- After three months at sea working I return to my Alaskan home in the mountains. Plans for this time home? Not much other than relax a bit and get the snow machines ready for winter fun. Winter will be here soon. Lots of trail camera action at the end of this video, watch until the end.

I thank God for bringing you back home safely for a well deserved rest and recuperation .
Nice to see you back Ed. Good morning, if you had fell off the face of the planet, but glad to see your one piece after 3 months of working!😅 Thank you for the beautiful entry of the video. Like you said, it's time to relax you put your time in😊 God bless
Good to see you back sir.
Thank you. Good to be back.
@@MountainMariner why is your splitting stump so high? so you don’t have to bend over so far? Are you home for a couple of months before you have to head back to work?
Welcome home!!thank you for the beautiful pictures it makes my heart sing. You live in a gorgeous area!!!kick back and enjoy your time off! 🍻
Alaska treats me to some amazing scenery. Daily.
Welcome home! Glad to see a video. Love your world.
I'm so thrilled you're back. Everyone has missed you, and your life. It's like withdrawal symptoms. Keep well. Restore refresh.
Definitely a good plan to rest. You sound completely exhausted. Love the videos & photos you share, but those take time & energy to do, so totally would understand you not doing those when you need the rest & down time. We are glad you finally got home & are safe. Thanks for the update.
I think that black bear was looking for a nice tasty snow machine seat to chew on or maybe some delicious plastic fuel jugs for lunch! Lol... Some great wildlife footage. Thanks for sharing!
Good Afternoon and nice to see one more of your videos 😊.
Wow! You are good with that drone. The scenes are breath taking! So glad you are back and I'm glad you are going to rest a bit. You are a man on a mountain in the middle of nowhere with thousands of us tagging along. So glad you are home. We have missed you!!
Three months!! Long time away from home. You deserve a rest. Take care. Bob in Nevada
Thanks for sharing. Hope your time at home is rejuvenating for you. Exciting camera clips❤️🙏🙂
Home again home again! Back at your peaceful mountain! 🙏🇺🇸💗👏🏻
Nothing like getting your land legs back.
This time I gotta kick back and relax. Get some wood cut. ... I know splitting wood can kind of be relaxing in a way. Felling, cutting, bucking, bending/lifting, hauling, then splitting and more lifting and finally carrying it into the stove. All that is a lot of work. You have an incredible place there all around you. To be able to sit on the porch and select what you will have fresh for dinner. Go catch some fish if you want. That is what dreams are made of. You have put in incredible work to be where you are at now.
Thanks for watching! The wood chores have to be done whether or not you feel like it. Once I get the woodshed built it won’t have to be done so often though.
It’s always exciting to see what your world looks like up there on the mountain! Thank you,Sir!
Glad you enjoy it!
Love seeing the wildlife ! 🦘🇦🇺
Absolutely gorgeous beautiful wow you sure know how to make it such talent thank you so much for your gift that you have been given and to share it with us and inspiration you truly live in God country to see beauty the way it was meant to be enjoy you time off you surely deserve it take care love always 💕😘
WOW! Finally a video from you! WELCOME HOME! The Moose and Bears really take advantage of your trails! Wonderful to see all the wildlife footage!
The local wildlife seem to enjoy my interstate system for sure! 👍
So cool, when you had your drone flying over the river you could see the fish in the river.
That was awesome!
Rest well!!
Good to see you safe and back!! We really enjoy your videos and the MUSIC!! Excellent!! Thank you sir. God Bless.
Thank you kindly
I've missed you Ed.Im glad to see your back home and doing well.I need a haircut too, hope to see you next week
WELCOME HOME ED 🎉👏👏👏👏🎊
I can see your 3mth stint at sea has been both a positive and a negative. What you lose on the roundabout you win on the swings ... so to speak. You outdid yourself with opening montage ... exquisite drone, camera and game camera footage. Delightful to hear your easy-listening voice again resounding from your moubtain home!!! There's nothing quite like following you in your daily chores or adventures. Summer or winter they each hold their own wonders that you manage to unfold before our curious eyes. I'm looking forward to simply kicking back and relaxing with whatever you decide to share, whenever you choose to share it. I've just spent 7wks doing 3 half hour stints every day: 9am 2pm 7pm visiting with my 22yr old grson in the Acute Mental Hospital upon his diagnosis of schizophrenia !!! Your video is such a welcome relief from my world , at this time. They've finally found the meds that are helping him adjust back to reality. You def present a world of sanity in a very disturbed world. I trust you'll enjoy your time of relaxing and rejuvenating at your own pace and I'll be one happy Nanna when you release another video of your miracle mountain home. It is like a healing balm being poured out on this troubled world in which we live. Sorry for the lengthy narration , do hope it didn't bore you to tears. 3mths makes there a lot to cover. 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏👍👌✌️👏✝️🇺🇸
I cannot believe how cold your temperatures are in the middle of the summer! 😮 Amazing pictures , Thank You for that.
