I always died laughing, watching this moment.mean that The Apocalypse starts on the streets, but Vincent cares about his phone?!?are you serious, dude ;-) :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D
@Angelique Laforese He`s the Agent of Chaos and apocalypses are a common occurrence in the Compilation of FFVII and Final Fantasy in general for that matter.
Vincent's story was something that needed to be told, in Advent Children he admitted when Cloud asked if sins are ever forgiven that "I never tried". Creating a war with ties to his past pretty much forced Vincent to confront the demons he'd been keeping inside as those very demons were being brought to the surface. As for it being a shooter game, Vincent uses a gun, wouldn't make much sense for it to be a strictly melee game. Additionally, Vincent is a loner. Some argue about Cloud and co making a minimal appearance, but it's kinda a one way street with Vincent. Him joining the others to tackle a crisis is one thing, but in delving into hell he'd prefer to go solo, especially since he was having difficulty controlling Chaos. I think the game was solid, covered all the bases, and brought about a satisfactory resolution where Vincent won't be tied to the fate of a death bringer should the world end. Whether or not he's still immortal without the immortal essence of Chaos inside of him is up for debate.
chaos is the main reason of vincent's survival. Even after hojo's experiment on his body, giving him an almost indestructible body, vincent is still in dead like state. This is the reason why lucrecia infused him with chaos mako : to revive him
I think this game did a good job with Vincent. You see he is still fighting his demons, still grieving the loss of what could of been. I love how he mentioned in the game that he was willing to move on when he met Cloud and the others. They gave him a chance. I found that was a strong trait in Vincent.
Nothing to debate, I think. They made him a monster using him in their wicked Jenova plan. He blame himself because he loved the woman into the heart of that experiment and did nothing to stop her. Not his fault, actually. Even if he tried I really doubt he would be able to change something with his zero experience, power and knoledge. And this is not an alien story at all, but a story for us, looking for our better self. Too bad those games are so unpopular, movie was brilliant!
I slightly disagree with the whole shooting game part, i mean parasite eve especially the first game was basically a cinematic jrpg where Aya heavily relied on weapons until the whole parasite energy starts to kick in, considering it's also from square they could have maked something very similiar especially since only vincent is playable most of the time (excluding the cait sith section)
I just imagine Cloud hearing that the world's facing yet another crisis, and going "Fuck it. I'm so done with this shit. I can never catch a break. Vincent can be the main character this time." And then taking a nice relaxing vacation in costa del sol.
I thought this was made before crisis core though with crisis core in mind, maybe that's why , who knows , regardless it's a unfitting voice and I want to know what happens next
@Kale McKay All the DEEPGROUND members in The Game aside from Azul and Shelke had the same type of voice. Also, this was Genesis`s first appearance when all they knew about him was he was a morally ambiguous character who looks and sounds like Gackt with a single black wing on the opposite side to Sephiroth and has an ego."Crisis Core" filled in his backstory and personality later.
people always forget one major thing in ff7. Jenova is an alien. which means there is life outside of the world of ff7, it could be possible that Jenova has a race of "her" kind, or was on the run from something worse before hitting earth.
My mom used to watch me play this game and we both would make up funny things for him to say XD I miss her! She never played games but she'd love to watch me play. She was my gamer buddy! She liked Reeve the best while I simped after Vincent haha!
...I will never, ever understand why people hate this game so much. The game engine was solid. The story was good. What the hell, people? I swear you're just butthurt this wasn't your average RPG like FFVII was. Nothing wrong at all with a good rail shooter.
Completely agree.I loved this game. While the rail shooting aspect was a bit unexpected after an hour or two I got used to it and the rest of the game was great.I especially love the fact that they moved away from the classic FF7 Cloud-Sepiroth formula and introduced a new yet familiar aspect on the universe.
Oh really? Why? Ok, I'll give you a few reasons as a FFVII fan since I was 11 years old (28 now) They intended to solve some misteries from the original story here but they finally only changed the story, the characters! Why the hell the introduced in a commercial purpose Genesis..? A J-Pop/Rock japanese idol in my beloved FFVII game? Really? Oh yes please, why not? They already added more Turks on Before Crisis, changed the story in one of my favourites scenes on the Nibel Reactor adding the fucking Gackt on it! If the girls/boys wanted fanservice go ahead and see some Free! anime series, but please Square and people, stop messing with this game...
Andres Muñoz de Rivera Diaz ...So...You basically only dislike it because of one character being added to the mix of various others, who actually turned out to be a really well thought out and intricate character who I actually LOVED in Crisis Core...For a split second teaser scene at the very end, which was a BONUS ending, mind you. We got closure on a lot of things. We got closure on Sephiroth's genetic mother, Lucrecia, and we got closure on the Hojo thing. Vincent became a thoroughly fleshed out character, and we got a few good companion characters to compliment his development too. So...Tell me again why adding more characters is a BAD thing? I swear, you fanboys are the most impossible people to please.
Vincent Valentine: The actual Emo of Final Fantasy VII. It's all because of that personality swap in Kingdom Hearts that Cloud became known as an emo. And not a snarky jerkass.
Cloud is a spikey headed kiddo that has zacko sword and living legacies and good missions on his shoulders and he says let's mosey lol. In advemt children he is suppose be griefing for yung aerith
3yrs later Cloud was emo in Advent too and Square ran with it after that. Either personality doesn't bother me but I do prefer og FF7 Cloud. Vincent is a demon hybrid experiment, I don't blame him. Lightning is more the unnecessary edgelord of the franchise to me. Not my favorite character.
Favorite scene: where Vincent tries to talk Lucrecia out of it; and then she starts having premonitions of the future atrocities her 'son' will commit.
Seven years later, I'm back here to review Vincent through older eyes-- anxiously awaiting to see him in the remake. Mini spoiler below-- Though I'll admit, after they ruined Zack's new VA, I'm very nervous they will not bring Vincent's old VA back and use a new voice. I just hope to Gaia they at least put as much effort into his voice as they did Cloud's. Edit: After seeing Intergrade, the new VA for Zack seems to be getting it down actually. He did a pretty good job. He just needs a chance to work it out.
