I went from chronically single my whole life to finally having someone and when I tell you I don't know if the stress of this relationship is worse than the depression I felt being alone. I almost miss my peace and yes sadness at times but also peace and solitude I used to have. Everything has a tradeoff I guess. Pros and cons to both.
The worst kind of lonely is when you’re with someone. Being single has been good for me. My ex told me I wouldn’t dare leave him. I responded I would rather be alone the rest of my life than married to him for five more minutes. I had never felt more lonely than when I was married to him.

You are an interesting person, I like listening to you. Someday you might meet the right person but never give up yourself. I was married in 1974 so this year is our golden 50th anniversary. He was the guitar player in a rock band when we met and we married within a year after meeting. We had two children but not for the first seven years so got to know each other. We give each other space, we allow each other to grow and change without fear. He supported me going to college when I was 42. I supported him to retire from a stressful job when he was only 57. I have two rooms in the house that are just mine, we sometimes take trips without the other. He nursed me through a year and a half cancer battle and never left my side. I have fixed his meals for 50 years and he still compliments everything I cook. He still calls me "my beautiful wife" every day. This is what I wish for you.

@@SusieQZee I had never been to college before so I had to start by taking high school math classes. It took me six years to get my bachelors instead of four but I had a job and a family and a difficult major but graduated at age 48. Older adults do well.
Society set the markers for success as marriage, kids+owning a house. But so many people stay in un-happy or unfulfilled marriages, purely to tick that box. People put themselves in financial difficulty just to tick the house box and also go through emotional turmoil in quest to have kids too. 100% believe that being happy with who you are and then counting blessings in life are what counts. It's never worth concentrating on society set markers to determine if your life is good/a success. You're so beautiful inside and out+it's wonderful you prioritise your happiness!! ❤
As a regular viewer, I was so taken aback when Carla spoke about her weight fluctuation and feeling self conscious. I think Carla has one of the most beautiful and enviable figures out there, it just goes to show how insecurity tries to hold us back. Been single for years, I have a house, a cat, a job, and I'm happy too, but a soulmate is always welcome. I feel we're in the same part of life and getting asked the same questions. Sometimes living in the moment and enjoying every day is fine. A soulmate will come onto your path when you aren't searching, I believe.

Ask your doctor (if you haven't already) to refer you to an allergist. My oldest daughter just turned 42. She saw an allergist last April and found out she has so many allergies to foods she had no idea she was allergic to! She also suffers from migraines and nothing (medication) was helping. Once she eliminated the foods she's allergic to, her migraines improved 80 %!
A man who was riding the ferry with us once shared that he constantly had headaches and started eliminating things that he ate and drank and realized that aspartame was giving him headaches and he was drinking diet coke daily. He was joking that now he drinks a diet coke every time he wants to get a headache

Can't imagine how someone would think you are lonely. You have so many friends and some family nearby, not to mention Samson. Your life looks pretty great to me! I decided to take a pottery class a few years ago at the local community college and had a lot of fun. But when I tried to use the wheel I kept launching the clay across the room so the teacher told me to just go back to hand building lol!
It's better to be single than just have a place filler to prove something to other people. I feel the same way. Some people don't understand that single people have friendships that can be deep like family. Just because you're single doesn't mean your lonely. I would never disturb my peaceful life and add someone that doesn't fit just to fit someone else's idea of what a 'normal' life is.

Thank you for sharing. I am at the end of a divorce and I’ve been in relationships since I was 17 years old and I’m now 41. I have never been with the right person or in a healthy relationship and I love my life now. I have my animals and I’ve owned my own home for 20 years. His toxicity is now gone and I love my house again. I have no interest to be in a relationship and if the absolute right person comes along then that’s fine but that will be up to God. I don’t have kids either and I love my life. I’ve never felt like I was missing anything.
This video was randomly suggested, probably because I watched a lot of other decluttering channels and tv show episodes, but I wanted to tell you that it's so refreshing hearing and seeing a woman speak in a down to Earth way, with a nice vocabulary and without the sing songy influencer voice and over the top gesturing, oh and not filling up the intro about some random out of place personal thing that turns into a whole story, and not chewing in the camera, so refreshing.

I am a 40-something year old woman. I own my own home, have a steady full time job and consult on the side. I have a dog and a great backyard and garden. Having a partner or kids is not the end goal for everyone. The only reason I own is because I live in the Midwest where there is a low cost of living. And I got into my mortgage when rates were low. It will be hard financially for me to move.

