Perhaps the key is in the name? A ‘utility’ vehicle like the Jimny might just get you out of a sticky situation, or simply just get you where you need to be. On the other hand a ‘luxury’ car might be pleasing to ride in, and all the gizmos fun to play with. But if it leaves you stuck in mud that joy might not last very long.
Hello frrom a proud owner from India . This car is the Swiss army knife of survival tools . It will never fail , would always work like a charm , would always put a smile on your face and would bring you out from any treacherous terrain where 99 of 100 offroaders would fail .
No material object can make you into a man. This is one of the oldest modern tropes used to sell products, and totems in the past. A good man simply is, prior to and regardless of what objects he chooses to use for whatever purpose he has.
No man can be a man without a tool. He would just be an animal. I've always liked Erich Kästners "Either you are human or principial". Even Richard Proenneke made tools to survive in the Alaskan wilderness. What I'm merely suggesting is that a car should be a tool for a man to protect and provide. And to give freedom to a free roaming soul
@@nickmogensen No, He has to be a Man first. Richard Proenneke was a Man who made a self actualizing decision, we remember him because of the life he chose to live, what he did and how he did it. The type of knife he used to carve a spoon is not the important thing. Tools are made by men, but a tool doesn't make you a man.
@@johnnyhall7065 Perhaps. The point i'm driving at is that the the truck is not a Totem. The man has values first, which informs his choice based on what he values and what his personality is. The totem cannot itself confer these things to an individual. An individual can discover some of these things via use of the object, but that comes after the choice and the object is more a conduit for something innate, or to develop it. The man makes the tool, but he is a man prior to it and in its absence.
The Hilux truly is a legend out here but therefore really not cheap to buy. They do have few faults though. They for example are a bit light at the back when empty and the two seater truck cab is really uncomfortable because the back of the cab leaves no recline adjustment for the seats. Also the newer ones went from a mechanical difflock to electronic as well as the 4x4 selector which ruined them. Old ones are best 2nd gen.

We all need a thoughtful walk like this....

Perhaps a good man chooses products differently to a bad man? The problem is, most modern vehicles have become less rugged and less adaptable.
