Motorhead Live fast Die old Part 1

- MOTÖRHEAD are rock's most stubborn survivors. Formed in 1975 by rock legend Lemmy Kilmister, they were once one of Britain's biggest bands. Renowned for being among the heaviest drinking, drug-fuelled womanisers in the business, the band made the 'Guinness Book of Records' as the loudest band ever. In the early eighties they blasted their way to the top of the charts with 'Ace of Spades'. Almost thirty years on, 'Motörhead: Live Fast, Die Old' follows behind the scenes as Lemmy and his band set off on their next U.K. tour. Lemmy is now 57. He still drinks a bottle of bourbon a day and shows little sign of slowing down. But how and why does he keep going? From Lemmy's West Hollywood apartment, crammed with Nazi memorabilia, knives and gothic skulls - to Norwich Student Union, Portsmouth Guildhall and the after gig parties in Newcastle, Manchester and Wolverhampton - the band are booked to play eleven towns in 13 days, living and sleeping on the same bus. Playing the same music, wearing the same clothes and still as controversial as they've always been, can a band really survive without changing?

He truly lived the life until the end! And he stayed in an apartment where as others had the mansions! True working class fella.
That's because he partied and drank most of his $ lol.
@@badjuju2612 sure his collection of WWII Nazi memorabilia cost a nice penny.
@King RoyalOne of the biggest L's I have ever seen. L
I'm pretty sure that area it's still known for having many celebrities living there.
Cos that's all he could afford
The only band that can unite metalheads, punks, and rock n' rollers. RIP Lemmy.
Motorhead really does have a special appeal that is uniquely broad. I point to one reason: attitude.
Metal, punk, and rock'n'roll all have ATTUTUDE in spades, and Motorhead's music and Lemmy pretty much personify attitude. Fundamentally, the attitude communicates "we make fast, loud, raucous music - if you don't like it, fuck off." It's a carefree attitude. It's a wild attitude. It's an attitude that speaks to freedom.
He'd'a made a GREAT prison warden in the southern states! When the convicts saw the speed, and the whiskey on the office desk, we'd know right away this MF'er is a gangster! I say that because he's fair as hell when you get to know him, and he would'nt favor any one particular ethnicity. We'd all be "equally worthless", and Warden Lemmy would still be God! \m/
Lemmy is the Johnny Cash of metal.
You know what? Great fucking comparison!
Bad JuJu Ya he is
fuckin awesome comment mate, i have johnny and lemmy (my two musical heros) tattooed on me
I know what you mean but you can’t compare Lemmy with anyone. He was his own man.
No. Lemmy is fucking lemmy
Every word out of Lemmy's mouth is gold.
“Do you like your woman slim”
“Who likes fat woman” lol
Yeah.love it.A man after my own heart. My favourite Lemmy quote.
I like them chubby...tastier pussy
@@jamesnorseman4863 I’ll respond to this comment after Iam done vomiting my ass off from it!!!! 🤢 🤮
@@jamesnorseman4863 Is it sweeter when they get diabetes by any chance?
@@jamesnorseman4863 So true
2:14 "buy in bulk, that's my advice.." love this man.
love the fact he lives in an apartment not a mansion
James Henderson yes but he had many small hits that made him money not to mention he wrote a few songs for big names that he collected royalties from
@Seth Belfort they did and not to mention the money he had leftover from his own expenses would have been more than enough to own shit beyond your wildest dreams
He made most of his money off Tshirts.
@@BilltheButcher1855 Metallica sent him like $125K when they covered Overkill for the garage days album.
People who worked with him would say he got a kick from performing but he wouldn’t get off his ass to pamper himself in luxury
He reminds me of my dad a lot in the way my dad lived his life the way he wanted and never gave a fuck what anyone thought but more honor and compassion than anyone I ever knew. Also had that twisted sense of humor with the perfect timing lol, quite strange how alike they really were. Rip lemmy and rip dad
Was he an ISTP too?
Disclaimer: Not one single glass of water was consumed during the entire documentary.
Lol good one
We are Motörhead and we play rock and roll!!
At 5:57: ``Do you ever get tired?''. Lemmy: ``Yeah.'' Grins. Laughs. That sums up Lemmy for me. Fucking funny legend.
kille
Me gustaria *sub*en español de niño fui poco a la escuela y no se otro idioma
Yes! Effortlessly funny because he was smart AF.
I used to serve him Jack and Cokes most nights in the early 80s, always a Gent. He put me on the M.H. 10th Birthday guest list ...My Ears were Bleeding .
RIP Lemmy
+Mikael Gustafsson wow I was reading they found the cancer two days ago, now he's gone....holy hell
+Mikael Gustafsson RIP :-(