Maybe that is just an outside view, maybe it's colored by my own experience getting married VERY young and having kids young, being a SAHM for most of that time and now at nearly 50 looking for meaning in life haha! I can see that you have set yourself up well - financially, but also just with the life you have and the relationships you have! Carla, I appreciate you so much. I think you represent us California folks so well I grew up in Pasadena and in my 30s. I moved away and lived in Pennsylvania for almost 10 years. I’ve been back in California for 12 years now and the longer I’m here the more I fall in love with my state, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else and ironically, I married a New Yorker who is learning that the likelihood of us leaving again is close to never. There’s just no place I’d rather be. I don’t care how badly people talk about the state. I feel safe here I feel like the opportunities and my daily quality of life is just better than it is ever been living anywhere else and I’ve lived in other states but California is top-notch to me and if people don’t like it, they don’t have to come here.❤❤ thank you for sharing yourself with us. I'm married for the first time at 30.Thought I had it all figured out. By the time I was 36 it was over because I wasn't going to live with a cheater. I moved out started my life again, and was single for about 9 years before I started dating my current husband or should I say 2nd and last husband! I was happy with my life and I told him if he wanted to come along for the ride that was great and if not that was fine too. You have to get to that point and then it'll all fall into place. Also, do not let anyone shame you for your life decisions . You take care of yourself and if they think a woman needs to be married with children to be happy, they need to re-examine themselves I'm childless, 56, and thrilled not to have kids. Carla. What a nice surprise. Im in Ohio. You remind me of a much younger me. I once had plans to relocate to San Diego. Or Frisco. In the late 80s. Then my dad got very ill and I made no big plans. Lost him when I was 28. So I stayed where my career paid off. Now I have a quiet semi retired life, and I want to embrace some of my gifts so I can earn more. Life is short. I will say this, though: of all the travels, relationships, pets and peak experiences in my life, connecting with God and becoming for real baptized 13 years ago is the best thing that has happened to me. I no longer have a sense if longing., I dont seek many of the spiritual things. Im in my 60s now, and I finally get it. Peace and power over everything. Truly enjoy your channel. Thanks.

I was watching another video and I clicked very quickly to yours 😂❤… I will be 53 in August and I have three young adult children, I’m a grandma and doggies grandma and my family are my world. I am a homebody, I love people but I can only get just a bit of people dose for a little while. I’m single and after all the heartbreak in my life I am now healed, stronger, happy and most important to me at a very peaceful place in my life. Relationship sucked every bit of me I though I was going to lose my mind, my life in the end. I left, moved miles away and never looked back. I cut ties cold turkey no more opportunities, when I’m done I’m done and I’m thankful I said enough is enough - planned, moved and started healing and living. I can’t see myself with anyone but myself. I choose me rather than being with someone else. I love your videos and enjoy watching them in my room in a peaceful environment! I love hearing your story about Samson. That is what I named my dog many years ago when our paths crossed. He was my soul dog and we were together for 12 years. He crossed the rainbow bridge last April a week after celebrating his gotcha day. I miss him terribly. I enjoy watching your videos- they are very motivating to me. I love curating my home. I can relate to your sentiments regarding being single. I have moments sometimes where I question if I made the best decisions but I feel that I should live my life being open to what the universe presents to me and to make the best of my life. And while I do applaud all those fabulous ladies, I’ve passed that time in my life. Your a grown women doing your own thing doing your best to honor yourself, your family and friends. I love all the organizing and decluttering but I also love the vlogs and DITL videos too. I think your apartment is the cutest. It really has so much character. Just some paint and maybe a light sand on the floor and re-poly and I think it would really shine. Try talking to your landlord again and maybe he’ll go for a reduction of rent if you find someone to do it. Maybe your sisters family could help you out for relatively cheap. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m not from LA. But your neighborhood seems like a nice area to get out and walk Sansom. I do hope you can find a home to buy one day that suits your needs. I live a few hours north of you and also no matter how much we save, we can’t afford the homes in our area. Would I move out of the area? Maybe. But I really like that I can walk everywhere or take a bus and I get anywhere I need to be. Including the ocean. Hi Carla - This video was so refreshing. I am in my mid 40's born and raised in VA, moved to Atlanta, then moved to Dallas, TX 5+ years ago. I have never been married and have no kids. I lost my ex-boyfriend in a car accident in 2017 in Atlanta, hence the move to Dallas solo. I have dated since I have been here, but I haven't found that synergy that makes sense. I try to make my life full of things I enjoy, people I enjoy, and I live life as if tomorrow is my last. I have a career, travel a lot, and protect my peace. With that said, it's many single women with a similar story. Our prince charming will arrive soon. Thank you for sharing your story, and I hope you visit Dallas and host a meetup in the near future.