Hmm I didn't mind his voice its what i said first until I watched the ending 73737493938474727272 times haha... It's growing in me but yes I do agree I miss Zacks voice but the again everyone voice was changed makes sense I guess :)
Still think Vincent Valentine Has To be the most awesome character that have ever been Final Fantasy. Played this game alott, Wish he comes back as a main character again someday.
@@hiromamoru9144who the hell is zack?? Im 20 hours into the original final fantasy 7 and have not herd of any zack?? Unless he is a end game character??
+Jacob Sanchez The Compilation of FF7 released novellas for each of the characters that was translated online and can be viewed at thelifestream.net Tifa's novella covers the events directly following Meteor along with the construction of Edge. Initially, Cloud was running errands for 7th Heaven, getting supplies and whatnot. Then he started making deliveries on the side to earn some extra gil and that led up to him purchasing Fenrir and Tifa opening the Strife Delivery Service in the bar.
David Bond in gameplay you earn gil by killing monsters, but the novellas are like the movie and based on a sense of reality, where when you kill a monster they don't drop money they just die. Cloud was doing favors for Tifa by getting the supplies for 7th Heaven and it just so happen he'd run into folks who needed stuff delivered but the roads were unsafe due to monster activity, so Cloud got compensated for being the courier. It all worked out good for him, he gets to travel, he has his own hours, he has a home and family to come back to, and he's healthy and happy. I'm glad for him.
Serah Cos What? I don't think so. She's Sephiroth's mom. Before of all, she as an assistant to Dr. Grimoire Valentine, Vincent's father. Vincent loved her but she was with Hojo. She's immortal right?
+Slayerx49 its not hard to assume that considering they never clearly state how many years passed between the death of grimoire and when vincent came. For all we know lucy and grimy had a relationship before shit happened and she just abandoned the baby. Fast forward to the moment when vincent becomes a turk to body gaurd lucy and she realizes who he is thus wants to avoid all contact with him leading to the relationship with hojo. Vincent who doesnt have a clue whats going on confronts hojo only to get shot. Lucrecia feeling guilty for everything thats happened does the thing with chaos. I actually used to think this is what happened till i played the game again and realized how screwed up that seemed lel.
I loved this game. While the rail shooting aspect was a bit unexpected after an hour or two I got used to it and the rest of the game was great.I especially love the fact that they moved away from the classic FF7 Cloud-Sepiroth formula and introduced a new yet familiar aspect on the universe.
Just rewatched the whole thing - brings back wonderful memories of Vincent who remains as one of my most fav characters! Thank you so much for uploading this!
You know if you think about it, Hojo, Holander, and Genesis are the reasons to blame for everything bad that happens. And a little bit of shin-ra. Hojo and Holander fucked with shit, created a shitload of monsters, and Sephiroth. Than Genesis made Sephiroth go batshit insane by telling him the truth. Hojo made Shin-Ra hunt down and kill Zack cause of the experiments he did on Zack. Zack dies, Cloud gets all of Zacks everything. Sephiroth merged with Jenova and turns into an even more o.p. character than he already was. Than the embodiments in AC. Than Hojo made us hate him even more than we already did for what he does to Vincent. But you know how this all started? Genesis looking for Holander to stop the degradation and his abandonment of Shin-Ra. So really, this is all Genesis's fault. Fuck Loveless.
honestly lucretia's story is so stupid. she turns down vincent but has no problem dating the creepiest guy in game , hojo, and have a baby with him? fk man, vincent is my favorite character and I just hate to see him lose his girl like that..specially to a fking creeper
superdahoho So what? You just want Lucrecia to be with Vincent just to make him happy. You don't care about Lucrecia at all. Vincent can just find another lady who cares about him. If Lucrecia was horrible to Vincent, then why bother shipping Lucrecia with him? That makes no sense. Vincent should have chosen someone else.
Who she have baby with is her own bbusiness. But turning down the only man who tried to help her - now that's a thing thet stupid Vincent shouldn't forgive. She is responsible for his mutation, he was just a normal man, and now he is one of her victiims.
Lmao why is she so annoying...and what did Vincent see in her. Still is a mystery to me but I guess that's how love works. Poor Vincent. So far I've yet to see the Turks to br successful in love just as how they are successful at work.
I'm definitely glad you played through the mission inside Omega, because the music just made that whole section memorable and awesome. Honestly, years later I still remember that whole section while I completely forgot how the boss fight went >>
I am supposed to be studying and doing a documentary.... What do I really do? I spend 3 hours watching this wonderful piece of work and I regret nothing. Nothing at all. Don't care if I fail because this game holy shit oh yes it is amazing and it was SO under appreciated.
Take down a helicopter in cutscene: Vincent only shots cerberus... Take down a helicopter in actual game: shot cerberus 100 times, grab grenade, materia and an atomic bomb....
Although I didn't really care much for the gameplay in this game when I first played it years ago, I just remember that these cinematics were so mind blowingly awesome.
You do understand Sephiroth is the strongest entity in the 7 universe right? Man, it's like y'all don't listen to the creators when they confirm this and just go with your headcanons.
Brandy Chroninger Yeah, that's Genesis at the end there... Interestingly, this cutscene was made *before* Crisis Core, so they retroactively designed Genesis' character and such.
They designed Genesis based off the artist Gackt who made the theme for the game. If you've seen the music video for Redemption, there's were Genesis came from.
Optional Character in Final Fantasy VII. Gets his own game and even in the original FFVII had the third most plot important background story. (Cloud & Tifa being the first two of course. Although technically theirs was intertwined.) Because I think knowing the circumstances of Sephiroth's birth and having an even greater knowledge of the extent Hojo would go to in regards to human experimentation was a little more important to the main plot than some of the other character background stories. (Granted, my views on story importance are all opinion.)
itachi uchiha The only problem is when you do it through the night so when you look at the clock in the corner of your laptop and it is time to get up....yeah...not fun...I can only imagine the people who have to play it in order to find out what happens

