  • WORLD BACKUP DAY is here!
Never forget to backup! According to recent statistics: 113 phones are lost every minute, 29% of lost files are accidental, and 21% of people have never made a backup. The best way to protect and safeguard your data is to have a regular backup habit with the 3-2-1 backup strategy using a NAS.
    Back up mobile photos
Install the Qfile mobile app and enable the “Auto-upload” function. You can then upload and backup new photos/videos to your NAS as soon as they are taken, helping to save space on your mobile device.
    Back up Google Photos
Install the MARS (Multi-Application Recovery Service) utility on QNAP NAS, connect to your Google Photos account, and back up photos and videos from Google Photos to NAS.
QNAP NAS supports most mainstream cloud storage services. You can back up cloud data to NAS, or back up/sync NAS data to clouds for easier disaster recovery.
Use Snapshots to protect against ransomware
Backing up files to your NAS is essential, and it is even more essential to protect the NAS files itself with Snapshots. Snapshots are a powerful tool against ransomware, and they require less effort, space, and time than a full backup. With regularly taken Snapshots, you can restore NAS data and minimize downtime even if one day your files are encrypted by ransomware.
QuTScloud is a cloud-optimized version of the QNAP NAS operating system. Install QuTScloud on your preferred public clouds, start your cloud NAS, and benefit from flexible file management and collaboration that is unavailable from most cloud platforms. With QuTScloud you can immediately experience all the benefits of a QNAP NAS without any hardware requirements or complex maintenance of the cloud environment.
QuTScloud only takes a few clicks to install. Then all your cloud NAS services are accessible from around the world.
Expand your cloud storage as needed. You can choose either high-capacity hard drives or high-performance SSDs.
Your existing cloud-based data can be easily leveraged by the cloud NAS to create greater value.
Ease the efforts of multicloud management, and easily enjoy NAS services (including storage, backup, collaboration, and more).
You may be using one or more cloud storages to store your data. But with various management interfaces and basic features, it can be hard to effectively use cloud-based data. QuTScloud can greatly enhance your cloud data ecosystem. By mounting supported cloud storage with the QNAP HybridMount app in QuTScloud, you can manage cloud-based data with advanced functionality. You can even use QuTScloud apps to leverage your cloud-based data for increased productivity. Using HybridMount to mount cloud storages as QuTScloud data stores, delivers greater cost savings than directly setting up the space with the QuTScloud instance.
You can access QuTScloud via standard protocols (including CIFS/SMB, NFS, AFP, and iSCSI) and use the web-based File Station to manage, browse, and share files. In addition to setting authentication for individual or group user accounts, Windows AD and LDAP integration for directory management helps simplify user administration - especially for businesses with a large number of users.
IT staff can allocate QuTScloud storage space to workgroup users, allowing them to store, back up and share files as easily as using cloud drives. The myQNAPcloud Link service allows connecting to QuTScloud with a unique domain name, making it easy to access, manage, and share data without requiring static IP addresses.
With HybridMount, S3 and S3-compatible cloud object storage space can be mounted and centrally managed in QuTScloud. These cloud files can be accessed using File Station or the Qfile mobile app for efficient file sharing. Cloud storage connected by cloud storage gateways (HybridMount, VJBOD Cloud) can be accessed using SMB, FTP, AFP, NFS, WebDAV protocols to simplify using cloud data.

Hey guys. Just wondered if I could ask for a feature to be implemented I want to Rsync (using HBS 3) a specific folder to a remote QNAP, but I want to omit a specific child folder within the parent folder, kinda like how Google Drive use to work, when setting up the sync you could unselect child folders, but anything new created would be included. The parent folder contains stuff I want to make sure is backed up offsite, but the specific child folder only contains files that get uploaded to online platforms and can be replaced easily, I just don't want to backup say 2TB of data when a) it's not needed and b) it's taking up valuable space on the 2nd NAS. Now, I could set up multiple jobs for each child folder, but then I'd have to babysit it if new folders get created, and I'd rather not do that.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will feed it back to the developers.
