Thank you, it is very informative. Let's say I am doing 5 days a week 16 hours intermitted fasting and my insulin intake is 17 unit Lantus long-acting and how do you suggest i should reduce insulin level after many days of fasting and blood glucose goes down to 120 mornings and should i reduce my insulin to a certain level. If you make a video about it it would help a lot. Thank you, Iyi sanslar .
So I heard there are classes of meds....GLP-1, GLP-2, etc. What class are some the most used meds for type 2? Is there a list of meds with corresponding class? And what word do you use to distinguish between meds that improve absorption of blood sugar vs meds like reduce blood sugar by increasing insulin or otherwise forcing sugar to come down?
Will IF affect antidepressants like Bupropin and Fluoxetine? And is it better to choose the fasting days of the week to be consecutive (like Mon Tue Wed) or is it better to spread them out (like Sun Tue Thur)?
I've been doing i.f. before I knew it was a thing always had stomach problems but I noticed if I just eat lunch and Dinner and stick to water and coffee in between so like 14 hr fast few days a week it seem to almost eliminate the problems
Can you please share citations of these studies that show reduced insulin resistance of intermittent fasting for diabetics that is separate from simple caloric restriction and subsequent weight loss, as you seem to suggest? Preferably large sample human trials that are peer reviewed. Most such data that I search for seems inconclusive. Thank you.
Please look up paid real papers such NEJM and lancet etc. you’re not finding those papers on google because cost of real scientific journal subscription can exceed thousands of dollars. That’s what we do as doctors.

Hi Doctor, I wanted to ask you I am having my last meal at 5:30 in the evenings, I am constantly drinking water the whole time till night and the following day at 12pm I have my breakfast, which is quite light, such as boiled eggs and green tea. After that my next meal will be 5:30 again. Is this type of I fasting ok?
Good information! I am trying to get out of pre-diabetes. A registered dietician told me intermittent fasting wasn’t good because my liver would release more glucose if I wasn’t eating, and that I should do smaller meals and add small snacks to keep blood sugar more even through the day? So confusing...
SugarMD thanks, I appreciate the information. I’ll give intermittent fasting a try! Both of my parents were type 2 diabetics so I want to get a grip on this ASAP!
And at the same time, doctors in China told us: have your 3eals on time, otherwise you will increase the risk of type 2... I'm like: WTF, u doctors should really read more SCI

if we do fix 16 hrs of fasting everyday,7 days a week, along with Insulin say 11am - 6pm,(Humalog mix 25 insulin at 11am and 6pm reduced dose under supervision ) for a diabetic what will happen? is it dangerous?
You would need to eat plenty of calories during your feeding window which might be a problem for you since you didn't even achieve that before trying IF.
Hi thanks for the vids I started this type of fasting and I lost weight faster than that but what I don’t get is why my sugar is mostly at and all time high even if I only eat once a day that meal has no carbs only sweet potato and some meat protein
i started intermittent fasting and dropped about 25 pounds and my @ were great, A1c was 6.0 and now after fasting, my BS is nearly 200 due to my liver i guess. i dont want to take too much inuslin, if i eat, i tend to over eat, i do not want to gain all my weight back, should i exercise? should i eat protein or carbs or fats or some comno of all 3? excersize and eating doesnt seem to bring BS down, eating does not seem to either, fell like i am just going to keep execrcising and IF and let what happens happens, if my A!C is high due to my liver, screw it ( i take metformin 2x a day) EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED! thanks for listening
I have a question . They said sweet potatoes are good . But if I eat Sweet potatoes my sugar go up .like before i was 76 mg after to eat 1 Sweet potato it came 230mg why
It's basically just skipping breakfast... when you stop eating at 8 PM one day and start eating at 12 AM the other day, that's 16 hours. Plus you can have black coffee while fasting which suppresses appetite.
I started today stopped eating at 9pm on Wednesday to 6pm on Thursday the next day. I was sipping black coffee through out the time frame and realized that I don't feel hungry but I still break the fast by taking water with a little salt in it then ate meat and waited an hour and ate real meal by 7pm. I don't know if I'm doing the right think since its my first time trying IF. I'm struggling to know the right time to stick with.