Absolutely love this game I just find the story to be amazing and as usual Steven jay blum offers a stellar five star performance with his voice acting really capturing the dark foreboding character that is Vincent incredibly well yet at the same time being able to express his gentler more kind hearted side you can really hear the pain and hurt in Vincent's voice when he says lucrecia truly stellar voice acting and soundtrack too.
I swear this opening theme still sends chills down my spine. One of my all time favourite games. I remember crying so badly when Redemption began playing and 12 year old me believed that Vincent died... my my, good times
They should make a game/film about Vincent Valentine and Red XIII nearing the end of Red's life as Red's species have long life spans and Vincent is immortal, with Vincent having to gather allies to combat some terrible foe after decades of peace. Given Vincents obvious issues with talking to people and his ability to relate to people pretty much non-existent after possibly a century of being immortal and watching all of his friends except Red XIII die and Red having aged and blatantly being at the end of his life. Having to gather and train allies from people who have known nothing but peace so are probably going to be fairly unprepared, Red XIII passing away halfway through, have some throwbacks in conversations about legends and the events of previous games. Maybe the enemies could be of Jenova's species? I doubt she was the only one and they travel to different planets to drain them so they would eventually come back to Earth, right? So you could have some interesting recruitment and training mechanics, maybe forming some small groups of spare recruits to do auto-missions that pop up around the world randomly like monster infestations while your party of main characters and recruits if you choose them to fight with you. Makes sense that, given the struggle the Cetra had with Jenova alone and even parts of her are tough fights for the strongest group on Earth, an entire invasion force of them would require powerful characters like Vincent and Red to organize and train an underground resistance.
@@1Larxene1 This is just a hypothetical, though Vincent is canonically immortal due to Hojo's experiments. Red XIII is not immortal, however his species are incredibly long lived and have much longer lifespans than humans.
@@edalmirneto4246 Chaos wasn't what made him immortal, it was the experimentation by Hojo that brought him back to life and gave him a body that was capable of transforming which made him immortal.
Vincent needs a prequel. They should do a before Crisis Core game. He was there when they initiated the whole Jenova project and the birth of Sephiroth. I think it'd be a dope game or mini game to add onto the remake.
Kevin Young There is a prequel to Crisis Core. The Final Fantasy 7 series in chronological order (story-wise, *not* release dates): FF7- Before Crisis for mobile phones where you play as Turks before and during the Nibelheim incident, FF7 Crisis Core where you play as Zack, FF7 where you play mostly as Cloud, FF7- Advent Children the film set 2 years after events of original game, and finally Dirge of Cerberus where you play as Vincent.
Virgil Leonard I think what they are talking about is how Final Fantasy X got a brand new game in Final Fantasy X-2. And even worse, that piece of shit FF13 got FF13-2 and FF13: Lightning's Return. I would say their complaints are invalid up until the time of the FF13 sequels, mainly because the general consensus is that FF13 is absolutely *terrible*; a game that plays itself while you watch 16+ hours of cutscenes and the gameplay is so limiting in the way of player's choice or tactical thinking... Why should something that terrible get TWO full release sequels, where something like FF6 through FF9 get either very little or no attention from the developers? I think what most people mean about FF7 not getting it's own 'saga' is there was really no FF7-2 or FF7: Cloud's Return... Dirge of Cerberus felt like they made a game completely unrelated to FF7, couldn't think of a good story or characters for it, so they took the FF7 license and slapped together a weird, backwards story using FF7 characters and universe and shoveled it out to us. Now Crisis Core is the closest thing FF7 got to a true sequel (well, prequel) and Advent Children is just a movie. So I can definitely see where those people are coming from, especially considering much of the Final Fantasy fanbase has been *begging* for more FF7 titles for almost 20 damned years now. Conversely, I doubt there were many gamers (excluding the youngsters who don't appreciate or never even had a Playstation 1) were saying "Hey, FF13 was sooooo great, you should continue the story!" The FF13 sequels were a slap in the face for many of us fans- it was as if Square was saying "Yes, we *can* make an amazing new FF7 with the technology currently at hand, but we won't; here, have this sequel to a game that critics and fans mostly hated, FF13-2!" Does this clear it up a little for you? Sorry for long message, I'm just really passionate about this since I'm such a long-time fan and FF7 in particular holds a special place in my heart.
B DeWit Before crisis was a good idea in theory but the execution and concept, I felt were all wrong. Plus, it didn't get a full console release. Not even PSP. I almost don't count it as a game even though it was technically there. I would have preferred they completely take away DOC and Before Crisis. And had a done a Vincent story detailing the birth of Sephiroth. Then kicked into Crisis Core (unless they did a Sephiroth, Angeal, Genesis story, which would be awesome).