Enjoy your time off and rest for a change!
Glad to see ya home. Thanks for sharing.
Nice to see you back home! Hope you get some relaxation in while back. Must say, I'm looking forward to your videos when the snow returns it's just so beautiful. as always, until next time take care
I’m missing the snow too! Soon enough it will be back.
I love your music. Glad to see that you are back
So glad you're all right, been worried a bit! Good to see you! Please rest as much as you will let yourself.... Your trails are a highway, the bears even use your stairs!
Yes they do. I like how that one black bear turned over my stepping stones too.
An old guy was just wondering when your next upload would be. Thank you sir.
Welcome home!!! Relax, refuel, refresh! Beautiful video.
Thank you, I will
Welcome home Ed!
I also got back from a 12k mile trip to bring my motorcycle back to Alaska. I kept checking for your video on the road and had wondered what happened. Glad to see you back home for a well needed R&R. Your videos are the highlight of my day.
Thank you!🙏
12k on a bike is a long ride! Thanks for the nice comments.
Glad you are safe. Welcome home!
Great intro….so many cool drone views. Such a majestic scene
Glad you enjoyed it, gotta get a new drone soon. The one I have isn’t doing too well lately.
Hi there! Welcome home! Your video couldn’t have come at a better time. We’re ‘off grid’ too thanks to hurricane Helene. She gave us a real beat down. Hope you relax a lot. You have earned it.
Oh wow! Sorry to hear that. Devastating storm that affected so many.
@@MountainMariner Thanks. This far inland, the tornados were pretty wicked. About 2 weeks ‘off grid’ or so we are told.
Welcome back! Nice to see your neighbors keeping an eye on the place for you. 😊
They are! Great home security system while I’m away.
Welcome home.
Right on, right on!!!
Glad you're back. Rest up. Really enjoyed all the wildlife.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Thank God your back Ed, I missed your video's, stay warm !
I’m always warm. Probably why I like winters so much.
Nice to see you back to your happy place, rest relax and enjoy the moment🇨🇦🥰
I am!
Hey Ed, welcome home. It must be very difficult being away for 3 months. Great video, love the wildlife. Enjoy your time off and please don’t worry about posting content. You deserve time to recharge and just enjoy life and the beauty that’s around you.
Thank you, I will
Wow that's a nice pad you have there
Awesome, welcome back.
A 3-month stint is no joke. So good to be home. R n R sounds good. Be well and feel great soon. You are appreciated. Awesome drone and trail cam footage! 👍😎🇨🇦✨️
Thanks!
Welcome home! Great idea to rest after all that work. Nice drone footage, you capture the beauty so well as usual.
Thank you kindly
Good stuff
So stoked to see this posted!
Hi Ed! Nice to see you again. The intro was stunning, like always. It never gets old. Yes, indeed you need to take it easy and enjoy the beautiful weather....no snow yet!! Of course you will find something to do at your own pace. Let me keep on enjoying the video. Be safe, be well. Until your next video.
Thanks again!
Welcome back! So sorry you had to work so much but maybe it was a good thing. Enjoy your beautiful home and RELAX. Fall is my favorite time of year, but you certainly do not get much color. I love your drone footage; always puts me in a calming mood!
So glad you are back home again. Missed ya.
Thank you!
Beautiful!! 😀
was wondering if i had missed a video from ya.......i had to work some extra shifts before retiring but nothing like your three month stint!! take some time to enjoy your time home, the world will still be there when you are done.
Welcome back. That was a long shift. Glad everything is good & like you said"time to relax" enjoy.
Thanks 👍
Oh heck 3 months solid on a fishing boat would drive me to the nuthouse. You absolutely deserve to kick back and recharge those batteries! Gorgeous video scenes - much appreciated.