Zafeiris Pertsinidis im soo sorry for the loss
Yeah brother.. he is in Valhalla by now! 🍺🍺🍺
I'm so gutted that I won't get to see motorhead but at least there music is still with us RIP Lemmy
This dude was awesome just being himself and living his dream.
I never bought a disk of Lemmy, but he has this aura and it seems he was a nice guy inside and also outside when the show ended! Rest in peace!
Waste of money. Good decision
That's where i go wrong, not buying in bulk.
Morbid Visions Lol
I’ll never forget the morning I heard he passed…😖…Motörhead will live forever 🤘🏻
Motörhead was the first band I ever saw live.
oh i was gonna ask if in the 70s
Motorhead is universal don't let this tart sway you Lemmy lost but not forgotten
mickey dee is a kick ass drummer...he was awesome with king diamond....
If Lemmy did not have a spotless work ethic, then I don’t know anyone who ever did.
These guys are the real deal , never sold out to the MSM "industry" .
Long live Freedom 🔥🎸💯🎵🔥
Lemmy’s right: ALWAYS buy in bulk. That’s why I get 30 packs of beer every time
Still hard to get ya head around that lemmy and Philthy are gone jeez these guys will be loved and remembered for ever .fill the universe and stars with ya grooves guys xx
Lemmy and Phil bounced off each other,Phil was crazy and had the best sense of humour Rip to them both.
"Goodnight dear" I just love that 💕
Yeah, but like...did you feel like he was subtly advancing on her?
This man just kept on playing they were on all the bills every year for most heavy festivals all over the world for the past 30 years.
He lived the Rock N Roll life to the maximum. Forever immortal as a legend. Long live Lemmy and Motörhead!!
This should be shown in schools. The world would be a better place. !!
of all the musicians ever.........Lemmy was my all time favorite one.........ever!!!
Full respect to Lemmy this man is a LEGEND and will it ever be.
I saw Motorhead one time and I was on acid. It was awesome. Thats about all i remember!! LOL
As the aging saying is going
When i listen to motorhead, so does everyone else around. The neighbor threw a brick through the window so they could listen to it louder
Damn he drinks and smokes a lot. i used to think i drank and smoked too much but damn him and ozzy gave me high hopes
To my knowledge Lemmy didn’t do any hard drugs, and Ozzy has a genetic mutation that allows him to resist substances. That may or may not be bullshit.
@@mivvy3182 he actually did hard drugs for quite a bit
@@mivvy3182 Are you kidding? Lemme was over the top across the board! He did all the Methamphetamines in consistently high levels. Not sure what source or reasoning would cause you to make a silly and false assumption
@@mivvy3182 he was a speed freak, hence the name motorhead.
I had my first Motorhead patch when I was 17, I still have it on my right shoulder and I’m 32.
Cool story bro
@kyfaydfsoab soo
They were good lads. We ran into them on the street in Toronto and they asked if there was a good pub around. We took them to our local, which was down the road, and proceeded to get pissed up with them. Good times. :)
God I remember this. My dad saw em at the Colston Hall Bristol England and he's been deaf ever since he was a roadie and said he was louder than anything louder than Glastonbury music festival nothing compared to the sound of motorhead and I love em too rip boys the original line up god bless all members of the team of motorhead
They crossed all rock categories..punk metal hard rock etc..immortal
Never give up. Just like Lemmy
Simply lovely 😍
"im not doing it for you, I'm doing it for me!" That is what more rockstars should say! that is what living that live is about! Atleast how i see it!
Yea sounds chill... sadly not true. Just for the bread, buoyo
The last real deal. R.I.P Lemmy.
he lived a crazy life.... rip buddy.... loved the. justin aint coming back comment for britney. I was lol
I Feel Extremely Lucky to have seen them LIVE a few Times. And a couple were UP FRONT.
Lemmy Really is a GOD
Interviewer: So Lemmy, what do you think about being the loudest band in the world?
Lemmy: Pardon? You're gonna have to speak up
When I was loading gear into the Rainbow on the Sunset Strip around 2012 or so, I saw the legend Lemmy sitting outside at the bar next to his famous Keno machine. Im not the kinda guy to walk up to someone like that and disrupt his night so I basically just watched him drink and gamble for a minute or two until I had to go set up my drums.
Motorhead one of the best of all time. Love em forever
I love his wall decorations fits the pad
MOTORHEAD is going to live Forever!
Simplicidade é tudo. Lemmy é foda.
He likes the aesthetic of it and has an interest in the great wars. Pretty simple, really. As he states in the documentary, if the Israeli army had the best uniforms, he'd collect them instead.
Motorhead forever!!!!!.....
May GOD bless all from Motorhead. From the beginning members to the last.
Saw them back in the 80s Cleveland Agora blew my ears out , it was Lemmes voice so loud
Rock n Roll died with Lemmy.
+Ed Mitchell loving the dp bro
Naa, we still have Ozzy.

