Recently i found out a relative is failing school due to an anxiety disorder, the problem is not paying attention, having to get up every 5 minutes, i mentioned the figit spinner to her dad and he said it would be a good idea, something for her hands to fidget with so she wouldnt get up every 5 minutes, school banned them due to them being like Pokemon cards, kids stole them off eachother because its the "new craze"... makes me sick

It's a toy that made to have legitimate use but was turned into a craze by people who didnt need it buying it because it seemed cool and whatnot.
There's like five people in my class who are constantly playing, not using as intended, PLAYING with them in class and it's so distracting. Hell, one of them even has ADHD and it doesn't seem to be helping him concentrate, if anything it just made him worse!

Tbh I find these really helpful tools to use as replacements for bad habits. For example, I tend to pull at my hair a lot and these actually distract me from doing that. It's the fact that people are using these just to be "cool" that makes me and many others extremely annoyed.