My profession isn’t fishing. Oil spill response is actually what I do.
Good to see you back Ed! You've been missed! Hope you stick to the plan and just relax but somehow that doesn't seem all that likely! Enjoyed the trail cam footage...that black bear looks right at home around the cabin☺
I probably won’t relax. But at least I’m making an attempt. Yogi and me are buddies.
@@MountainMariner I recently read something pretty cool written by Einar Selvik about his views on the bears. Thought provoking for sure. I'm glad you're buddies!
So glad to see you! Enjoy your down time. Take care and stay safe!
Thank you! Will do!
Welcome home Ed!
Good to be home.
It's been a while, was happy when i saw that notification. Tbh I'd love to see included in your vids some of that cosy interior with the fire going and what have you... Seeing the bears right next to the house .. jeez .. what a feeling
Noted! Going fishing in a bit and getting some underwater footage. I’ll add some cabin interior video in the next one.
Glad you're finally home !
Me too!
Awesome video Ed. Many parts seems like National Geographic documentary.
Yay, you’re back! I bet you missed your place!
Always miss my place.
How nice to see a video from you again-you seemed weary and in need of the solace that your cabin offers x It must be a strange time decompressing from life onboard a ship surrounded by others to life on the mountain top alone in nature. Wishing you well and an early snowfall!
Early snow would be very welcome! Can’t wait to ride again and explore.
Welcome back sir.
Almost time for snow on the ground.
Looking forward to the snow! ❄️
@@MountainMarinerI'm like you, a hot body that enjoys the winter albeit my winters now are hotter than your summers LOL it's all relative, right. 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏👍👌👏🇺🇸
Keeping work to a bare minimum this trip home sounds good. Watch out for the other bears!
Always alert is my motto.
Missed you! At least the bears left your home alone. Hope that you have a good amount of time off.
Minor bear damage over at the outhouse. But it’s no big deal.
Enjoyed the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great footage as always
Thanks again!
Good to see you back. I have never seen Ed relax 😊
Relaxing right now! (Off camera)
I don’t know what I like more the drone shots or the trail cams , both awesome, I did notice no calves, that’s a bummer,
I rarely see calves up here.
@@MountainMariner I would think if mama moose is around baby would be in tow , good stuff nonetheless
Hey, Big Ed, I know how you feel when it comes to just relaxing.
Welcome home, hopefully you can get 90 days off now to rest and do your winter preps
Only 30 days off unfortunately.
Welcome back, Ed. You've got an ear for music. Love it! Sry, to hear the work news. Absolutely, gorgeous drone footage between the land and the animals. God bless! 🇺🇸
Thanks for watching! Music is tough. Hard to please everyone no matter what you pick. But it is what it is.
It's so good you are finally home. Three months at work is a long time to be away! I sure do wish you a good restful time home. Though I do understand, there is always something to be done. Maintenance is a never-ending on any structure that is built.
The video from the trail cams was great! You sure have a lot of activity around your cabin! I've wondered if the Bears less active by the cabin when you are home?
I hope you enjoy your time home to the fullest. That the weather is good for what you want to get done around the cabin.
Thanks for watching and supporting my channel!
....after three month at work..... It's very long time not being home! You missed all summer :/ - most livable season in Alaska
Welcome home! You do need some chill time after working 3 months straight. Hope you get a good long time home this time! Love the animal footage…especially the bear scratching his back. lol!
Subscribed from Curmudge site😊
Thanks for subbing!
Glad to see you back home Ed . I have been waiting for some updates , thought you met some younger woman with Daddy issues and moved to a little tropical island in the southern hemisphere to start all over . just kidding lol.
No tropical islands for this guy. But I’m open to the younger women with daddy issues. You know any? lol.
Welcome back. It's been too long 😊.
It has!
I'm glad that you're going to focus on relaxing a bit. I can imagine you've missed your mountain sanctuary.
Glad you're back.
The captions confused me as to what you were going to do to that stump, haha.
Enjoy the time off. -Matt in The U.P.
Captions? I’ll have to go look. I can only imagine what the caption robot translated…
Ha! The closed caption robot isn’t working too well. 😂
Beautiful footage as always! Going to to be watching this video again for sure. Drone pics from the ship were great! Looks like you moved the trail cams higher since we're not seeing Yogi's dental photos. 😂 The GardePro cam photos are really clear.
