Dianna is awesome! She is an English teacher which helps her husband tremendously and her in laws. That said, in another video she conveys that she speaks well enough in Korean to conversate with others at stores etc. I think in time she will have Korean language down even more. Her husband will have a stronger command of English as well. Wonderful couple that loves each other genuinely. Great they found each other and got married! Best to you both and your beautiful family.
Oh my goodness me Dianna. Once Upon a time, both you and Kyungho had to battle to get the family to accept you and now the love they show to you and the grandchildren, is absolutely priceless! 🥰
Maybe it’s just me but I noticed how the kids have calmed down so much and they really listen to there Korean grandparents there not running around the house and the Korean grandparents show them so much love and Affection hugs and kisses and tell them how much they love them and take out a lot of time with them too ! I love it !
What exactly are you trying to say? The children of course would have a stronger bond with them because they have been in their lives from the beginning, unlike their American Grandparents whom they never met physically before. It's not respectful nor fair to be making sure comparisons between their American and Korean families .
What a happy reunion, Kyuengho's parents were so happy to see their grandchildren again. They must have missed them terribly especially his mother. Dianna you are so blessed, I cannot believe she cooked and stocked up your freezer and fridge with food for you guys on your return home and also cleaned the place. She goes all out to help you it's wonderful.
Gosh I really feel the distance of not being able to communicate in the other partner’s language and the pressure for the kids to be able to speak Korean. I was fortunate that my husband’s family is bilingual including his parents, but they still made a big deal that my daughter also know how to speak Spanish. For many Hispanic grandparents they are so disappointed in their American-born and raised grandchildren who can’t speak Spanish. it’s so important that language be passed down because that’s how culture is passed down.
Culture can be passed without language. A lot of African culture has been passed down and American Africans descendants from slaves still have culture even thought we speak English. Losing culture also happens as you assimilate into another culture.

It’s African Americans always trying to establish the linkage back to Africa and understandably so, but I think they would really disagree. African Americans are many things - the coming together of many African cultures European cultures Indigenous Caribbean Latino - you can’t say African culture was passed down. Africa is made up of many countries tribes languages cultures and traditions- What little African Americans retained and understood they made their own culture and even within African Americans there are sub-cultures. African Americans along with the African diaspora in the Carib, South and Central America are probably the most unique people on the planet.

Please also encourage manners in the children. Let them say "please" and "thank you" and "excuse me". (in English and Korean, of course).
That reunion was, as I expected, warm and genuine. The Korean in laws are anxious for Dianna to be fluent in Korean,she will be,she's getting there and the twins are doing so well understanding both Korean and English, they will soon be fluent in both languages, they're still so young. Grandma with the umbrella ,at the end of the visit, was evidence,if any were needed, of her desire to protect her precious grandchildren. What a nice homecoming 🤗

The best way to connect with your in laws is to learn their language. Language is about far more than communication, but a gateway into a culture. My parents immigrated from Korea and raised me in Canada. Although they learned English, due to many reasons they were never able to become fully fluent. Dianna I hope you make the effort to become fluent because it will make your life richer and easier on multiple levels. I know you are busy with the kids and youtube, but you are very bright and so capable. Best of luck in your Korean language journey!

I love your story and so proud of you as a Black woman from America to follow your heart. Since the Pandemic I've been following a few of the Korean Jul any TH-camrs. I've actually tried some of the recipes and love the Korean Culture. I also have been trying to lose weight and presently have successfully loss 100 pounds. Although it may sound good I still have to lose 50 more pounds. You are doing a great job with your reaching your goal after having twins. Walking and just being mobile is the key for me. I'm 66 year's old and had three spinal surgeries starting from 2001...FYI once one surgeon messed up it's ruined my life. Also a totally hip replacement, left knee replacement... it's a lot my dear but I know you can do it. You're young and stronger than I. One day I wish to visit Korea a pray to live there verses the United States. At least in Korea you don't have to worry about Guns being legal. Please take care of yourself and continue love you. ❤️❤️

Yes, food can become an emotional support especially when we are away from things that we are most familiar with. Dianna you are a beautiful blessed woman and your husband is an amazing man and more than love you but he’s ‘in love’ with you (there’s a difference u know). I’ve been with u guys for a long time and I do really love u all. As stated yes the language can be a major barrier so yes Amazon does sell the translation. (I’m away from my home family & all I am familiar with to) and know that learning another language can be challenging along with getting used to customs also is not easy. Diana was glowing in the states because she was in her mothers arms. But not to be mean I don’t see Diana extending her self to her Korean in-laws. She holds herself back also. I don’t think it’s because she not fluent. Maybe it’s because she wasn’t accepted in the beginning and it hard for her to get close to them.

Love has a way of crossing language barrier .She is so loveable.She doesn’t need to be fluent to be or feel love.Im sure she will improve with time.
Diana was glowing in the states because she was in her mothers arms. But not to be mean I don’t see Diana extending her self to her Korean in-laws. She holds herself back also. I don’t think it’s because she not fluent. Maybe it’s because she wasn’t accepted in the beginning and it hard for her to get close to them.
