    Hey Tomley nice run dude the cars looking sweet! But the weather is absolutely hammering you/us,I'd put her away for better days. Thanks for that awsome! shoutout hugely appreciated mate erm I dont think i need to tell you what to do. I agree with you and (Driftomainics) get the front down with droop screws she'll fly!

      @TomleyRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No worries mate. I've watched a fair few of your videos.... I'm just shit at commenting as I have stuff on while working. You'd be surprised at how many people will want to know all the in and outs of setting them up :) Keep doing content mate...it's massively helpful. Droop screws were in, I think the main issue was the little hump in the road. I have a nice smooth area to use once the weather picks up! Hopefully by the summer we'll all have laid down some decent speed!

      @@TomleyRC I think alot wrench and watch at the same time, i know I do, it makes sense. I forget to comment aswell,while your reading this, "I finally concede to the quality of plastic" but these cars have a huge place now in my opinion. You'll smash that 100mph barrier, I'm listening to it back with headphones. Check your drive shaft and diff mesh. See if it's too tight, wierd whining noise coming through. Any way
      Thanks again and I'll keep it coming Tomley much appreciated.

      @@mehimrc1314 The Centre shaft suffers some vibration at high rpm's.... a bit like the rear shaft issue on the Infraction/Limitless. I stuck a new one in as I bent the first one slightly at the skate park... first run with the brushless I thought it was gonna shake itself to bits lol. You can hear it on Richies video as well. Diffs are all good, removed them and greased and set up before taking it out. Looking forward to cracking that 100 barrier!

    We often think by putting more expensive components in a stock RC it will automatically make it better or faster!? A huge amount of R&D goes into building these RC's and and often very good to begin with thats why it's hard to improve on a stock platform? 🤔

    The lowest recommended T or KV rating for this motor to handle 3S is 10.5T or 4500kv. In cold weather, most batteries discharge goes down very quickly, so get some batteries with higher C rating. Also, maybe get a Flysky Noble NB4 rx/tx. They are very good and a massive range.

    Two 2s 3200mah batteries=4s and a 26 tooth pinion coupled to the stock 60 tooth spure gear

    6:15 I was thinking it might be the cold, when I was in NJ my lipo run time on my RC's was literally halved in sub-zero temps. Did you do the droop screw mod to lower the front? That will help keep the nose down. 9:30 looked faster than earlier passes as well. Thanks for the shout out! I agree with your comments at the end and that's why I've not gone and put a TP motor in and a huge esc as I think with this car it responds very well to being kept light. I think with what your proposing it should go over 100, I am thinking that 0 deg temp didn't help today. Stay safe

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, coldest I’ve run at. The road I was going to use was sheet ice. So this was the next best thing. Going to wait until we are in double digits for temp and then run again. One of the last runs seemed quicker... but the GPS stayed on 66, maybe a glitch. Anyway, it’s good fun with these as more people can get involved because of the relatively low price compared to what the big boys are running! Easy to break 60-70mph on a budget. Droop screws were in, a arms level with the driveshafts and stiff springs on the back. Maybe a touch lower needed. Looking forward to what we can all achieve!

    Awesome video tho bummer weather was too cold to cooperate. To keep that rc stable,you should add/make a front splitter and possibly a rear diffuser being is already has a flat underbelly as that should definitely keep that thing stable at high speeds. If possible try to lower it and play with the spring rate and make them slightly stiffer as that should also help. Looking forward to seeing this thing go faster,lol

    Nice looking build mate, battery tray modification is the way to go 👌 but yeah you're right as you mentioned you really need to get you head around the electronics side of things before just making purchases. Otherwise it's the classic saying "all the gear no idea" 🤣 The best thing to do is study a channel that is mostly dedicated to wltoys speed run. Alot of general RC guys spread themselves thin trying to get their hands on everything. There is only so much one person can do in a day 😅 anyway looking forward to seeing your next upload with these and good luck on getting the 100

    I think that truggy wing will pay off in the end.
    I am wondering if that lift is being caused by the body shell, its fairly open at the front, perhaps enclosing the front of the shell in some, so your not trapping air under the body and causing lift ???

    I think the reason it wasn't going as fast in the first few runs is because the hobby wing ESCs usually need tuning with a progbox, since they usually only come standard running 70% power.

  • @RCModSquad
    @RCModSquad 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Except for the bump that was a pretty cool spot. I hate when the box fights back.
    I agree with you and not to be critical of people that do it but spending $100 on a car and $600 on a motor/ESC doesn’t feel like an accomplishment to me.
    I’m not sure what you have going on but that should have been much faster. I’m running a 2845 3930kv on 3s in my 144001 and get 60mph and I think there’s a bit more if I could find a place to run it.
    Anyway, thanks for the project update. 💯👍🏻👍🏻

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it was the temperature. I got 55mph on 2s with a lesser set up, but that was about 10 degrees (still cold)... but this run was 0... so the Lipos were probably struggling. I'll wait for it to warm up

  • @frasersteen
    @frasersteen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Put the hobbywing fusion in the 144001! It's geared pretty high so it might be ok on 3s......it's easy to take it out again too.
    Also one of the guys that managed to get his EMB-T to near 100mph ended up extending the nose on the body to prevent air getting under it and lifting up the nose.

    • @DimiS1978
      @DimiS1978 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The HW Fusion is for crawlers only. All torque, no speed.

    • @frasersteen
      @frasersteen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DimiS1978 That's why I'm curious how it does, Not saying its an ideal choice but it's quick and easy with a low power requirement to avoid any overheating that might happen with the expensive motor.
      There is a 3300kv variant, that in the Traxxas Summit for example.
      Technically, brushless motors are almost always most efficient at 80% of the rpm and 20% of the torque. Hobbywing might have done some magic to try and change that curve a bit but you can't avoid the inherent properties of a motor. High current might be an issue though.