How's the wind turbine holding up after being away so long? Thank you for sharing your videos. ❤👍
Lots of the cameras are mounted 7-10 feet up trees but they climb the trees and mess with them still. Wind turbines are doing good. GardePro makes a decent camera for a good price. I’ll be buying more of them.
Seems like quite a bit of bear activity but they do respect your electric fence on your cabin
As do I after I accidentally touched it once.
Welcome home Ed. Kick back and recharge. When will the bears den up.?
The latest I’ve ever had a bear on trail camera was November 10th.
you ever seen a product by fifth ops they are perimeter trip alarms to keep around areas you don't want the bears. unless that's electric you have.
Never seen it. The electric fence does well. And my cell cams alert me when something approaches the cabin.
Don't suppose you get 3 months off now? Well, take what you can get and enjoy some good R&R time.
Unfortunately not.
Great video, Ed. How's the damage to the cameras lol?
Glad you're getting some time off! Enjoy it. 😀
Two more cameras down from bear maulings. I’ve lost count how many camera’s they’ve destroyed.
Would also be interesting to follow your life at sea if you are able to make content.
Fairly strict social media policy at work so that’s out.
For a second there I thought Bigfoot was attacking the trail camera. Mighty scary seeing a bear doing that. No wonder you always have a gun on you. BTW what type of gun is it? My husband wanted me to ask you. Enjoy your time off, you earned it.
The one on my chest is a G20 10mm. The shotgun is a Mossberg 930 JM Pro.
I hope your time off is a little longer than normal since I've been watching I've never known you to be away so long.
You look tired, just take it easy put your feet up You say you're going to rest and then you do s*** all day.
I just need a haircut. My mop makes me sad and homeless! 🤣
Do you ever do any beach combing on the beaches there where the mountain comes down to the water?
I can’t while at work. It’s not safe either when unarmed.
Tony the famous hair cutter from New York is on his way to alaska! He would like to cut your hair for free and is "on tour" with one of the Trump-Helis on the next weekend!
I can call him and ask him for a cool cut! But for real: I bought myself a Braun haircutter with a hair cut system. I can choose 5 millimeter- or3 centimeter. Then I bought a smal hand mirrow and stand with the back to the big shower mirrow so can see my cut from the hand mirrow. Its easy and it looks cool- I save much $$$ in a year. I make it shorter on the sides and around the ears bacause of the swett- and on top I let it stand more because "of the cold". 3 Months working is hard. But the cabin is allways stabil. Take time to rest.
When I was in the german army I was once not allowed to leave the barracks for 6 months. 5 Days normal service weekend in the security team and no chance to have som rest from the uniform. I got some bad feelings. I used my mountain bike to drive in the nights around the tank- exp- place and to run fast over the tank- hinderning aera and screem loud out my anger and frustration and fears. Was a time of "prison" but I overcame that troubels.
Made me strong. Only hard times makes a soul strong not the good soft days.
Love Frank from Hamburg PS: I am happy to see that you wear the STIHL safty first stuff.
I don’t always wear the safety gear but I need to. I’m working on it. Chainsaw accidents are not pretty.
@@MountainMariner even with the full package safty first stuff on the men- we have often death and destruction in the forrest working industry. Chains can crack or jump and then good night and eys can be hit by snaprals of wood pices or sand.
I has 2 time in the hospital with my eys even with glases because the partical hit first my maxillary sinus then the glas and THEN ito the eye. Like pingpong. As I wrote bevire you need the eye water shower right hand. Cost 10 US and can safe your sight in time of need. You can wash the eye and leed the particels out of it
@@MountainMariner some weeks ago one geman professionel forrest worker- was found in the mountains near a cabin under a wood preperation shed- ONLY is body NOT the head. First they though that he was murderd but then they found the head donw the hill and they found out that the guy was training with the STIHL for a "forrest worker comtest" the fastet worker in Germany or so like the other STIHL comtests all over the world. He beheaded himself in a clear cut old school style and his head rolls down the hill.
Frank
Do you think they have ever zapped their nose or have you ever caught them on camera getting zapped?
Yes they have. Only caught it once on camera though.
I can't believe you had to be at work for 3 months I'm sure it's good money but Jesus that's a long time.
I can see why when you're home you just want to be by yourself.
How much is one helicopter ride to your place
$800.00 round trip.
