The Ultimate Drinking Guide with Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead
It was produced by Brainpool for the MTV Show "Kuttner." with host Sarah Kuttner. The idea for the "Drinking Guide" came from our brillant author Eric PfeiI when the opportunity came up to meet Lemmy. I conducted this interview on October 20th, 2005 before the Motörhead-concert at Columbia Halle in Berlin. It was just too good to mould away in my video-archive so I share it here . Please excuse the poor quality i just had a bad DVD-rip. Thanks for the wise words Lemmy and rest in peace!

We will never get another one like Lemmy. He lived his life the way he wanted
Kinda sad for the rest of us isn't it.
In this snowflake society it is near impossible to live like Lemmy.
@@careful...Icarus nar it's fucking easily to live your life drinking a bottle of jd a day. Whether you should is a different story.
Drinking is very obviously a small part of how Lemmy lived his life and did not define it. So it IS nearly impossible to live today like he did. He said what he wanted to whoever he wanted whenever he wanted. Some poor wittle baby boo boo would get their feelings hurt if Lemmy told them essentially the truth about anything.
@@geraldking4752 if you are drinking a bottle of jack a day it is definitely a reasonably large part of your life.
I opened for Motorhead in the 80's. Drinking with Lemmi is very simple. Accept the fact that he's gonna be the big dog and you're the puppy. He walked in backstage with the gallon of Jack that he walked around with, and says "You ready? Have a shot, mate"....So, I take a healthy shot that made my eyes water, and hand it back, and he takes this glug glug glug pounder without batting an eye. He didn't twitch, or nothing!!! I think I had to pick up my jaw to look as cool as him right then, and he wished me a good set and off he went. He was the nicest guy I ever met out there in the chaos.
Andre the giant may be the only man who would've been able to out drink Lemmy, and even then that's kinda unfair
Drinking with Lemmy.. sadly I will never be able to cross that off my bucket list..
Anyways, thanks for sharing that story. He seemed like a really nice and friendly guy.
What was the name of your band m8?
@@19800bon sentinal beast?
@@jungle_cs I seen Motörhead a few times in the eighties ( mid to late) but that name doesn’t ring a bell. Was just wondering in case I had maybe seen you guys 👍
Countless people have said they never once saw Lemmy incapacitated or out of control whilst under the influence of anything,a true master of his art
there is endles of drinking storys, non i have found is negative, as far as I can tell he never misbehaved in public while being drunk or drugged, and that is impressing as he probably was both for most of his life
@@NYCLAURZA the hell are you on about?
That's a really good point. There are lots of interviews with him where he's clearly had a few, or more than a few, but I've never seen one where he's blitzed.
@@NYCLAURZA
In English please?
@@NYCLAURZA gf? Gd? And why are you writing in such an awkward way? It's a mess
Seen Motörhead 5 times. It was both an honor and a privilege to say that I’ve been in the same room as Lemmy.
@Fryx Ur I have seen. Seen, for short.
Great fucking band and the loudest I've ever heard.
He still owes my missus a tenner from London, 1982! Lol
How's your hearing after five of those shows lol
@@lucistired it’s a little damaged.
"Shit. You sure you're gonna go?"
God I miss Lemmy.
Just putting yourself out there for the whole world the see and laugh with since the late 60's...nice bloke.
In Greece heavy drinkers who know their art always have a glass for water next to their drinking glass. Staying hydrated while getting drunk lets you end the night much more pleasantly.
In America, a finger down your throat. 🤮
Unfortunately one of the worst feelings in the world is waking up both hungover and heartbroken...
That's why you start drinking again in the shower.
@@mikehunt4797 this guy right here. Brilliant. See, cause you're cleaning yourself up. Being responsible AND getting a little hair of the dog. A fine example of multitasking.
"To get hangovers you have to stop drinking" (Lemmy)
@@denomdemon 😅
Oh ya. I went through that recently. Even worse is if you fall asleep behind the wheel and fuck your car up on a lonely highway. The level of guilt, shame, despair... it's enough to change a man's tune very quick!
I'm taking these words of advice and living by them. Thank you, Lemmy.
live life by and for you. no model needed
Yea, also it really depends who long a life you want I guess.
"drink enough so that ya miss, you'll probably feel a lot better about it in two weeks" LMAO
If you didn't know him, you'd look at him and expect words of wisdom like "Start drinking in the morning, don't show emotion, don't be a pussy, you ought to be tough...". But no, he drops something like "have half a bottle of white wine and [...] be sad" which is such a great piece of advice.
Hands down best, most straight forward and truly right answers
thank you for this interview
Lemmy was the greatest poet and scholar of his generation. And everybody take a swig to that lol
Cheers! "Have a good set, mate"!
Amazing Lemmy! He was so brilliant, with a good sense of humour, apart from being a True Legend of Hard Rock! We miss you so much, Brother!!! ❤️♠️❤️🤟🏻🇮🇹🎸🥺
Legend. I miss the dude, and to be honest Phil and Eddie as well - Ill always maintain that they were the best lineup.
They all were great lineups.
Saw Motorhead in Oshawa Ontario best concert this town has ever witnessed 🤘❤️
I do have a little trouble of hearing due to excess of racing cars and loud music, but I think I only understood six words that he said. I guess it's six better than Ozzy.
Lemmy rules!!!!!!!
Ein echter Lemmy...
Sad 😢that he is Gone. He was a great guy.. that’s what I meant.
half a bottle of white whine
@Mr. Brenman21 Half a bottle of white wine is what Lemmy recommended to drink at the "sad" funeral of someone you do like, @ 0:52 in the video. Were you even paying attention?
@Mr. Brenman21 it's not allot for your mum that's for sure 🥴😋
Thanks for the advice Lemmy ♠️
best interview ever 🤟
Lemmy was a true GENTLEMAN. 🤘🏻♠️🤘🏻
Only went to see ac/dc nec Birmingham I wish I would have gone to see motor head 😕 my sister gave me her single ace of spades to me and as a 70s born vaguely remember when it came out...

lemmy ~ feul'd by booze , driven by sex
Lammy ,has nice Smile!
Yeah. My good friend LAMMY had a great British smile. Blasphemy.
Drink half a bottle of white wine and be….sad 😂😂
Lets just sink it for a second,
At a FUNERAL:
- If you didn't like them, have fun, drink a bottle of Jack.
- If you liked them, drink half a bottle of white wine because that's SAD.
😂😂😂
Harken to the Wisdom of our Rock Savior, Lemmy! ;)
Who would win in a fight Lemmy or God? Trick question cos Lemmy is God!!! 😎🤣
Looks like he could be in hells angels but he's British
Interesting how the subtitles turn 'pint' into 'litre'. There's quite a difference! A pint is 568ml and a litre is 1000ml, so for those of you who can't do maths, a pint is just over half a litre. Oh, and that's a UK (imperial) pint.
Thanks for pointing that out Michael 🙏🏻 The subtitles say half a litre so thats close to a pint.
@Michael Stephen, Plus, who GAF when we're talking about Lemmy & the steady daily drinking habits of a true Rockstar like the great Mr. Kilmister, seriously? We're not counting oz.'s much less bottles unless it's white or brown. WTF, real talk! ++++++Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul++++++

Why open with the Dead Kennedys.?
Is this the bass player from Hawkwind?
Lemmy is god.
A year ago?!?!🙄
Nazi ?
No, British. Collecting the losing team's spoils is only logical. Nazis don't exist anymore, just their bad ideas.
Nope.