You can take Metformin when you eat. When fasting you many not need that dose of Metformin.
Spreading is better
How can I fast as breastfeeding mom
I've been doing i.f. before I knew it was a thing always had stomach problems but I noticed if I just eat lunch and
Dinner and stick to water and coffee in between so like 14 hr fast few days a week it seem to almost eliminate the problems
That’s what we do as doctors.
can i escape the medication it takes in the morning and i take after a while

Hi Doctor, I wanted to ask you I am having my last meal at 5:30 in the evenings, I am constantly drinking water the whole time till night and the following day at 12pm I have my breakfast, which is quite light, such as boiled eggs and green tea. After that my next meal will be 5:30 again. Is this type of I fasting ok?
Yes that is perfectly ok. Longer the fast better of course
Will it increase risk for DKA ??
Good information! I am trying to get out of pre-diabetes. A registered dietician told me intermittent fasting wasn’t good because my liver would release more glucose if I wasn’t eating, and that I should do smaller meals and add small snacks to keep blood sugar more even through the day? So confusing...
That’s why they are dietitians and we are doctors. No offense to anyone but some dietitians go beyond their scope while giving advice to patients.
SugarMD thanks, I appreciate the information. I’ll give intermittent fasting a try! Both of my parents were type 2 diabetics so I want to get a grip on this ASAP!
sir does pancreatic beta cells regenerate in intermittent fasting ? i m talking those newly diagnosed diabetic patients?
And at the same time, doctors in China told us: have your 3eals on time, otherwise you will increase the risk of type 2... I'm like: WTF, u doctors should really read more SCI
Will it not cause any gastric problems??
No, it will help
Great

@@SugarMDs Thank I will.
if we do fix 16 hrs of fasting everyday,7 days a week, along with Insulin say 11am - 6pm,(Humalog mix 25 insulin at 11am and 6pm reduced dose under supervision ) for a diabetic what will happen? is it dangerous?
as long as your doctor knows what you are doing and you are monitoring carefully you should be ok
Do I have to be awake while I am fasting? Can I fast from 9pm to 1pm the next day?
Yes. It’s up to you. Use sleep to make it easier!

What if you’re underweight and don’t want to lose weight but still want to do this for health reasons??
If you are underweight that’s not for you
You would need to eat plenty of calories during your feeding window which might be a problem for you since you didn't even achieve that before trying IF.
Hi thanks for the vids I started this type of fasting and I lost weight faster than that but what I don’t get is why my sugar is mostly at and all time high even if I only eat once a day that meal has no carbs only sweet potato and some meat protein
Here is a video about sweet potato: th-cam.com/video/0DgpFqNvYDs/w-d-xo.html
Your sweet potato have a lot of carbs. You should look up your food groups
i started intermittent fasting and dropped about 25 pounds and my @ were great, A1c was 6.0 and now after fasting, my BS is nearly 200 due to my liver i guess. i dont want to take too much inuslin, if i eat, i tend to over eat, i do not want to gain all my weight back, should i exercise? should i eat protein or carbs or fats or some comno of all 3? excersize and eating doesnt seem to bring BS down, eating does not seem to either, fell like i am just going to keep execrcising and IF and let what happens happens, if my A!C is high due to my liver, screw it ( i take metformin 2x a day) EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED! thanks for listening
Go with low carb Mediterranean diet. We have a video about that. Please watch that.
@@SugarMDs thx
Will i not suffer from hypoglycemia if i do intermittent fasting? I am afraid
You have to consult with your doctor first
I have a question . They said sweet potatoes are good . But if I eat Sweet potatoes my sugar go up .like before i was 76 mg after to eat 1 Sweet potato it came 230mg why
Try parsnip.
I do not think I could fast for 16 hours
There are other ways of fasting, you can check this video: th-cam.com/video/vYEl1-qt3uQ/w-d-xo.html
Why do you have to take a cholesterol med with diabetes meds
Please refer to our previous videos
Can l take my medicine after breaking my fast
