Great video guys! And I couldn't agree more with what you said! I use mine over here in Australia and it sure does chomp through our hard woods just fine I've ran mine with the 32" bar in some hard wood and it handled it like a champ . And I see it using more fuel no issue it could be better actually might help it to stay cool and last longer. I find it nicer the Husqvarna auto tune. That Auto tune runs way too lean!
They seem like a good saw. Only things I’ve heard from my logging buddy’s that runs them is their hard on fuel and in hot weather seem to get hot. So overall I’m hearing good things about them!!
What brand of oil you using to mix in this saw? I’ve been running Motul 800 in my 066 and I like it,also bought a bottle of BelRay H1R but haven’t tried it yet,used to run it in my YZ 250 back in the day,it was sure cheaper for a litre back then though compared to now 😎
Just bought a 461 because they stopped making them was wondering if you would suggest any upgrades I want here to last so I don't think I need it ported just some things to add longevity an weight reduction thank you for being a genius stay well friend
I have a new 500i and am having a lot of trouble re-starting the saw after I've used it then shut it off for a few minutes. Once the saw has cooled down a bit, it will fire and die, fire and die, and this goes on as I pull the starter rope maybe a dozen times. What the hell??? I need a saw that starts and runs as it should. Any ideas? (So far, I hate this 500i.)
Try pumping the purge bulb a bunch of times when restarting hot it will cool the fuel down and should start better sometimes I’ve had to let them sit and idle after big cuts so computer can set it self back to idle running instead of full throttle
@@andybecker2693 your probably right but the Woodsman was asking about a Walkerized 500i not just any saw Donny has done up. I really don’t know the cost of what he charges but I do know how much just the saw alone is
@@treeman765 Donny knows what he’s doing so whatever the cost I’m sure it’s worth the money. To the timber fallers and production cutters these saws pay for themselves quickly and keep making money reliably. I’m just a firewood cutter and hobbyist but I’d love to own a Walkerized saw someday.

Hey Jay,what other big saws have you got. My 460 mag will be replaced by a 500i if and when the local saw shop gets mine in.

Did you do anything to the air filtration system before letting him test the saw? I know that those saws are known for its poor filtration from stock.
