Hello Rahel, it's me again. I have been watching your videos. This is one of my favorite ones. You are absolutely right:, "My happy place is not a place. It is a feeling." and all the things you say about feelings. This is so incredibly important. I applaud you for finding this now, at your young age, for accepting and for validating yourself. Rahel, you are living, thinking and feeling the way we were meant to live. What a breath of fresh air you are. Thank you for this video. Have a wonderful Sunday Eve (aka Malgozata)
Hello Eve. I feel so blessed that you have found my videos and that you take the time to watch them and really listen to the thoughts I share. It truly means the world to me. I'm very much looking forward to any future message from you and I'm curious to know what you think of my other videos. I wish you the best rest of your weekend and the most wonderful start to your week. Sending you a big hug. Rahel
Hello Rahel, i am very happy to have found your channel too. I will watch all of your videos and will comment when i have something to say. I did watch your most recent video, saw your cat (similar to mine) and your morning routine. Thank you. I am curious. I always love to see people's homes, their inner rooms, so to speak. But you are right, your home includes the world beyond volcanic brick walls. I am also curious. You have not made that many videos. What do you do for money when not making videos. How do you live? More comments later. Ha, ha. Eve
@malgozata1875 I feel similar, I also am very curious and love to see other people's homes and how they live their everyday. I am a very private person though, so I rarely invite people into my home in real life and I haven't felt comfortable to invite my online community into my home. Not yet, that might change one day eventually. It is interesting that you perceive 50 videos as not a lot. Understandably if I look at how much other creatives create. For me personally 50 videos in 4years is A LOT. It takes me in average two weeks to create one video: the research for the right music, finding a day which has the right colors and light conditions which I have envisioned for my filming, the filming itself, the thought process about the "theme of the video" and all the inner work which comes with it, the editing, writing the text, narrating, changing my mind, editing again. It is a lot of work and usually I can't create back to back. After uploading I need to step away from any creative work for a week to reset. Sometimes also life gets in the way or I experience creative ruts and most importantly I'm not choosing a different type of work to hustle the same way like I would in a traditional job. I currently make my living by creating these videos. I have a tiny community over on the platform Patreon where very sweet human beings choose to support my work financially either monthly or just once. It is a very unstable way of making a living because it clearly fluctuates a lot and I really don't have much money, there are definitely months where I really struggle but like that I'm completely independent of algorithms and numbers and I can create how it feels right for me and not loose this immense joy I feel when creating videos out of my heart.
@@RahelStadler Hello Rahel, thank you for explaining. I appreciate it. I don't realize how much work goes into making videos because I have never done that. It takes a lot out of you and it is hustle and bustle. I said that 50 videos were "few" because I did not know how you could support yourself with such a number. What I hear of youtube, they pay very little for the videos and that's why volume is needed. Also, to get patreon support you need to be seen, so once again the volume of videos helps. I did not mean it as a put down, but more as a concern. Sorry, if it came across this way. And, I understand about your home. I myself only show specific walls to the world, not the entire house. Ha, ha. I was wondering, is it ok to email you? Please be honest with yourself and with me. If you don't feel comfortable right now or ever, I completely understand. I just asked because we seem to have a lot to say and it will easier. I will still leave comments on your videos and welcome your replies, especially since it helps your channel. think about it and when you are ready, let me know. Eve
@malgozata1875 don't worry I didn't take it as a put down. You are right youtube doesn't pay much unless the numbers are high, that's why a lot of TH-camrs do brand deals and or burn out . It's true I also need a certain exposure to get Patreon support and I still believe that I will get a bit more support with time. Of course you can send me an email. It would be a pleasure to exchange in a different way. Feel free to write me anytime: rahel-stadler@outlook.com
Hi Rahel - sorry about the late comment (I have been trying to balance the amount of time spent watching youtube videos as I found I was spending increasingly more time watching different postings...). This video, like all of your videos - is like a work of Art: the attention to detail - like the lava pebbles rattling on the beach, your words, etc. All Beautiful. (We heard those shearwater noises for the first time on Flores and thought terrible things were happening outside, you can imagine our relief to be told the next morning that the noise was made by those birds...). I originally had thought that was the bird on the Azores flag but no - it is the golden goshawk... learn something new every day. Take care. Charles
Hello Charles. It's all good. I did notice that you haven't commented but i was sure that you had your reasons and didn't take it personally. And trying to decrease your time spent watching TH-cam Videos is definitely laudable and i totally agree that it's a healthy approach. I'm happy you noticed and point out the lava pebbles rattling on the beach and thanks for making me laugh "thought terrible things were happening outside"- yes, totally! If these sounds catch you off-guard for the first time, the assumptions are limitless. Thank you for words. Wishing you all the best!