Kevin Young Oh yeah, that's an excellent idea that would sell a *ton* of games: A prequel starring Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis in the early days of SOLDIER, like 20-30 years before the events of Crisis Core. FF7's world is so rich and the possibilities are endless; imagine how different the world was before and during Shinra's rise to power! There was a time before Shinra owned the entire world, and they were merely an electric power company. A game that explores Shinra's transformation from a corporation into a world-dominating government with a full blown standing military and a special operations group like SOLDIER or the Turks would be fascinating, and fans would go nuts for it! They wouldn't even have to make Sephiroth playable; they could make the main character Angeal or Genesis during their early missions for SOLDIER as Shinra begins to take over the world and build their reactors everywhere. Imagine the possibilities, they're literally endless! It could end with Angeal being assigned a new recruit to train, a young boy by the name of Zack Fair...
If you have the original Advent Children it has all the cutscenes in a special feature or you can watch it on youtube somewhere. Crisis Core comes first, FFVII second, Advent Children third, and Dirge of Cerberus last.
+Danny Bloody he's not aging because of that sucking hojo's experiment, giving him an almost indestructible body, strong enough to be the vessel of chaos. But chaos is the main reason. Lucrecia infused him with the chaos mako to prevent him from degrading
Thank you so much! Most enjoyable! Just found this wonderful game at a thrift store. It was difficult, but I finally won. I wanted to see what I might have missed. Turns out I missed a great deal. FINAL FANTASY is in my blood. I hope they go back to these formulas for great stories!
This is an amazing game, the music, the action, the game controls, and the story were all the highlights of the game. I was so excited when it came out those years ago that i've played it every year as much as possible during that time. I hope I can play it again soon. RBG you did a great job putting this movie together.
Why did it take me so long to find this? I'm a die-hard Final Fantasy VII fan. The game means so much to me. I saw the other games being released and thought they were just spin offs and were never going to be as good as the original. I now regret that decision. I must play these other games. Thank you for breathing new life into something so close to my heart.
MY theory, since Vincent doesn't seem to be much of a close-combat fighter, it's for just that purpose, like the point on his shoes. They are secondary weapons. Vincent seems to be a crack-shot and SHOULDN'T need close-combat weapons, but they are there, just in case.
@@lujainalwaked6346 Well, Vincent is actually one of the most important character in FFVII series, but unfortunately he's underrated. The simple explaination is, Lucrecia was fell in love with Vincent here ( CMIIW ). One day, she done an experiment with Grimoire Valentine and failed. I think Grimoire was dead. And then we met Hojo, who's later shot Vincent and force Lucrecia to his crazy experiment in order to saves Vincent's live. She done it, Hojo impregnate her and Sephiroth was born. When he was born, Lucrecia was not allowed to hold him and Hojo took him away for an experiment with Jenova cell. Later on, Lucrecia asked Vincent about Sephiroth and he said that Sephiroth's already dead, because he didn't to make Lucrecia has a fear on his son. Im fact, Sephiroth is still alive with Zack and Cloud after that. Vincent knows everything, he is ±60 YO, he look young since he was injected with Chaos ( or Jenova cell )
Anyone else think Vincent was very attractive as a Turk? Just thinking of having Reno partnering with him (I know it makes no sense chronologically, but indulge me) would've been hilarious!
I actually think Turk Vincent looks adorable... not attractive adorable, but adorable. I remember the first time I saw a video of him as a Turk, I'm pretty sure my first words were "KIDDIE VINCENT!"
I literally said the same thing in my most recent comment. He looks damn good. As a kid the Turks were always kind of annoying but as an adult I find there presence in the game very... engaging. Like their professionalism, work ethics, style, all that stuff is a pretty fricking cool job now.
I love how the video game industry when it finally made it big time, the producers and big studios can keep cranking out sequels, prequels, spin-offs, and all that related mess for just one universe, one selection in a whole series. WHY CANT THEY DO IT PROPERLY WITH CHRONOTRIGGER :(((
I have never seen ANY Fianl Fatasy videos and bout one by mistake and when it came in yesterday I thought I'd check out what it's all about and I love it. I want to "thank you" for going through all the trouble of making this video for us. The picture is so clear and the way they made the characters look so real, I just love it all. I actually have a big box full of videos that a relative left in my closet two years ago and most of them are Final Fantasy and others on that same idea but they didn't look interesting to me but now I'll fish them out and play them. Some of them were bought from Japan because they hadn't come out here yet. Again, "thanks"
One of my favorite Final Fantasy games, Vincent Valentine is my favorite character from the series and when he got his own game I was ecstatic, although the reviews for this game didn't do this sequel justice its still one of my favorites to be honest i can't wait for the Final Fantasy VI remake so i can play as Vincent Valentine once more i really hope Steve Blum does the voice of Vincent Valentine. Really would love if i could play this game on PS4 or just to have a physical copy would be great.
