I would love to know what seeds you plant below :) I planted some Zinnia which are edible flowers and also Watermelon Radish which is one of my favourite salad additions.
My gosh, you should see my garden. I have some video's on my channel if you'd like to take a look. I have 25 fruit trees coming this week which I'm really excited but overwhelmed about LOL. My theory is the quicker you get them the quicker I'll have fruit LOL. The only fruit I have got from the 15 trees I have so far is a couple of mulberry's LOL
Hi Holly, love your videos and your garden! I'm also in Perth, and it's so so helpful to see your experiences of what works in our climate. Can't wait til my fejoas trees are as big as yours! Thanks : )
Hi Holly, do you know that the leaves of sweet potato are edible? It’s so delicious and nutritious! Sauté garlic and onion and then the sweet potato leaves. Season it with soy sauce to taste and a pinch of cracked black pepper.
very nice!I just planted yarrow, pink yam, zuchinnis, zinnias & potatoes..Exciting! I have a crab apple tree which is just getting flower buds & an apple tree with small apples..Ooohhh & my giant pumpkins are getting giant!! 1st time I have grown giant pumpkins..😊
Its interesting the difference. Here in Melbourne we finally started to get consistent 30c days. So our plants aren't struggling its the right temp that everything is exploding in growth, as long as I keep water up. We went camping so things have slowed. I always wanted to try those radish watermelons, have to find the seeds we have here. Although we can't do any seeds yet, that's for next week lol. Along we planting out 8 strong citrus wall. We got a gopro for Xmas, once I push past my autism hesitation I will record something lol.
I am hoping we will be out the other side of the 40s club now 🥵 and things can start to flourish again. Oh yay I love growing citrus! I have x6 varieties but there are so many more I hope to get. Absolutely give it a go! You can do it 🌱🌱🌱
@@SustainableHolly we will be mid 30's till Thursday. Might get rain. BOM has been wrong about us getting rain for months. Fingers crossed yours breaks soon. I might actually get a video done soonish.
Maybe you can get some chickens to keep the grass under control around your plants or rabbits, rabbits are super cute and the pooh is instant fertiliser that doesn't have to be composted.
Great idea! I have been really thinking about chickens so it could be on the cards. I’m just super paranoid about snakes and chickens attract mice which then… 🐍 plus we have a dog so I haven’t rushed into it yet.
@@SustainableHolly im not sure if my reply went through or not but we just got some chooks and we have 2 cats and a husky lol. The husky has killed one of our xhicks as they are still inside
Recently planted Lebanese Cucumbers, Hawkesbury Wonder Beans, Butter Beans, Blue Lake Beans & Detroit Beets. Next month will be really busy getting my winter crops started. Been feeling for you guys in Perth. We’ve had a bit cooler & wetter summer here in South Australia because of La Niña, but that brings its own problems, like grapes all succumbing to powdery mildew :(. Dreading when weather pattern turns to El Niño because that’s when we get days on end of 40+.
I love the Lebanese cucumbers!! So good! Just finished day 6 of 40s yesterday I’m really hoping we are out the other side and things can really flourish 🌱 it’s very stress ton the plants that’s for sure 🥵
Tass1 Trees in Swan Valley. A nursery that actually genuinely cares for the quality of the plants. I've bought all my fruit trees from there and can highly recommend
Wow my garden looks like a bush fire went through yours is lush in comparison. Do you grow everything from seed? Can you tell us what you plant when and how you use the food you grow
My front garden looks like that haha the back is more established now. Hopefully I can develop it to be the same. I will try to do some more when I am planting for sure! And I want to do more garden to plate live videos too
I like your videos but could shorten them a bit and cut out the fluff and repetition. Can see your channel has potential to get big 😊 followed quite a few you tubers and watched them blow up and I think you could too with a few tweaks. Your good and camera and good content, just drags a bit.
I would love to know what seeds you plant below :) I planted some Zinnia which are edible flowers and also Watermelon Radish which is one of my favourite salad additions.
I never knew zinnias were edible..😊
We planted zinnias last spring!! Absolutely love them. So sunny and durable ❤

@@monsurbanpatch Takes patience but then booom! so much fruit! I'm still waiting for that too hahaha

How exciting! I was hoping to grow giant pumpkins this year but the summer was too much for them. I will definitely try again next year 🎃
@@SustainableHolly I will let you know how I go when they have fully grown.I have3 atm about the size of a basketball. 😊
Absolutely love your garden Holly! I really want to start growing my own food and i'm excited to learn from you! 😍🙌🏻
Thank you 💚 you can do it 🌱🙌
Yup it's hot. more 40 degrees and up consecutive days. There was bush fire near work today in Nedlands.
Seeing those 40s on the forecast is always a little crazy! 🥵
@@SustainableHolly The next water bill, aaarrrggghhh!!!

Great video Holly, definitely lots of fails here but not giving up, even in this heat :-)
Yes 🙌 that’s what I like to hear 🌱🌱
Holly, where did you find elderflower? I'm in Perth and can't find any!
A friend gave me this but I might take some cuttings so keep an eye out 😁
@@SustainableHolly Will do!
I’m in Perth too, can you please tell me where you got your Fajoa from? 😊
I was gifted mine about 7 years ago but they will be at most nurseries. They call them pineapple guava here.

25c is newfie boiling point. I really don't know how people live in constant 30+c temperature!
It’s so hard to do anything 😅 but just part of the package living here in Perth
