many young people would never hear this anywhere else. Cheers!!!
Love this comment ... and you're right, the analytics indicate that a rewarding number of young people are listening. I'm excited that they're discovering this wondering vintage music that they're never likely to have found. We need to keep the music 'alive' :-)
What fantastic nostalgia. From a time when music was music and people could actually play . Fantastic harmony . Not the digital stuff that's churned out today . Long may it continue. Again fantastic
Thank you bringing the musicality of these phenomenal swing musicians to the world. Not only are these selections remastered to give the listening experience a sense of playing right now, but Past Perfect Vintage Music pinned the orchestra and song onto the recording and in the comments. Extremely well done. Music students, lovers of Jazz and historians will all benefit from your endeavor.

I'm not sure why so many people in the comments are being pretentious about their taste in music. You can acknowledge that you prefer music of this time without bashing current music. You not liking something doesn't make it bad.
Listening to this while doing my history homework on the Roaring 20’s. Lots of good and bad about that era, but one thing they definitely did right was the music!
Listening to modern radio makes me think: "dude..modern music is pretty trashy." I am more in love with 1920's-1930's jazz swing than with any other kind of music.
we've been through difficult times and still for me hearing those masterpieces make me think that till swing , blues and jazz are here we just need to reconsider and say as long that they're lives their hope ( also all thanks to my grand great father to made me discover the ink spots )
Okay, just hold this in your mind for a second... The tune... The swing... The feeling that you've got the world on a string... And then remember that the Top 10* on the music charts today are likely a single person speaking tonelessly as fast as they can as a single metronome beat plays continuously throughout the song. *Yeah, I know there are some good pop songs up there, but I'm focusing on rap. Which, keep in mind, still had a 'beat' of a sort back in the '80s.

How wonderful.
Teddy wilson exactly like you. What a great song. A man in a all red suit who is always smiling showed me that song. Such a kind fellow. He said he does radio

I want to say thank you very mucho...Make sunrise to my ear.
Studying during this music❤️🤍
Kudos to Perfect Swing folks for this series. Your selection of music and quality of sound is nothing but first rate. Many young people would never hear this anywhere else. Cheers!!!
Love this comment ... and you're right, the analytics indicate that a rewarding number of young people are listening. I'm excited that they're discovering this wondering vintage music that they're never likely to have found. We need to keep the music 'alive' :-)
Past Perfect Vintage Music Count me in!!
I'm 13 and I really enjoy listening to swing and jazz :)
I don’t know if I’m just high or jazz is actually amazing music all the instruments and the old audio quality are perfect
The old audio is actually really nice, in a comforting way. :)
I don’t understand my fellow teenager’s taste in music, but personally, I think this stuff is the best!
Easy way to understand: every person has different tastes, totally okay
@@Emcostanza Yeah you’re right
I’m here because my 9 year old daughter asked me to play 1920s music so she can dance with her baby sister. Love her!♥️♥️♥️♥️
What fantastic nostalgia. From a time when music was music and people could actually play . Fantastic harmony . Not the digital stuff that's churned out today . Long may it continue. Again fantastic
I love this! but there's one thing I have to mention: an ad in the middle of a masterpiece? How disrespectful You tube!
This is real music. 1920s to 1950a wow. Ilove it
Thank you bringing the musicality of these phenomenal swing musicians to the world. Not only are these selections remastered to give the listening experience a sense of playing right now, but Past Perfect Vintage Music pinned the orchestra and song onto the recording and in the comments. Extremely well done. Music students, lovers of Jazz and historians will all benefit from your endeavor.
Yes, THANK YOU - I appreciate it.
Just like taking a time machine trip into the toe tapping past, thank you so much, whom ever is responsible.
takes me back to the palais de dance in Edinburgh i'm 87 now.
Benny Goodman - Wow.!!
Yrs. ago as a teacher I had J.Lunceford's nephew as a class teacher on education. He was surprised I knew who Jimmie was . I told him I had seen Benny,Duke, Wild Bill Davis,Woody in the day. All stupendous talents unlike so many frauds today.
This music is timeless👌
So many real forms of music to listen to like this, and people stick with degrading lyrics and factory noise trash. Oh well. Thank you for putting it out there and without ads too!
Just like the music they played on class train
I LOVE THE MUSIC OF THE BIG BANDS FROM THE 20s&30s40s...........JUST CAN'T BE BEAT!!
Una compilation che ci riporta all'epoca d'oro dello swing
Just wishing I was 58 then instead of now, What a much better country and time. Was born a hundred years too late I guess. 1861 would have been better than 1961., Civil war and all...
ah who doesn't love to listen to some good old fashioned swing music every day. my personal favourites are Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Cab Calloway.
Add Chick Webb and that is my all time favorite list!
Beginning Lindy Hope dancing in Paris, this is the perfect sound to feel the elegance and spirit of this time.
Tom and Jerry vibes be callin' me back to the era
I was a twinkle in my grandmother's eye when this came out...but my foot won't stop tapping
hi
This all reminds me of her. How much I miss her glowing heart
This is some good tap dancin’ music
Maravillosa música me encanta, me imagino disfrutándola como si hubiera vivido en esa época :)
Music is my Life I was born in 1970 invented the drum and 1978 invented Dj scratching and juggling happy go lucky creativet generation always love watching and listening to vintage music movies such the likes of Fred Bing Danny Kay Duke Ellington and others In the boogie woogie Hollywood arts film and entertament real Old Shool Hip Hop man or woman DJ''s and MC's 😅
Marvelous, back To The past......
True music, great music, just perfect swing!
I'm not sure why so many people in the comments are being pretentious about their taste in music. You can acknowledge that you prefer music of this time without bashing current music. You not liking something doesn't make it bad.
You know how to make a great playlist, and thank you for not ruining it with ads in the middle. You are one of the best on here. Thanks
They have ads now
This makes me think of straight good times without a dought.
Very sensual and relaxing. Thank you!
You have a good taste in music I used to broadcast some of this music off my radio station before I Died in 1933
This sounds like a good album; I think I'll get it.
This is nice stuff right here
Okay, just hold this in your mind for a second...
Which, keep in mind, still had a 'beat' of a sort back in the '80s.
most of the rap songs i listen to arent on any top 10 charts, those songs are where its at
It’s the bee’s knees
Feeling nostalgia even I wasn't in 1930's. XD Nice work!
Many thanks for no ads.❤
Reminds me of Tom & Jerry.... :')
MrBitterGirl same
8:36, amazing trumpet playing.
Finnaly! Real Swing.
I like electro swing but we need the classic one to be complete
This is one of the best classic. I really appreciate it. 📯🎷🎷👏🎭🎶. 2022
Excellent compilation! Thanks!