James McLaughlin I feel they are about as equal in the harem department when it comes to the fanbase harem lmao cloud I loved first back in the day but I always was super curious about vincent and could never unlock him and ended up loving him more when I finally did. Lol and don’t get me started about him in the movie. Vincent needs his own movie. That actually sheds better light and more in depth story without WRO and Deepground. Like at least a new game where you can play as Turk vincent the entire game up until he is murdered by hojo. It’d be super fun playing an actual shooter about Turk vincent and doing all the little Bloddy gruesome Turk missions. Omgg Like the last mission could be when he wakes up and locks himself away in the shinra manor basement. Idk I have way too much time on my hands and write all kinds of stories and plots for new games hahha
He’s got the gun, the boots, the grim tone, the personality, and the lone wolf attitude that makes me think Vincent would make a cool western protagonist Or at least fit in to an old western setting
I asked my friend how you could tell Lucrecia was actually Sephiroth's actual mother and if there were any similarities. All she told me was 'Their bangs.' So when I see this now... I can't unhear what she said XD
@@samiraradmila4094 I know. It's was just hard to pinpoint any similarities to her. We... Definitely didn't see it in the father. And we all know who that is... *Shudders*
In the Crisis Core Complete Guide it is explained that Genesis has reappeared to protect the planet, and his final lines in Final Fantasy Crisis Core explain his return, but in more of a riddle. "Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return To become the dew that quenches the land To spare the sands, the seas, the skies I offer thee this silent sacrifice"
Clymaxx Well, he *is* responsible for nearly all the bad shit that happens in all of the FF7 series; the father of Sephiroth and the scientist behind much of the Jenova project, without him or Hollander, there never would have been a SOLDIER program. That'd mean an entirely different world, really... so yes, he's evil as sin.
B DeWit A lot of people think Jenova is the major villain in this game. I beg to differ. Jenova would have stayed in her grave and probably been simply studied if not for Hojo. All of the evil stems from his twisted ambitions.
Clymaxx In Dirge of Cerberus, Jenova plays ZERO role. Was she even mentioned in this game? Canonically, she's been totally dead and removed from the Lifestream in the events of Advent Children, which takes place a year or so before DoC (right? I know DoC is the last game chronologically, AC is 2 years after FF7, idr exactly how much time has passed till DoC starts)... oh wait, she is mentioned a few times, but her absence is referred to. So yeah, she's gone. In FF7, however, I think she *was* the major villain, more than Sephiroth. After all, each time Sephiroth is seen in FF7, it's not actually him, it's an 'astral projection' onto a piece of Jenova. The only times it's really Sephiroth is when Cloud hands over the Black Materia and when you have the final battles with him in the Crater. Jenova was the one pulling all the strings, since the Nibelheim incident. Her ability to not become dormant in the Lifestream after going in with Sephiroth is what helped her to start the first and second Reunions; she probably 'told' Sephiroth this somehow, which explains why he cut her head off and tried to take it with him. She could simply regrow a new body due to her alien properties, and other parts of her could grow into the various boss battles in FF7 (like the one after Aeris is killed). All of that really makes me question if Sephiroth was truly in control at any time during FF7, since Jenova is a 'puppet master' to any humans who bear her cells. Hell, she may have "persuaded" the scientists that dug her up to fool around with her cells, thus creating Sephiroth, Angeal, Genesis, and by extension, the entire SOLDIER program.
B DeWit Right, you'd think Jenova would still be relevant by DoC standards, considering Deepground was a SOLDIER offshoot. I think the interesting thing about Jenova is that she wasn't a conniving villain. She wasn't even human. She is likely just a celestial being from outer space, doing what she does naturally as an organism, motivated merely by survival, not unlike Lavos in Chrono Trigger. I think it was Sephiroth's malice towards the history of the human race that turned her powers against us all. It was never really clear is she was technically alive or not, perhaps not fully revived until the end of the game. But I like all the biological influences she has. Other than that, I think the main cause of the plot of FFVII was Hojo's dumb calamities. I'm not sure you can actually classify Jenova as intentionally evil.
You have to take into account that for a good portion of the original game everyone was chasing and facing off against Jenova, not Sephiroth as he was still in the Northern Crater. It's unclear whether or not it was Sephiroth's will that was controlling Jenova's body (in the scenes where the Shinra president dies her body is missing) or if it's her who is in control. I know you might know all this already but I wanted to explain anyway just in case. Personally I'm more inclined to believe the latter, mainly due to how she'd come across, but all we can really do is speculate. However if she was the one in control then she does clearly share Sephiroth's goals. I'm also reminded of when Sephiroth described his plans at the end of Advent Children, saying that it was what his mother did long ago. If he's right about that then I would think the odds of her not acting purely on survival are much less. Sephiroth also seemed to want to save the planet, at least that's how I always thought he made it sound across the games. That the planet was too far gone and needed to start over, free of humans. So if Jenova follows that mindset then odds are neither see themselves as villains, but of course they are to humanity. So there's clearly many reasons as to why Jenova being evil and/or still sentient is debatable. It's fun to contemplate and I hope they give more insight into this in future games.
Welcome back Weiss!
And the plot point still unresolved in 2021.