You are an interesting person, I like listening to you. Someday you might meet the right person but never give up yourself. I was married in 1974 so this year is our golden 50th anniversary. He was the guitar player in a rock band when we met and we married within a year after meeting. We had two children but not for the first seven years so got to know each other. We give each other space, we allow each other to grow and change without fear. He supported me going to college when I was 42. I supported him to retire from a stressful job when he was only 57. I have two rooms in the house that are just mine, we sometimes take trips without the other. He nursed me through a year and a half cancer battle and never left my side. I have fixed his meals for 50 years and he still compliments everything I cook. He still calls me "my beautiful wife" every day. This is what I wish for you.

@@SusieQZee I had never been to college before so I had to start by taking high school math classes. It took me six years to get my bachelors instead of four but I had a job and a family and a difficult major but graduated at age 48. Older adults do well.

Society set the markers for success as marriage, kids+owning a house. But so many people stay in un-happy or unfulfilled marriages, purely to tick that box. People put themselves in financial difficulty just to tick the house box and also go through emotional turmoil in quest to have kids too.
100% believe that being happy with who you are and then counting blessings in life are what counts. It's never worth concentrating on society set markers to determine if your life is good/a success.

I think Carla has one of the most beautiful and enviable figures out there, it just goes to show how insecurity tries to hold us back. Ask your doctor (if you haven't already) to refer you to an allergist. My oldest daughter just turned 42. She saw an allergist last April and found out she has so many allergies to foods she had no idea she was allergic to! She also suffers from migraines and nothing (medication) was helping. Once she eliminated the foods she's allergic to, her migraines improved 80 %!
That's also my story, it was a blessing, only a migraine when I eat rice or to much sweet.
A man who was riding the ferry with us once shared that he constantly had headaches and started eliminating things that he ate and drank and realized that aspartame was giving him headaches and he was drinking diet coke daily. He was joking that now he drinks a diet coke every time he wants to get a headache

Can't imagine how someone would think you are lonely. You have so many friends and some family nearby, not to mention Samson. Your life looks pretty great to me! I decided to take a pottery class a few years ago at the local community college and had a lot of fun. But when I tried to use the wheel I kept launching the clay across the room so the teacher told me to just go back to hand building lol!
It's better to be single than just have a place filler to prove something to other people. I feel the same way. Some people don't understand that single people have friendships that can be deep like family. Just because you're single doesn't mean your lonely. I would never disturb my peaceful life and add someone that doesn't fit just to fit someone else's idea of what a 'normal' life is.

Thank you for sharing. I am at the end of a divorce and I’ve been in relationships since I was 17 years old and I’m now 41. I have never been with the right person or in a healthy relationship and I love my life now. I have my animals and I’ve owned my own home for 20 years. His toxicity is now gone and I love my house again. I have no interest to be in a relationship and if the absolute right person comes along then that’s fine but that will be up to God. I don’t have kids either and I love my life. I’ve never felt like I was missing anything.
This video was randomly suggested, probably because I watched a lot of other decluttering channels and tv show episodes, but I wanted to tell you that it's so refreshing hearing and seeing a woman speak in a down to Earth way, with a nice vocabulary and without the sing songy influencer voice and over the top gesturing, oh and not filling up the intro about some random out of place personal thing that turns into a whole story, and not chewing in the camera, so refreshing.

I am a 40-something year old woman. I own my own home, have a steady full time job and consult on the side. I have a dog and a great backyard and garden. Having a partner or kids is not the end goal for everyone. The only reason I own is because I live in the Midwest where there is a low cost of living. And I got into my mortgage when rates were low. It will be hard financially for me to move.
I feel that my golden retriever today is 100% a reincarnated version my childhood golden who passed. We are true soulmates!!!