Thank you for sharing this with me, being at a place of wonder..:-) It makes me question, whether it is possible as you've said here, by a certain place to make me 'free'..? The feelings as usual do come together with my thoughts, thoughts which are the outcome of accumulated knowledge, experienced learned and studied for. It might be good knowledge, or bad knowledge. But..should I 'follow' knowledge ( or the outcome as feelings from them) to become 'happy'? Does this "following" ( whatever it is I have chosen..) make me Free, Joyful and Complete? Thanks again for the post, and moment..:-)
Thank you, Thomas for sharing your thought process in such detail. I appreciate it. When I'm talking about a certain place i do not necessarily mean a physical place, more so an internal place. And yes i do believe that it is possible to have a place internally where you can feel free. I believe there are two different types of feelings. There are feelings which are directly influenced by our thoughts and by our external influences and knowledge. But then there are feelings which are usually deeply buried and often not easily accessible because the other feelings and thoughts are usually louder. These feelings is our intuition, our instincts our inner voice...however you wanna name it. Our intuition is always there but often we get very disconnected from ourselves and we often distrust ourselves because we loose the skill of understanding the language of our inner voice. To relearn it and to trust in it, is hard work and takes dedication and time, but it's worth it. Trusting yourself and your intuition and being able to provide yourself with answers without needing to think about it holds a lot of peace. So i definitely believe that following your inner voice is the key to feel free, joyful and complete.
@@RahelStadler , thanks for your quick response, and open thoughts! I understand the description of two different kinds of feeling, and I experienced them very well. ( but it bothers me, not being only one!) You see.., my thoughts and thinking makes a separation obvious, while in discovery, deeply, there is only one.. Not being Shure now, I would say: the feelings themselves are the same (from me, without name). The difference is to find in the reason or cause.. Which means without this reason or cause ( from me, with a name) the feeling stands free, unconditioned, which is then the feeling of beauty and grace. One day I have heard someone say: that which does not have a cause, is what we all are longing for.. I might have to loose some more programming, before I 'see' this in myself :-) , but I have the advantage over the society, I am Life it self. :-) Thanks again for the moment! Till next post?
@@ThomiX0.0 you are very welcome. Thank you for the exchange of thoughts. I believe that the fact that it bothers you is a good thing, that means that you know which direction you want to head at. And not everybody knows that to begin with. I believe acceptance and patience is a big part of this process. Learning how to connect to ourselves is a long process, it can not be another mission we want to 'achieve', tick of our list and become successful in. It is very likely that connecting with ourselves is a life long journey. So we better enjoy the process and embrace also being disconnected at times. Sometimes we might be better in listening to ourselves and then there might be phases where we seem to be more far away from ourselves. And that's ok. It's not about becoming perfect in anything. It's about becoming more aware and accepting the imperfections as part of the whole.
@@RahelStadler ,sharp but forgiving :-) Perfection is seen trough the trains side-window, interesting..but never the goal. I passed it a hundred times.. but still want to sit upfront..:) (..so much for a quiet island..)

ETA August or September. I am looking for a safe place to disconnect from technology, to recharge and remember myself---that girl that loves camping, spider hunting, microscopes, tide pool study, learning and teaching others.🏞💞 much love from Texas
Hey. So good to hear from you again. I enjoy very much to follow your journey and I'm so happy for you that things are coming together and excited that you are going to do what feels good to you. Thank you for sharing please keep on doing so. About the weather. It is so unpredictable. As you can see in the video, one day I'm in a Tshirt one day later with a jacket and a hat. When the sun is out it's really warm but as soon as it's cloudy or/and a lot of wind and humidity i can feel significantly colder. And that can change several times a day. But this is normal here, all year around weather can change very quickly. Much love back to Texas🤍
We all have a happy place. It is a place where we can be ourselves without being judged. I like to walk Helga. She is a big dog. For some reason she always gets most of my caciola sandwich! A happy place is anyplace you feel comfortable.
That's so adorable! I love that you have such a close relationship with Helga and that you share your sandwich with her, melts my heart! I agree, a happy place is oftentimes a safe space where we can fully be ourselves.