Not really, his story is so superficial/bland and it's one of the reasons the game was so poorly received.
I bet the whole time Vincent is doing all of this Cloud was saying "I can do that, but I don't wanna..."
"I fought Sephiroth by myself last year. I had no help. He can handle this." Lol
"Stupid optional character, with your codes and your coffin and your mini-boss. Why can't I get a mini-boss?" Cloud Strife - 0009
Cloud: "Not interested..."
+spade749 I laughed while reading the comments to this xDD You got some humor, people xDD
I just imagine Cloud hearing that the world's facing yet another crisis, and going "Fuck it. I'm so done with this shit. I can never catch a break. Vincent can be the main character this time." And then taking a nice relaxing vacation in costa del sol.
I wish Genesis had said "Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return." Instead of giving him a vampire voice.
Riiiighhhhhttttt 😂😂😂
Isaac Cook his loveless bullshit is annoying af
it's always confused me. I played this game before crisis core so I always assumed that the dude (gackt) at the end was nero.
I read she was an criminal on the run. Don't know if that's true.
Of course there is life outside earth in ff7 they came from a planet called Spera
I’m working on a spin-off story to submit to squeenix ☺️
Dude I’m pretty sure *it* is just a parasite in a cetra woman’s body
i thought jenova is an ancient that shinra used her cell to make "monsters" like sephiroth
My favorite thing about Vincent is imagining his inner monologue. Since he hardly talks you can be creative.
He is slowly going insane
I think it's mostly "i'm not getting paid enough for this" "fuck that" and "why am I still here"
My mom used to watch me play this game and we both would make up funny things for him to say XD I miss her!

