    What was your favorite and least favorite thing about Elden Ring?

      Favorite. i would say the whole soundtrack: what i truly hated was all the grabbing attacks which goes through the defending stance

      I'm in love with everything in the game, but after 500hr of gameplay, it gets repetitive.

      By far, this huge world both beautiful and unforgiving, it makes you want to explore every corner and find every treasure and secrets it has to offer. My least favorite thing is most npc quests. I think the main story and a few questlines are really good, really developed without explaining too much, but unfortunately most npc quest are really bland, they don't bring much in term of gameplay or development, and at the end, you rarely feel like you have accomplished something. It could have really brought something fresh to the souls formula

    I’ve found a new style of playing this game. I start a new game with a build in mind I want to go for, then rather than rushing to level up, I slowly work through the quests and do co-op and online summons etc as I go. I have so much fun in pvp and being summoned at low levels. Also it makes rune farming obsolete, if you have fun helping other players with bosses you get loads of runes in no time.

    • @BLIVEit
      @BLIVEit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      how do you help other people with bosses? thanks

    • @josephyyyy
      @josephyyyy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BLIVEit use your summoning sign thing to answer online co-op, a lot of the time people are trying to take on bosses, it varies which boss usually depending on your level. I get so many summons for the Rykard/mohg/morgot boss fights- and then getting invaded always is fun too.

      Great recommendation, I beat the game back in February/March and revisited it this month to complete a 100% playthrough with no summons and it’s been fun, but in the future as I try to focus just on the tools I need for specific builds I was worried that my runes wouldn’t keep up with the games difficulty. Joining in jolly cooperation is an excellent way to keep levels flowing, thanks!

    I had to legit try to rewrite my mind on what I expect from gaming sessions when I was half way through. Oh my current play through I think I have found the zen I was looking for. One couple hour session now is like a few caves or a dungeon. Then I read the item descriptions of the new stuff I found and then just save and quit. I had fun, it was great. And I don’t feel like rushed to finish the game. This play through might take me twice as long as my first, but I mean, I’ve spent more than $60 at the bar in one night. I’m here for it. Big ass game. Lol

      True! There's a lot of value in this game for the price!
      I also have changed my state of mind when it comes to gaming sessions of Elden Ring. Now that I know it's length it's way easier to do as you do and just sit down for an hour or two and simply enjoy small incremental progressions!😁

    I am not yet completely through, I´ve Radagon and Eldenbeast left. But I agree, the game is stunning but at some point it feels sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread. Although, I loved every second of it but, as you said in the beginning of you "not a review" (which turned out as one of the best reviews I saw so far - because it is an honest one by a someone who got through the game), when I reached the consecrated snowfields for the first time, fighting another two cats in one dungeon, I just started a new character after a three day pause.
    And, oh boy, I hate one phrase (which made me comment this): "Let your flesh be consumed. By the scarlet rot." ... I got into the second phase any time but have been to poor a player to get through the rot bomb. But in the end, its been a fun fight, although, I´ve had to look up some hints to beat her and used magic in the end although playing as a spellblade.

    One of the things that most people find bad about elden ring is that bosses like margit have some moves that they change in unreliable ways, making it impossible to predict their moves with precision, this probably felt like bullshit to many but to me it felt like I was actually fighting a demigod fighting for his life with everything he had, and I have continued feeling this way with every boss encounter in this game, even with malenia, I died countless times but my suffering through my adventure made my victories feel the sweeter, Elden Ring has been an incredible journey that I will revisit with mods or when DLC arrives.

    • @Browsley
      @Browsley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's awesome dude! Glad you felt that way! Wish I did. I'll also gladly revisit Elden Rings DLC!

    • @Fokkusu
      @Fokkusu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Browsley I feel pretty lucky about how I am towards elden ring because I have enjoyed so many things that you can say are actually objectively bad just because I have this adventure mindset of expecting good and bad feelings as a part of the journey, to me, the pain makes it memorable and if the sources of pain are immersive and justifiable in my brain then this works. For the record, I hated Malenia until I defeated her, like this mindset only works after the experience, I enjoy the games in 2 parts, 1 while I play them like everyone and then 2 when I am finished and I reflect, every time I finish an obstacle I reflect about it, and after I'm done with the game, I look for every lore piece I can find and for me this gives a very well rounded experience of a game not just elden ring, I did this with every souls game and dragons dogma and I love doing it. Actually I cant say that me having this mindset enjoying this like this is being lucky or developed over years of gaming, whatever it is, I wouldnt change it; I used to be a absolute noob that hated dark souls once but I managed to push through that time with the pressure of a friend and I will be forever grateful to him, things wouldnt be this way otherwise. I add this just cuz it may give a hint towards this mode of enjoying games.

      Just so everyone is aware though, there are many videos about this topic but most all agree on there are no attacks that are unavoidable. I watched one of my favorite content creators who is not a challenge runner, learn to do the no hit run. It’s just…high skill expression. But you don’t need to not be hit to enjoy the fights. Especially since flasks are abundant.
