My father was a JCO in Army.He became martyr in Siachen along with 32 soldiers on august 2010.
He was posted there for 1 year and used to tell how difficult to live there..My heartiest pray for all who sacrificed their life for nation.

The sad thing is there is no any recognition for the Tibetan special frontier force from the establishment number 22 based in chakrata. Tibetan soldiers are the first to conquer the tiger mountain due to their adaptability with heights. One of my uncle fought Bangladesh war and my bro is SFF served 7 months in saichen glacier. I hope some day Indian media would make a story on Tibetan soldiers serving in Indian arm force. Long live indo Tibetan friendship.

Thank u Major for enlightening us on Siachen.we recently visited leh and partner but couldn't not go to base camp.I think some prior permission required but it's our dream to reach at least base camp and salute to our bravest of bravest soldiers.

Those who can withstand -60 degree to -70 degree are called indian army..kya pride feel hota hoga siachen se niche aate hoge...those who abuse army should be ashamed of themselves
What lot of people do not know lot of these soldiers get permanent damage to their lungs due to high altitude and thin air after deployment there. They do their best to prevent it, by acclimatizing in the base came for many weeks to make their body get used to thin atmosphere.
The effects are life-long. Difficulty in breathing and fluid in lungs. Because of this a lot of soldiers become are given ‘disabled’ status after serving in siachen. So my respects to these brave men!

I am very luck to stay in BASE CAMP (Siachan) for 10 days and it was remarkable experience for me. Being there I have noticed that our BRAVE soldiers are doing incredible job there, seriously it is not cup of tea to live in this terrain. JAI HIND🙏🙏🙏🙏
