This was a video near and dear to my heart! Reminds me of my first true love! My 96 xp! I am super jealous of the pump extension. Never sell this ski. It will be so rare and worth a lot if you can keep it alive for Milo to ride when he is big enough. My fear is that jet skis will be the size of 20 foot boats and tip the scales at 3000 pounds by the time Milo is a teenager! He needs to know the truth! He needs to know the joy of riding a ski with the x4 bottom hull design! And better yet an x4 hull with the biggest motor available for that hull, the 787! Save this ski for him! It will be the most fun he can ever have in a world of gigantic whale sized fourstrokes!
A little cleaning made that thing look a lot better. Looks like the engine is a pretty tight fit to get in there. This video is a good example of why people think sea-doos are junk. To be fair, if proper upkeep was done and these problems were addressed one at a time, I wouldn't be that big of a deal.... I assume.
People dont know how to maintain them or dont care to take the time to maintain them. Which sucks...but that means i get to buy cheap trashed skis and restore them to their former glory like they deserve. th-cam.com/video/pinkoE3BiwE/w-d-xo.html
Trim issues stem from water getting into the unit because they uses metal hose clamps which destroys the vts boot. New vts boot kits come with plastic clamps. Or you can ditch the electric trim and install a manual hydraulic trim.
I have been using non mikuni kits for years.only had a handful come in with bad diaphragms.but easy to fix the biggest problem is guys not setting pop off pressure correctly cause the springs are slightly dif tensions.but I love the 95.5 xp up to the 99 spx great hull fun ski.and look up trim fix it kit for the trim if module are bad
My 96 Xp looks on with interest. Not needed any rebuilding so far.. knock on wood. Then again, I have only put 2-3 hours on it since I bought it a few weeks ago 🙂
Tracked down my old 96 XP in the same colors with a chance to buy it cheap. I haven’t seen the ski since 2006ish. Hope it’s in decent enough shape to be worth it. 👀
I hope the new starter wasn't aftermarket because it will fail after a year or two. It's always better to rebuild an OEM Denso starter with a 20 dollar rebuild kit. Also, an 8 tooth bendix is better than a 9 tooth if you can find one from a newer ski.
Everything you've done with XPS WHIT YOUR EYES CLOSED .... HOW MENY XP. S HAVE YOU LADS DUNE 🤣😎😎. ALL THROUGH YOUR CHANNEL alloth a walk in the park 👍👍👍👍👍👍💯🇺🇸🇨🇮🇺🇸🇨🇮🇺🇸🇨🇮🇺🇸🇨🇮♥️
I love my 95 xp800s. What you should do is look into getting a rossier pipe, aftermarket rev limiter like micro touch, impeller, and an R&D reduction nozzle.
I have a 550 and the sand got into the water ports, motor is seized and pull jugs and they are completely apart of the piston know, can not get un seized
Hey guys! Love the channel! I have a 1997 Sea Doo GSX 787 and I put new fuel lines on it. I made a mistake though and didn't take a picture of how the lines are run before I took it apart. I have it back together, but I have a feeling the lines are not hooked up correctly because it won't start. It turns over but won't run. I have looked online and can't find a good, clear diagram of the fuel line system. Do you happen to have something you could share that might help? I am so close to getting this thing running like a top if not for this brain fart.
Did u not align the engine with an alignment tool?? Looks like the pump was never removed...during engine removal/install. Youll want to use a proper alignment tool and align that engine, if its not aligned properly youre gonna have major issues!!
You did not check your Popoff pressure and you did not check your high and low speed setting / per the book to make sure nobody has been turning on them already
That’s a good rebuild man, I’m building up my wave raider 760s that I just bought for $300, the video is on my page if y’all want to give me some feedback on them!
@@ToddleyProductions thats not a rebuild tho...its just replacing flywheel and stator. Thats like saying replacing my starter is the same as a full rebuild...its not.
@@ToddleyProductions when someone says they rebuilt an engine its usually about rebuilding a crank and/or top end piston/cylinder job...not just replacing a dam stator and flywheel.. As many skis as i buy and restore and resell, if i ever told someone I rebuilt it but in truth I just replaced tbe flywheel and stator, that would be a huge lie and lawsuit waiting to happen. I mean come on..if someone sold youna ski and claimed it's been rebuilt but all they did was replace the stator, im sure youd be pissed off. Taking out an engine to replace the flywheel IS NOT a rebuild...end of story.
You did not just throw away an original oem white starter and install a cheap black Chinese starter did you??? Omg!! I will buy that white oem original starter from you!!
you havent truly lived until youve been in the ocean on a 90s seadoo.
All that hard work was 100% with it, another top video

I really like the idea of saving this ski for Milo! 👍 This xp800 is one of my favorites to ride for sure.
Agreed. Give it 10-15 years and this ski is going to be worth major league dollars.
You were missing that rubber piece on the end of your driveshaft where it goes into the jet pump.

Do you know of any good places to find a microtouch. Im having trouble.
@@MK-qv7bq ebay, or find someone on one of the Facebook groups for Seadoo 2 strokes.
Is Bob next ?
Erick I think you were the first man tonight 👌👌💯
Let's see you ride it eh :)
Where did you find the rubber piece for the vts?
Metal clamps are not good to use on the vts bellow. Grab you some plastic clamps :)
Use zip ties designed for electrical wires they are rounded a bit and hold good
Please build one with a 1200 triple
See ya💯💯👌♥️🇨🇮🇺🇸🇨🇮🇺🇸❤️
What happened to the BOB stand up
What is the part number for the mikuni carb kit

X4s are fun but all that maintenance for a Sea-Doo is a real drag sometimes :/
Why are seadoos so tempermental
Mikuni carburetors are the best don't ever replace one with a eBay carb or anything different if you find one rebuild it