Lemmy is the man We stand behind 🙏👌🧙♂️
i've never heard that record of theirs being broken... so its clearly a hard record to beat... and i lovehe just casually sits there shirtless drinking while being interviewed... no man like our lem
@smiley satanson, KISS beat them out for a minute. Till Manowar, took it back again, who Motorhead beat on the record. But, I believe a band called Sleazy Joe was the last to hold on record? (they discontinued to hold the record anymore) But, IMO Motorheads was incomparable. I was at that show in Cleveland at the Variety Theater when they broke the record. And it was beyond compare to the rest. The show was not only ear piercing. But, the walls, and ceiling started to crumble and fall on us all. That lead to closing the doors of the theater forever. They might have been beat by a few dB. But, the impact of that Motorhead show stands alone. As far as I'm concerned. To top it off when the fire marshals shut down the show. Me, and a few others kicked back for a minute trying to find a bass, or guitar pick on the floor. And, Lemmy came back to the stage and said to us. Hey, quit playing around with that. Let me make good and buy you boys a beer at the bar next door. So, off we went. Absolute first-class! Classic Lemmy style. Cheers!
@@216Numbskull that sounds awesome
Lemmy Is LEGEND!!!
RIP. Rock In Peace.
1:14 literally one of my favorite interviews maybe short
Iconic fucking dude. Love it. Legend in my eyes along with the beatles
Some dagger collection. Guy is the best.
He never gave up
Thanks these guys know how to rock
He didn’t drink Bourbon, he drank Jack Daniel’s American whiskey.
Jack Daniels is bourbon...
@@Road_Rash no it is not. Bourbon by definition must be distilled in Kentucky. Everything else is sour mash whiskey. Try Google if you don't believe me
@@Road_Rashno sir , it's not
He seemed like a man's man lol. Hard drinking, women, mustache, rock and roller indeed. Rip
A true fkn rock legend and a gentleman 🙏🤟

Wow... Just wow.
Shes only 24 and is interviewing the God lemmy!?!? I hope she realizes how absolutely blessed and lucky she is to be interviewing him at the age of 24
I wish i went to one of their concerts. But now i can't do that, ever.

he knew how to play about 3 notes on the bass.....all of his riffs were very similar....he would turn the amp up all the way with so much gain that you could not make out what he was playing.....
2:13 I know Lem preferred Old No.7 but sorry Lem but I love my Gentlemen Jack! \m/
I'm having a few Gentlemen Jack's this evening, had to find this video again! "Buy in bulk" is some good advice kids! lol
Did you hear the good news? After all these years, Lemmy is finally… finally… finally about 5% sober.
Lemmy and motorhead RULES
As long as he was at it he really didn't have much money at the end
He didn't play for the money. He made a good living, had all he required to be happy and didn't have to work 9to5. That's success to me
Nope, but he is a big collector of stuff from the WW2 and he is a big fan of that time.
LEMMY the great, is a legend
RIP Lemmy! I almost saw you. But you Left us all in the Concert Hall...in Philly. Oh yeah honey. AMEN Philadelphia USA 🙏☦️❤️🇺🇲
Brilliant stuff bless you lemmxxxx👍
Reporter: How much do u drink everyday?
