I'm struggling to get my garden started in Perth, I started from scratch in the middle of summer 🙄 I'd love to do more plants in containers but I don't want to spend a ton of money on containers and its hard to know what is best to plant in.
I’m growing herbs, lettuce and leafy veggies in pots and pick regularly. One thing I don’t do well is succession planting so I’m going to try your tip to grow at different times and different types
@@ngairepowell2022 this summer has been a struggle!! Autumn will be much easier to get things going. Good soil and mulch are key for our Sandy soils and hot winds 🌱 Maybe keep an eye out for containers on marketplace some cheap ones pop up every now and then
@@Pachinko1 it’s so easy to plant and just think about keeping those ones going succession planting is the next step and will help you keep momentum going 🙂🌱
Thankyou.my cauliflower is nearly ready to be picked, so I will plant some seeds around them now.🙂I use guinea pig poo & make a solution to use as a fertiliser.1part liquid to 10 parts water.
*HOOOOOW my soul SUSTAINABLE HOLLY without his yellow banana overalls, always putting good content, please don't stop gardening, keep on doing it, GO GO GO GO GOOOOO, happy gadrdening!!!!!*
Hey Holly! All tips gratefully received :-) My favorite to try more of this growing season is succession planting because your advice was more practical than theoretical and planting something once a day is a regime even an OCD like me could pull off. BTW...I have planted Curry Leaf as an understory plant and the shade gives it a slightly milder flavor than usual. Also Oregano is planted in a similar position and is cascading proudly over a large rock that forms one of the corners of a south facing raised rock garden. Cheers!
You can steam pumpkin leaves lightly and use as a wrap, have you checked out Morag gamble she is awesome she is a Permaculture teacher and lives in a eco village in Queensland great video but you over lapped voice in the middle LOL wasn't long though. 😀
What do you grow in containers? Herbs are always a favourite of mine. Also sorry about the editing bug 🐛😅
*Continue like this, I like it*

Great selection of tips - will definately reconsider some of the ways I manage herbs.
Thank you! Have you got some herbs growing wild? 🌱🌱🌱
@@SustainableHolly sure have. More parsley, mint and basils than I can keep up with and coriander the I’ll take over soon.
@@matthewspatch9529 I let my parsley go to seed and it literally grew in the cracks of the pavers 🤪