Because everyone exept us two hates straight-foward stories...
The only thing I hated about this game is : It was unforgivable for the first half of the game. And the rest was easy...
Andres Muñoz de Rivera Diaz
...So...You basically only dislike it because of one character being added to the mix of various others, who actually turned out to be a really well thought out and intricate character who I actually LOVED in Crisis Core...For a split second teaser scene at the very end, which was a BONUS ending, mind you.

Seven years later, I'm back here to review Vincent through older eyes-- anxiously awaiting to see him in the remake.
Mini spoiler below--
Though I'll admit, after they ruined Zack's new VA, I'm very nervous they will not bring Vincent's old VA back and use a new voice. I just hope to Gaia they at least put as much effort into his voice as they did Cloud's.
Edit: After seeing Intergrade, the new VA for Zack seems to be getting it down actually. He did a pretty good job. He just needs a chance to work it out.

What I really want to know, is when during all this did Cloud decide to become a delivery boy.
+Jacob Sanchez Probably in the middle of the original FFVII and Advent Children
+Jacob Sanchez GO TO "ONE THE WAY TO SMILE. PAG.69. TIFA CHAPTER"
After ff7 cloud becomes distant but always willing to help his peers...he feels he is responsible for areis death I believe
David Bond
in gameplay you earn gil by killing monsters, but the novellas are like the movie and based on a sense of reality, where when you kill a monster they don't drop money they just die.
Vincent had a lot of motivation for a guy who was friendzoned by Lucrecia...
Slayerx49 Wasn't she his mom?