Haha, yes i can totally relate to your impression that these birds sound quite outlandish. Especially if you hear them for the first time. When i first heard that sound i didn't even know that i was birds and it took me quite some time to figure it out. You can try it with your friends and family, play the sounds for them and let them guess what it is without telling them, that it's birds. The suggestions are usually hilarious 😉
Hi Rahel. Are you doing ok ? I' made it to Faial,. And monday i'll be at you're happy place.. Yes .Pico.. After 20 years i finally be back .. So emotional moment.... Greetings. Jorge..
your voice is like meryl streep's voice in '' out of africa" . you'd like that movie.. also ''west with the night'' by beryl markham... there is peace in those books.
your videos get to the basic truths about existence and life, so there are no lies and no errors of fact. this is very unusual on youtube. You understand why i say that.. and i think this video in particular discusses and shows that essential truth more than your previous ones, its just that your previous ones were about some additional things about the island and your activities. but one has be to able to sit and be and find peace in that, otherwise are we really ever at peace ? you talk a lot about your lack of success with the system in Germany. and you have had an amazing period in your life since you first left Germany. Im 64 and had a lot of success in the american typical life , the opposite of you, and now the successes have imprisoned my freedom to some extent. what i want to live is what you have achieved after only 31 years. Its ironic, lack of success can lead to personal fulfilment , success leads to other peoples fulfillment. i hope you realize the specialness of your path so far. i wish you the very best and hope to see you on Pico one day.
Brian, thank you so much for this beautiful message, it truly means a lot to me. Thank you for your appreciation and sharing your point of view. And how interesting that you bring up the word success. I have been thinking about that word and it's meaning quite a lot lately and reading your words really inspires me to dig deeper and who knows maybe i might talk about it in another video, so thank you for bringing it up. I'm sorry to hear that you feel like your success stole your freedom. But it's never to late to get it back. If you feel the need to free yourself go on that journey. And i hope you don't regret any decision that you have made in your past, im convinced that you had to go that way to end up with the awareness you have now. And it's very precious that you know now what you want and how you wanna live. Don't underestimate that. Everything happens for a reason. Wishing you all the best!

I was really happy to catch a view of Santo Amaro in your video. Thats my happy place :)
Hey Brian. Oh yes it's true, i totally forgot about your place in Santo Amaro. I'm glad that i unintentionally captured your happy place! Sending you best wishes.
incredible, every moment of it.
That's so sweet of you! I'm glad you enjoyed.
Soothing images and sounds. The Sea is my happy place.Thank you Rahel.
Thank you, Jorge. And thank you for sharing your happy place!
Have a wonderful Sunday
Eve (aka Malgozata)
Feel free to write me anytime: rahel-stadler@outlook.com
being not unhappy is easy... always being happy is impossible...we have a homeostasis, emotionally
thank you for such a beautiful video...warm hugs from India 🥰🙏
You are most welcome. It makes me so happy that you liked this one. Sending my warmest wishes from the Azores to India 💛🙏
Such a unique funny sound :) thank you for sharing
It is indeed a very unique and funny sound, im happy you enjoyed listening to them.
Thank you for sharing this with me, being at a place of wonder..:-)
It makes me question, whether it is possible as you've said here, by a certain place to make me 'free'..?
( but it bothers me, not being only one!)
You see.., my thoughts and thinking makes a separation obvious, while in discovery, deeply, there is only one..
Thanks again for the moment!
@@RahelStadler ,sharp but forgiving :-)
Perfection is seen trough the trains side-window, interesting..but never the goal.
I passed it a hundred times.. but still want to sit upfront..:)
(..so much for a quiet island..)
Was waiting for it :)
That's so nice to hear🙂
Another lovely video Rahel---thank you. It looks cold there now...or is it the wind?
My Portuguese bank account was just approved last Friday 🤯🤩...now just the packing...it's coming together.
@@RahelStadler thanks for the weather details!
Stay comfortable!
Ellen
@@egrace3738 always a pleasure talking to you, Ellen!
Pico is awesome! Nice video!
The first sandy beach you show is Prainha?
Thank you, Paulo! Yes the beach is in Prainha.
Wow those birds sound like evil leprechauns planning their attack! 😜
Greetings. Jorge..
Hey Jorge. How wonderful! I'm very happy for you. Enjoy!
your voice is like meryl streep's voice in '' out of africa" . you'd like that movie.. also ''west with the night'' by beryl markham... there is peace in those books.
Hello Brian. Unfortunately i don't know neither 'out of africa' nor 'west with the night' but i will look into it. Thank you for sharing!
Nice video
Thank you!
Like - "I am my happy place."
Thank you, Arnold. Im glad this sentence resonates with you.
your videos get to the basic truths about existence and life, so there are no lies and no errors of fact. this is very unusual on youtube.
Hey , how can I contact you?
Hey. You can contact me on my official Facebook page or on Instagram.
What are the locals like? I imagine they are very friendly.
Yes they are very friendly and they definitely have their own culture since they are living so remotely on small islands.
@@RahelStadler If the Harpazo doesn't happen soon, I'd like to visit a few of the islands. They remind me of Hawai'i in the 70's.
@@sporqfoon5989 I have heard that the Azores are similar to Hawaii a few times now, they call it the Hawaii of Europe.