Hey Carla, it's interesting that someone asked if you were happy. I watch your channel and see that your life seems so fulfilling! Maybe that is just an outside view, maybe it's colored by my own experience getting married VERY young and having kids young, being a SAHM for most of that time and now at nearly 50 looking for meaning in life haha! I can see that you have set yourself up well - financially, but also just with the life you have and the relationships you have! I don't think having a husband and kids has anything to do with feeling happy or fulfilled in life! Thank you for sharing about your diet and fitness journey! Carla, I appreciate you so much. I think you represent us California folks so well I grew up in Pasadena and in my 30s. I moved away and lived in Pennsylvania for almost 10 years. I’ve been back in California for 12 years now and the longer I’m here the more I fall in love with my state, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else and ironically, I married a New Yorker who is learning that the likelihood of us leaving again is close to never. There’s just no place I’d rather be. I don’t care how badly people talk about the state. I feel safe here I feel like the opportunities and my daily quality of life is just better than it is ever been living anywhere else and I’ve lived in other states but California is top-notch to me and if people don’t like it, they don’t have to come here.❤❤ thank you for sharing yourself with us. I'm married for the first time at 30.Thought I had it all figured out. By the time I was 36 it was over because I wasn't going to live with a cheater. I moved out started my life again, and was single for about 9 years before I started dating my current husband or should I say 2nd and last husband! I was happy with my life and I told him if he wanted to come along for the ride that was great and if not that was fine too. You have to get to that point and then it'll all fall into place. Also, do not let anyone shame you for your life decisions . You take care of yourself and if they think a woman needs to be married with children to be happy, they need to re-examine themselves I'm childless, 56, and thrilled not to have kids. Carla. What a nice surprise. Im in Ohio. You remind me of a much younger me. I once had plans to relocate to San Diego. Or Frisco. In the late 80s. Then my dad got very ill and I made no big plans. Lost him when I was 28. So I stayed where my career paid off. Now I have a quiet semi retired life, and I want to embrace some of my gifts so I can earn more. Life is short. I will say this, though: of all the travels, relationships, pets and peak experiences in my life, connecting with God and becoming for real baptized 13 years ago is the best thing that has happened to me. I no longer have a sense if longing., I dont seek many of the spiritual things. Im in my 60s now, and I finally get it. Peace and power over everything. Truly enjoy your channel. Thanks.

I will be 53 in August and I have three young adult children, I’m a grandma and doggies grandma and my family are my world. I am a homebody, I love people but I can only get just a bit of people dose for a little while. I’m single and after all the heartbreak in my life I am now healed, stronger, happy and most important to me at a very peaceful place in my life. Relationship sucked every bit of me I though I was going to lose my mind, my life in the end. I left, moved miles away and never looked back. I cut ties cold turkey no more opportunities, when I’m done I’m done and I’m thankful I said enough is enough - planned, moved and started healing and living. I can’t see myself with anyone but myself. I choose me rather than being with someone else.

I am married , 44 years old , no job no child , my job is being a homemaker taking care of my disabled blind dog 🐕 and we rent. ❤my life is not perfect in many peoples life but to me is beautiful and fulfilled. I do all you said above in your clip , gym ❤ cleaning decluttering cooking , going to family gatherings , church , bookstore , malls ❤doing my own nails 💅, life is what you make most out of it. My husband works so we are ok so far. Prices of homes are so high in CA we can not buy on one income so we are renting the last 20 years , am married for 20 years ❤my husband is my soulmate

I love hearing your story about Samson. That is what I named my dog many years ago when our paths crossed. He was my soul dog and we were together for 12 years. He crossed the rainbow bridge last April a week after celebrating his gotcha day. I miss him terribly. I enjoy watching your videos- they are very motivating to me. I love curating my home. I can relate to your sentiments regarding being single. I have moments sometimes where I question if I made the best decisions but I feel that I should live my life being open to what the universe presents to me and to make the best of my life. Emotionally, I have been going through some tough times lately which I feel can be attributed to going through perimenopause. And while I do applaud all those fabulous ladies, I’ve passed that time in my life. Your a grown women doing your own thing doing your best to honor yourself, your family and friends. I love all the organizing and decluttering but I also love the vlogs and DITL videos too.
I think your apartment is the cutest. It really has so much character. Just some paint and maybe a light sand on the floor and re-poly and I think it would really shine. Try talking to your landlord again and maybe he’ll go for a reduction of rent if you find someone to do it. Maybe your sisters family could help you out for relatively cheap. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m not from LA. But your neighborhood seems like a nice area to get out and walk Sansom. I do hope you can find a home to buy one day that suits your needs. I live a few hours north of you and also no matter how much we save, we can’t afford the homes in our area. Would I move out of the area? Maybe. But I really like that I can walk everywhere or take a bus and I get anywhere I need to be. Including the ocean. Hi Carla - This video was so refreshing. I am in my mid 40's born and raised in VA, moved to Atlanta, then moved to Dallas, TX 5+ years ago. I have never been married and have no kids. I lost my ex-boyfriend in a car accident in 2017 in Atlanta, hence the move to Dallas solo. I have dated since I have been here, but I haven't found that synergy that makes sense. I try to make my life full of things I enjoy, people I enjoy, and I live life as if tomorrow is my last. I have a career, travel a lot, and protect my peace. With that said, it's many single women with a similar story. Our prince charming will arrive soon. Thank you for sharing your story, and I hope you visit Dallas and host a meetup in the near future.