What? I don't think so.
She's Sephiroth's mom.

Don't worry! FF7 story can be so confusing sometimes! They should open some graduation about it! XD

Yes I know, that wasn't really in order but you get my point.

Optional Character in Final Fantasy VII. Gets his own game and even in the original FFVII had the third most plot important background story. (Cloud & Tifa being the first two of course.
Why is Vincent so God tier, yet so obscure again?
Vincent is immoral? Red is immoral? Everyone dies?? Is this true..?
@@1Larxene1 This is just a hypothetical, though Vincent is canonically immortal due to Hojo's experiments.
Red XIII is not immortal, however his species are incredibly long lived and have much longer lifespans than humans.
@@CraigMetalHead at end of Dirge Vincent as no more immortal. He lost the Chaos Weapon Power
Virgil Leonard
I think what they are talking about is how Final Fantasy X got a brand new game in Final Fantasy X-2.

Oh yeah, that's an excellent idea that would sell a *ton* of games: A prequel starring Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis in the early days of SOLDIER, like 20-30 years before the events of Crisis Core.
Yes and make it an espionage! 😍😍
If you have the original Advent Children it has all the cutscenes in a special feature or you can watch it on youtube somewhere. Crisis Core comes first, FFVII second, Advent Children third, and Dirge of Cerberus last.

Just found this wonderful game at a thrift store. It was difficult, but I finally won. I wanted to see what I might have missed.
Turns out I missed a great deal.
FINAL FANTASY is in my blood. I hope they go back to these formulas for great stories!
No problem, glad you enjoyed it ^_^
Cloud and Squall: we are the darkest coolest ff characters
Vincent: Hold my beer
This is an amazing game, the music, the action, the game controls, and the story were all the highlights of the game.
I was so excited when it came out those years ago that i've played it every year as much as possible during that time. I hope I can play it again soon. RBG you did a great job putting this movie together.
Having the voice actors for both katara and Amon voice Yuffie and Vincent is so jarring but cool

It didn't solve the mystery of Vincent's claw ._.
MY theory, since Vincent doesn't seem to be much of a close-combat fighter, it's for just that purpose, like the point on his shoes. They are secondary weapons. Vincent seems to be a crack-shot and SHOULDN'T need close-combat weapons, but they are there, just in case.
Meele attack it seems
Can i ask something? Who's vincent valentine now ? I mean there's no vincents after this ?

Vincent is allways attractive
WHY CANT THEY DO IT PROPERLY WITH CHRONOTRIGGER :(((
FFVII is their pride and joy. Their favorite child. Loll
No problem, I love promoting good games especially Final Fantasy VII based stories in good quality ^_^
Honestly, one of my favorite games. I wish it were much longer!
I wish that they make a remaster of this game on PS4 😭😭💔
I don't know what you're all talking about. I love the 'dubbed' version as much as if I were watching the subbed version. PS. Reeve is a sexy beast.

To be fair, it's not like he had a harem throwing themselves at him...*glares at cloud*
James McLaughlin sorry I talk too much lmao
Right now, we're in 2020 and I'm still watching this!

1:50 Vincent's War Face

Vincent is one of my favorite heroes, even still.
In the Crisis Core Complete Guide it is explained that Genesis has reappeared to protect the planet, and his final lines in Final Fantasy Crisis Core explain his return, but in more of a riddle.
"Even if the morrow is barren of promises
Nothing shall forestall my return
To become the dew that quenches the land
To spare the sands, the seas, the skies
I offer thee this silent sacrifice"
2:11:06
that pain from seeing her go was unreal phenomenal voice acting
Rewatching the events of this game just made me remember that Hojo is the most evil motherfucker in the entire series.
Clymaxx
In Dirge of Cerberus, Jenova plays ZERO role.
2:07:30 "No one will ever stand above me"
Proceeds to cut out a block of concrete, falls and literally makes it so that Vincent stands above her.
